On the plus side, the waitstaff is very courteous and professional. On the should be a plus, but most likely contributes to a minus, the owner is on site. Why a minus? He is there, but not focused on greeting customers as they walk in, walking around from table to table, checking on the timeliness of orders delivered to tables. The food, no real plusses. Oatmeal watery and appeared to be something like«gourmet instant.» Served at room temperature, with cold blueberries, over sugared pecans and hard raisins. Cheese omelet not at all fluffy and you can walk across the parking lot to Einstein’s bagels for the same bagel and a bigger smear of cream cheese for less money. You could repeat this at home without great difficulty.

Let me preface this by saying I’m doing my best to not sound pretentious, but I’ve read a lot of reviews here about what a great«european bistro» it is, and that just couldn’t be further from reality. Anyway, here goes. I’ve spent a couple weeks each(on different occasions) in Belgium, France, Netherlands, etc; and this is almost no way resembles the quaint cafes I remember on that side of the Atlantic – so get those grandiose visions out of your head if that’s what you’re looking for. The food here is low on flavor and high on price. The service is good, but that’s about all they have working in their favor. If you want a pseudo-European café experience, the closest things I’ve come to in Dallas are Café Des Artiste and Toulouse. Not exactly the perfect vision of authenticity, but the food is better, and the atmosphere is more consistent with northern France or Benelux.

Wonderful staff, perfect atmosphere. I felt like I was visiting Europe! If you’re into coffee, chocolates, and gourmet cakes this place is worth a visit or many!

I go here a lot but today(Sunday) they close at 9:00. I called at 8:40 to get a sandwich to go and they said that the kitchen closes 15 minutes before closing. I informed them that it was still 20 minutes to closing, but they would not take my order. VERYWEAK if you ask me… As I am typing this, it is 8:42…

Ordered using grubhub at 12:46. I got a text saying the food would be ready delivered by 1:55pm. The grubhub app stated it would be delivered by 4pm. For a half sandwich, salad, and fresh fruit, it shouldn’t take more than an hour. The location was less than a mile from the delivery location. I am unable to cancel my order and it’s now 4:55pm and have already paid and not gotten my food. I ordered for delivery for my fiancé while she was at work because I have used grubhub many times before for having food for her while I was at work as well. Neuhaus Café has failed completely for service. I will try and dispute the charge since I paid for food that was not delivered.

Tortilla soup(bowl) had exactly 2 pieces of chicken in it. Also, it needs more seasoning and salt. The basil pesto bruschetta was very soggy and the pesto was overpowering.

European inspired café with sandwiches, some fried foods, coffees, and desserts, desserts, desserts! Mainly of the chocolate persuasion. If sky high layered cakes with tons of frosting and garnishes are your thing, you can wash them down with an espresso or two here. There’s an extensive assortment of individual chocolates in artisinal flavors too, kept chilled. The dim lighting gives off a romantic vibe, making this a good date spot. I often see the cutest elderly couples here! They stay open a bit later than your typical Dallas eatery and they’re a few doors down from Barnes & Noble, which is a big plus in my book.

Terrible service. From the moment I walked in, I wasn’t helped. So I sat myself. It took more than 5 min for someone to acknowledge me and once they did they just took my drink order. So it wasn’t even my waiter. My waiter then comes about 15 min later! Finally I’m seen! He came off not so friendly especially when I’ve been waiting this long I would have expected better. So after he takes my order it takes a significant amount of time to get my food. And once it comes… I didn’t get my soup with it and my sandwich was wrong. Awesome, now I have to wait longer. And there was no sincere apology. Once I finally got my sandwich it was so dry. Probably the worst sandwich I’ve ever had and I’ve had a lot of sandwiches. The only good part about this experience was the soup. And waiting for an iced tea refill, forget about it. I finally had to track someone down. The only time they were fast was when getting the check… figures. I never write reviews and I’m extremely friendly but this place I just had to warn people. It ruined my afternoon.

Came in here because of the dessert carousel next to front door. The cinnamon walnut cake and chocolate truffle cake look irresistible. I resisted and ordered a hamburger. It was good I ate it with a fork and left the bun. The fries were good too but I didn’t finish them and alas no room for desert… will return for that another day. I noticed other reviews posting lack of service, well I decided on my first visit that this is basically self service. If you want more water you must get up and ask someone because they won’t be bringing it. I didn’t get a check so I just walked to the register and paid. Another suggestion I would make it’s a post the prices on the candies in the case I couldn’t tell if they were individually priced or sold by the pound or sold by the pound at various prices and wasn’t about to start ordering stuff and not have any idea how much I was spending I think a lot of people would agree with me on this one. Will be back for desserts.

What an absolute humiliating experience today. Went for Sunday brunch, we asked for table for 2. The hostess said we could only sit on the side with a small two top even though there were six four tops open. The hostess then went to the ordering station and was commenting and pointing. Never again!

Great coffee and breakfasts. I love their oatmeal. I always suggest Neuhaus for business meetings over coffee and have never been disappointed. This restaurant is much better biz meeting spot than the chain coffee stores!

Came once and the service was great even if the food wasn’t. On the belief that maybe that was an of day i can back. This time not only was the food bad, i waited 20 minutes. When the food got there it was mediocre. I ordered a blt and the bacon was burnt and the bread wasnt toasted. There was a speckle of mayo and someone had gotten way overzealous with the lettuce. I expected much more out of a $ 9 blt.

I’m a huge fan of this place! Breakfast is FABULOUS! Lunch is WONDERFUL! And dinner is AMAZING! And don’t get me started on the desserts! The cake, chocolate… If you are looking for a family friendly place to have a meal then EATHERE! They are a huge asset to Preston Hollow!

Stopped in to have some sweets. Just a wonderful chocolate and dessert shop. They also have super sandwiches, soups and salads. I feasted on Triple Chocolate Fudge cake. So good! Check out this video!

Nice people but slow service. The help wanted sign should had been my clue that it would take awhile to get my meal. Out door dining is nice. Pancakes are great.

I’ve only been once, but i’ll be back. Its a cozy café with all types of people mixed into the lunch crowd. I got the corned beef Ruben with a side of their slaw. Flavor wise everything was solid. Great corned beef, the bread was nice and thick, and the slaw was a total surprise. The German style slaw dressing(which is sweet and vinegary) is a perfect complement to the fat of the corned beef. Its actually a combination I’ve been craving now. Its awesome when on top of the sandwich. oh, and don’t forget to get some chocolate or cake for dessert.

Came here because of a Scoutmob deal we found, looking for a light dinner. Coming in I was a bit confused because it’s a café, though more of a restaurant, but also a chocolate and candy shop, and also sells some souvenirs… Anyway, I ended up getting the tilapia sandwich, and had some of the café style crackers while I wanted. Average wait time for the food, even though there was really no one there, but once arrived I noticed why. The fish tasted fresh and had clearly just been cooked, as well as the lettuce and onions on it being fresh. The foccaccia bread was warm and soft, almost toasty. And I don’t know much about thousand island dressing, but I liked theirs. Also, got a chocolate truffle cake to go! Which was delicious and rich in flavor, and just the right amount of moist. Overall, pretty tasty place, might come back if I’m in the neighborhood.

Neuhaus Café is a huge little café that is tucked away in the shopping complex off of Preston and Royal. There is a huge bakery and a huge candy selection in the back of the wall. This places seves everything from breakfast to sandwiches, salads, soups and other random items. The owner was friendly, and he walked around and checked on every table. I ordered the chicken club sandwich, and it was really good. I will come back again. There’s even a cute little patio.

The potato latkes were good, but I think this place is really known for its desserts, and that’s what I’m going to stick with next time. The tiramisu was delicious. The right amount of marscapone cheese, the bottom layer soaked in espresso, the top fluffy with cream. Ugh, it hit my sugar craving so right I wanted to ask it to be my boyfriend and never leave me. I miss it just thinking about it. The chocolate cake was another temptation. I didn’t think I’d be so impressed with a simple chocolate cake, but I was. It was incredibly rich and creamy, and moist. They had the recipe down perfect. Good enough to be my piece on the side. That was an intentional atrocious pun.

NeuHaus — you rock the Haus. Today was my second visit since a long time. I knew I enjoyed a few years back when I had it the first time, but somehow just couldn’t remember how good it was. Well, today I was reminded not only how refreshing and joyful the actual interior but the menu as well. The whole left wall is a Willy Wonka-ish candy bar with appetizing desserts and kooky candies that you take home to your 5 year niece or nephew. They even have examples of their gift wrapping options when you feel like getting a lil’ something sweet for your sweetie! After carefully examining their dense menu with tasty sounding deli choices, I landed on their cold pasta Greek salad today. It came out quickly, so I was a little concerned it came out of a big pre-made salad bowl. It was stocked with penne pasta, feta, black olives, tomatoes and cucumbers. It was awesome and filling. So hearty I had to take some home! NeuHaus is applicable to the ladies who lunch, the children on their candy craze and the afternoon loners like me that just want to enjoy a lovely afternoon at a deli.
