Great outside patio and music. Very cool store, with fun artsy farsty stuff. Food average at best. Service worse. I go back now and then to see if the food and service get any better. Not yet. Sad to waste such a great outdoor space.

Update; I was informed that they are opening a new location soon. Raised the review to 5 stars until they prove otherwise. Went by earlier today Wed 7ish and it was closed. Are the hours on Unilocal wrong, or is this place gone? Let me know. I didn’t kill them on my star rating as it could be an error. checked the website and it is an error on Unilocal posting. i will re do later

So its suppose to be a tropical bar? Didn’t see anything tropical or pretty about it. The server was new and didn’t know anything on the menu. My friend and I ordered the tramezzinos, neither of it was good. We asked for the ingredients in one of them and the server showed us the lid of a tub(obviously this is not fresh food). I didn’t like my meal, so started eating the side dishes I ordered which were potato salad and cantaloupe… one of my cantaloupes had a dead ant on it, I stopped eating and told the server. The manager said he would only comp $ 4, who does that? I didn’t even eat half my plate. Didn’t even care to try the desserts after that. We split checks and I checked my account the next day and they overcharged me, I called and spoke to the manager and he had the nerve to ask my what my friend’s number was so he could charge her correctly. It took him a week to give my money back. WILLNEVERGOBACKHERE! Management needs training on customer service!!!

This place used to be good but has gone downhill the past couple years. Service has always been hit or miss but it seems to have gotten worse. The entrees are lack luster, although I have liked the brisket sandwich they’ve added to the menu. The past few times I have been they have dropped the ball on both service/food. The atmosphere does not make up for this. The whole laid back vibe is kind of a draw for a spot like this but if they started to take running a business more seriously they could be back on top again.

I’m confused??? I mean I left Obzeet confused. What type of restaurant is it again? It says it is a mediterrenean/latin restaurant(which I don’t understand the connection) and tropical bar… so you have mediterrenean, latin, tropical and that doesn’t even mention the store attached to it that sells very random items nor does it mention that it is a full-service espresso and desert bar! In addition, it is a live music venue. Needless to say, there is probably something for everyone at this spot. I went on a Friday night around 10 p.m. The live music was pumping in the front room, but we wanted to eat, so we went to the back room and as others have mentioned the service was non-existent. When we finally got service we I ordered a seafood tramezzino(like a pita pocket) and my friend got a sandwhich. The sandwhich was a sandwhich and the tramezzino was good but nothing to make me go back. We enjoyed the music where we were sitting. The gift store was closed and the tropical bar, which looked nice, was not happening due to rain. This is when things got exciting… desert! They had so many deserts to choose from and all types of coffee drinks. We shared a nutella cheesecak and it was worth the drive there. It was so good. I think it had one of the best selections in DFW. I think if they would improve their menu and service I could bump it up to 4 stars. If for nothing else, I will come back for desert and maybe for some music one night.

I was with a bunch of friends and we wanted a late night bite to eat, but didn’t want to default to IHOP, Denny’s, or Waffle House. Obzeet has an interesting menu, but there’s not a lot of variety as well. The pita sandwiches were pretty awesome and you get a decent amount of food for what you pay for.

Obzeet’s is our favorite place to go in this area! If the parking lot is full you have to park next door even though the signs say not to :) I keep seeing parking issues in the reviews but it’s not that bad. Def. not downtown bad and it’s worth it. The atmosphere is the best part. The inside is very laid back. One dining room is «diner» like and the other is by the bar. If we HAVE to sit inside, its always by the bar… even if no one is working in it. Sitting in the other dining room can be a bit packed and noisy. As far as the cleaning is concerned, it could use some, but it’s an older building and there is constant foot traffic because of patrons and the attached store. It’s not bad at all. If your table is sticky ask them to wipe it down. That’s not difficult. When we sat outside after a rain the waitress came out to towel dry our seats and table with no issues. Just ask. The outside is the best part. I like to call it tropical trashy, in a good way. Plastic tables, plastic chairs, umbrellas, fake flowers, string lights, beer signs… all my favorites. The koi ponds, waterfalls, and bridges just make it even better! Also, the place has trees surrounding it so you can’t see any«city» outside the fencing and walls… just trees and there are always butterflies flying around. There is smoking. There can be children running around. I’m OK with both. There’s a bar outside in the back where you will find your Obzeet groupies. I think usually the bartender is the owner’s son. I can’t remember his name at the moment. Speaking of the owner, she is very nice and very helpful. If you have a problem just talk to her or her son and either of them will gladly help you out. I’m not surprised any complaint emails weren’t responded to… she doesn’t seem like the email type. In person is best. The only food I come here for is the Mexican Tramezzino and desserts. We’ve tried all of the appetizers and nothing is great. I really wish they had a hummus plate. My husband likes to get the salad because he LOVES the poppy seed dressing. I haven’t tried too many of the entrees because I just can’t bring myself to not get the Mexican Tramezzino. All of the desserts are amazing. You should never come here and not leave with one of them. As far as service is concerned if you sit inside it is quicker but still not the best. I have no problem with the service because when I come here I plan to spend a while eating, drinking, and listening to the live bands. Don’t come here in a rush. If you aren’t getting adequate service go find your waitress and tell her so. If you still have a problem let the manager know. I know you shouldn’t have to do this but if it comes to it then why not? We go weekly and only once have I ever been irritated with the slowness and lack of attention. We’ve even been served in the rain.

Patio Time! I like the patio! I would give it 5… but the smoking… ugh. Drinks are great… service is great… parking is a total nightmare… bands are fun… Great coffee drinks too. The food portion… not impressed… you can tell it is all prepackage and tossed on a plate… but that is okay. No one goes here for the food.

I love the atmosphere of this place on the weekends. The music and tropical environment give you a gran escape from the city :) The drinks are not very strong here and I believe they are $ 6 each. The food is pretty tasty and I like that it is different. This is a happening Friday happy hour place. PS Parking is terrible here.

I’ve lived in the neighborhood for 2 years(moved to D from Chicago). I really wanted to like Obzeet, and I certainly gave it multiple chances. Like other reviews state, the outside space is really nice, albeit a bit quirky. That’s what I liked about it. The food is decent with good prices. Only got dessert once, and that was when i showed the server there were 2 long hairs in my food. He did comp the salad and give us a free dessert. That was nice. My beef with Obzeet is the service, or in my experience – the lack thereof. We recently went on a Sunday afternoon about 2:00. Seated ourselves(as the sign instructed) on the patio. And waited. And waited. And waited. Finally waved down a server who came over and asked if we’d like menus. Uh… yeah. And water, please. 15 minutes later(and no menus and no water), we got up and left. I know it happens that things fall through the cracks. I get it. What really irks me is that I emailed the management directly through the website and mentioned what I experienced. We ended up going elsewhere for a late lunch where we were warmly greeted, seated with water and menus on the table before the host finished thanking us for coming in. I emailed the management(rather than posting a negative experience right away) and expressed my experience and said I really want to patronize Obzeet because of the great, unique atmosphere and good food. My email included my full name and phone number. No response indicates to me that my feedback and experience as an almost-diner are as insignificant as I felt waiting for a menu. In my experience, good food and a great atmosphere are practically meaningless without great service to accompany. Suggestion — have a host seat guests. That way, they are less likely to be forgotten. Good luck, Obsolete… I mean, Obzeet.

This is a great little Austin feeling spot in the middle of Carrolton/lower Plano. If you eat here you have to hit the patio or you are missing on the experience. They have live music at night and a good selection of drinks. The food was good and the deserts are ridiculously rich and HUGE! Try it, love it, come back with friends my friends.

In the years I’ve been going here, this place has not disappointed. Went there with my daughter for late Saturday afternoon lunch. Split a salad and tramenzina(sp?). Service was friendly and efficient. Food was very good and fresh. Had the blu salad and the tuna tram. Asked for jalapenos on the tram and they added fresh japs to them. Excellent! Occasionally, wesuccumb to the dessert temptations. They are always so beautiful to look at and when we do have desssert, they are always very good. One of my favorite items on the menu is the chunky blue chips — potato chips with a blue cheese«sauce». Still need to check out the live music on the weekends… one of these days.

I only had drinks here and bought a Salt Lamp, so I guess they got me with all the advertising in the place for them! Awesome patio period– prob the best in North Dallas. It is quaint and makes you feel like you are not in the city anymore, it is kind of an escape from things!

Everything at this place was so-so. It started with my beer, which was given to me in a glass that smelled strongly of that industrial cleaner bars use to clean dishware. We ordered the spinach dip, which was about 95% cream cheese, 2% tomatoes, 1% herbs, and 1% chopped spinach. Underwhelming. For the main course I had their BBQ pork sandwich. It was new on the menu and sounded pretty good. The hoagie roll was tasty, soft and warm, but the pork itself was awful. It so dry and hard it could have passed for beef jerky. It didn’t help that they poured a metric gallon of sauce on the sandwich – probably to try and inject some tenderness into the pork. The patio was nice, and my friend seemed to enjoyed her fruity cocktail and pita-pocket thing but in my opinion that’s not enough justification to return to Obzeet.

So I have been here twice. Not sure if that makes for a good or bad thing for this review. The first time I went it was great! I had the tuna Tramezzino with their house salad. Their house dressing is amazing, I believe it is a Sesame Ginger Dressing, either way it is great. Then I had a delicious piece of Turtle Cheesecake that was literally the biggest slice I have ever seen. The portion sizes are HUGE since I took home half of my Tramezzino and ¾ of the cheesecake. On the way out I noticed that they have a funky little gift store inside and if for some reason I was back during the day I would check it out. NOW…the second time I went(last week) it was a completely different experience. I ordered the same entrée but it was bland. For tuna to be bland and void of flavor is kind of odd. Also in comparison the second time the service was not good at all and we were the only table seated. I’m not sure that I really know which experience is better for this place since it is a toss up so I may give it another chance at some point this fall… They have a really great patio area. Live music, waterfall, fish pond, outdoor bar… need I say more? It looks like a great place to be but a Sunday in July is not it for Clint… too hot. I won’t say don’t go… but I would definitely ordering something other than a Tramezzino. Also, be prepared to pay for what you get(too much food too much money). The prices seemed a little inflated to me. Hope this helps someone to decide.

Oddly enough, Unilocal has Obzeet filed under Interior Design… but the secret is that it’s a funky little restaurant and bar with a rad patio AND a furniture/home décor shop.(NOTE: The address on Unilocal is incorrect. I filed a request to have it changed. It’s actually 19020 Preston Rd., near the intersection of the Bush Turnpike and Preston.) Start with the Chunky Blue Chips. They’re kettle chips with blue cheese and pico… and tons better than the twice as expensive version served at Jasper’s in Plano. Their salad selection is vast and I have yet to be disappointed. For a real treat, try a Tramezzino — it’s their signature dish: a grilled pita bread sandwich with all kinds of yummy fillings –steak, shrimp, cheese. They do offer a few pasta selections, but the highlights here are really the apps, salads and sandwiches. I did mention the bar, no? They serve both indoors and out — take your pick based on how badly you want to have a deep convo with your tablemates.(It does get loud on live music nights.) Depending on the night, you can clock some really rewarding people watching hours on the patio — the crowd can be, er, refreshingly diverse(wink). Drink selection is a nice mix of bottled imports and fun, girly cocktails. Now for the key: don’t leave without dessert! It’s like a 1950’s diner smörgåsbord. Pies, cakes and lots of other treats — take something home for gosh sakes. You won’t be sad you did. Lastly, don’t be deterred by the parking situation — it’s not the best. Be patient, pay attention to the signs and you’ll be fine. It’s worth navigating the lot.

This is an unusual place to eat in Dallas. There’s a koi pond! A waterfall! A tropical garden! An attached World-Market-type store! The menu offers a variety: soups, salads, sandwiches, and their signature Tramezzinos(kind of like a quesadilla, but with flatbread and more variety of fillings), plus coffees and cocktails. I’m partial to the Nutty Blue Cheese Vinaigrette Salad and Corn Chowder. The big draw is the setting(vaguely reminiscent of a tiki bar), and the attached shop. My mom bought a salt lamp here, which she loves, and I got a globe inlaid with semiprecious stones — I’d coveted one for years, and they’re usually über-$$$ in museum-type shops, but at Obzeet’s perpetual 50%-off sale, it was a steal at around $ 100. Obzeet has live music on week-ends, but they do have a cover charge at those times. I have never been then, so I don’t know if it’s worth the $ 5 a head. But for lunch on a regular day followed by some shopping, Obzeet can’t be beat.

This place is completely random! It’s definitely got a dive-y feel to it — it’s in the back of a store(furniture and/or décor maybe?) and they are super big on selling the«salt rock lamps» — there are signs about how awesome they are and salt rock lamps all around. The patio looked cool, but we didn’t head out there this time. I also got the VEGGIETRAMEZZINO but I only got spinach, mushrooms and artichoke hearts, and I added chicken too. Next time I go I’ll skip the chicken(I pulled it out anyway) and the artichoke hearts. I think it would have been just as good with just spinach and mushrooms. I subbed the poppy seed salad for one with walnuts and dried cranberries was supposed to have blue cheese but I ordered it with out — it was pretty tasty.
