Had a spinach cheese pinwheel and a mozzarella, tomato and basil pizza slice. It wasn’t earth shakin amazing, but it was good.

Perfection through simplicity. This might be one of my favorite restaurants in Dallas and without a doubt favorite NY Italian food. Each time I go, I get something different and am consistently impressed with how fresh and flavorful everything is. Food– Delicious and cheap. The chicken mimi’s had a surprising amount of flavor for the simple ingredients. Their super sub is huge and a must-try if you’re a fan of italian subs. Have also had their fettuccini alfredo and pizza, and it’s the same story: super flavorful with just the basic ingredients. Service– Feels like I’m part of their family every time I come. The main guy in front who takes your order isn’t overly nice or forcing pleasantries, he’s just relaxed and authentic. Everyone there just treats you like they know you; it’s really refreshing. Ambience– Casual, it’s a small place and nothing fancy but charming. Everyone there when I go seems like a regular but they’re still very welcoming and it’s overall relaxed. Overall: Awesome place. Everytime I’m in the area, I look for an excuse to go. If you’re looking for well-priced italian food or just solid lunch when you’re in the area, this is it.

Great location by north park mall. We were actually looking for a spot to eat before continuing on with our day. It’s right off northwest hwy so you can’t miss the place. When we first arrived, it looked like a family owned business. We were greeted by everyone working and they were kind enough to walk us through the process.(First time) The pizza was awesome and tasteful. I would recommend people come here for a better taste than your«Pizza Hut or dominos» any day.

I first learned about this place one lazy night at home. We wanted to stay in and order a pizza but had no desire to get anything from the regular chains. Through Unilocal I found Mimi’s. We ordered the calamari, a large U.P. Pie, and garlic bread. Delivery took about 45min, but we gobbled it up! About a month later we ordered again and got the same thing. We were hooked. However, I saw that this place was also a sit down joint where everything could be enjoyed hot and not have to wait for delivery. So yesterday we decided to finally go. The place is quaint. It’s not fancy or anything, but it’s no hole in the wall. We ordered at the counter and noticed they also have a few pizzas out where you can order by the slice. A young woman took our order while a the guys hustled and made pizza after pizza. We sat down and got our calamari. I have to say, there must be some delicious affect when the calamari travels in the car swimming in garlic butter because the fresh ones we had were not as good as the delivery ones we had had previously. Yet they were still very good. The garlic bread was delicious and the pizza(U.P. Pie) was amazing. The freshest spinach and love their meatballs. Overall, I’m happy to have eaten at the location but still thankful for their delivery. I will definitely keep visiting.

Really great lasagna — with excellent marinara sauce. Slight deduction since I cannot discern the meat used. It seems fresh and well seasoned. Good size portions.

Ordered pizza and angel hair pasta. Pizza was just okay. Angel hair was good. We do not live in the area, but if we did, probably wouldn’t go again, or maybe on a rare occasion. Service okay.

I think this place might be the closest thing to the best NY pizza in Dallas. The thin crust is crunchy and not flimsy! We got half and half of the Margherita and Mediterranean pizza. Both were really good. The cannelloni was baked perfectly with delicious meat sauce and cheesy goodness :) Whenever I crave good New York style pizza, I will be coming to Mimi’s! It’s BYOB and they have two small TVs and a small arcade area inside.

This place is delicious! I was craving The Olive Garden but didn’t want to spend the money. This place is very reasonably priced with large portions and it was amazing! I wish I had taken a picture. The Pene Ala Vodka did not disappoint! I definitely recommend this place!

Got the Philly with provolone & mozzarella to go. It smells amazing will update if any issues but I think I’m about to dive into Philly heaven. Jo said it was clean inside and calling into to order was a breeze!

after being away from new york for ~4 months, i had been craving new york pizza with large slices, sharp cheese, and a doughy crust. i decided to give mimi’s cheese pizza a try, and it did not disappoint in terms of quality and price: not too salty, chewy and crispy, and quite a large pie for ~$ 13 – 14. however, the main thing that makes me hesitant to give them five stars is that the pizza is very oily(it takes ~3−5 napkins to blot one slice), but if you don’t mind, then all the more reason to try mimi’s. i’ve never dined in so i can’t speak to that experience, but i will say that the environment is friendly and always seems bustling with activity whenever i stop by. for now, my search for a regular pizza spot will continue, but mimi’s was very close. if their pizza weren’t so oily, i’d definitely be in here every week.

This place is hidden in a small strip of restaurants and a gas station. I really love getting their fettuccine alfredo — it’s creamy, not too salty, and the pasta is cooked al dente. You also get bread with a purchase of a pasta entrée. I wish I could learn how to make their bread because it’s always perfect. It’s a bit crispy and flaky on the outside, and the inside is airy and soft. I will definitely come back just for that.

I guess you get treated well if you look the part. I walked in at 9 pm, starving after a long day of yard work followed by a three-hour-long meeting in an excessively air-conditioned room. I was still in my yard clothes and yes, I was dirty, sweaty, and smelly(sorry to my meeting cohorts). Since I had just spent the past three hours freezing to death during an endless budget debate, the last thing I wanted to do was to freeze further. Two girls who walked in with me agreed that it was freezing and actually started rubbing their own arms trying to stay warm, so I asked the guy behind the counter — blond, Caucasian guy with a beard — if he could make it less cold in the restaurant. His answer? «Yeah, come stand by these ovens.» He then turned away and continued a conversation with a coworker. WTF?! I stood there in shock and seriously would have turned around and left the restaurant had some friends of ours not already paid for their pizza. When the guy turned back to me, I asked him, «Does that mean you’re not going to do anything about it?» He said, «I’ll turn off the fans.» Then he took his sweet time doing so. We’re only customers. Don’t worry about customer service. That idea is so outdated. And yeah, young girls in dirty t-shirts couldn’t possibly be multi-badge Elite Unilocalers. I guess at Mimi’s, you’ll get the sort of customer service you appear to deserve… and watch out if you aren’t judged favorably. The pizza? It’s fine. It’s nothing to go out of your way for. Stick to your local pizzeria, and if this one is it, I’m sorry.

The pizzas are good and fairly priced, and gluten free crust is available. The pasta was pretty lackluster though. Not bad, but not that good either. Update: revising my review to give Mimi’s one more star because my pasta leftovers tasted much better the next day.

By far, the most authentic New York style pizza in Dallas. whenever I’m there, I feel like Mimi and Benny brought the whole gang over from Brooklyn only so that we can get great pizza. Great place for Yankee fans and baseball fans in general. I m an onion and mushroom guy, but u really can’t go wrong with any combination.

Jamie and I came here on a rainy Sunday, just before the big winter storm in the forecast. With a 4.5 star composite Unilocal rating, we were pretty excited. The guys at the counter were nice, as was the strip center space, with nice canvas mounted photos of NY scenes on the wall. The price for an XL pizza was a nice surprise, too, coming in at just north of $ 20 for three ingredients. The enormous pizza was delivered to our table, as large as a trash can lid. Here’s how it broke down: — crust: thin, with enough structural integrity to hold the generously sauced and cheesed slice. — sauce– a bit on the sweet side, and pleasant — cheese– ordinary mass market mozzarella, like Domino’s — sausage– this is where my disappointment peaked. I was hoping for a nice family recipe italian sausage with fennel seeds, but this stuff was the worst quality cheap bulk sausage you can imaging, so sad. — mushrooms and onions appeared to be fresh sliced, salvaging the topping trauma somewhat. We took what we did not eat in a very large box, which served as an excellent rain hat for the downpour that awaited us outside. Now we know. I am guessing this place has earned«neighborhood points» for being a fixture that feeds well heeled families living nearby, fueling fond family memories for decades. In terms of the pizza itself, we will not be returning for that anytime soon, if ever.

Mimi’s gets five stars because the service and food is great, even though their calamari is not the best I’ve had(not enough flavor in the breading, the squid circles are too thick). This time I got the penne ariabata, which was with tomato sauce, mushrooms, and the softest, and almost creamy(my taste buds were freaking out) chicken that I’ve ever tasted. What makes this dish so great? Each ingredient stands out on its own, and mixed together, it creates this great ensemble. The mushrooms have lots of flavor, but don’t seem to encroach the sauce’s territory. The chicken, which I expected to be dry, just. Wasn’t. It was delicious, and it was ridiculously easy to tear into pieces. Do they let it sit in milk? I have no idea. My roommate got the linguine with white sauce, and it was also delicious. I kept trying to steal some of her linguine and she kept giving me death stares. My friend got the Mimi’s pizza(it’s her go to) which is the ricootta, spinach, and mozzarella. I definitely stole a slice. I think what really makes me love this place, though, is the family feel of it. The guy I was talking to clearly loved working here, and was having conversations with his regulars while I sat there dining. You can tell they’re dedicated to quality food and quality service.

The staff was super friendly and you can order by the slice, which is super convenient if you can’t finish their ginormous sized pizzas! The pizza was thin and not as crispy as I would’ve liked. You can definitely tell they used fresh ingredients, but I still felt there was flavor lacking for some reason. Overall, it was decent — just not«I must come back again and eat all the pizza in their restaurant» good.(And yes, there are pizza stores out there that I would totally jump like the fatty I am on the chance to eat out the whole store)

Mimi’s is a not a bad place. Really nice internal décor, real cozy environment, pretty spacious. However, the pizza here was really just average to slightly above average at best. The saving point is the availability of the pizzas in extra large sizes, though. I really enjoyed the way Mimi’s decorated the place: large photos of New York landmarks/places on canvas are hung up on the wall, a bright christmas tree in celebration of the holiday season, and an open oven where you can see the magic happen. I ordered an extra large half the Rossi Boston pie and half Mimi’s for 20 bucks(split between 2 ppl). The pizza was huge, I was full after 2 and disgustingly full after 3. The quality of the pizza was honestly just average. Call me a hater but I didn’t actually enjoy eating them that much. They were a bit on the greasy and salty side. Nonetheless, they were NOT bad… just NOT amazing. Le sigh, I was looking forward to experiencing some amazing pizza, but I think I will probably stick with smaller portions for now.
