This was my first and last visit! We were visiting Dallas & wanted some good soul food & were directed to this place. When my mother called & told me the choices, I was excited. I chose the baked chicken, mac n cheese & cabbage. Sounds good right? WRONG! The chicken was dry & hard, it was all Mac no cheese & the cabbage was very crunchy. My mom said the neck bones were ok but the rest was nothing to brag about. Thanks Michelle’s but I’d rather get the 4 for $ 4 from Wendy’s.

Great little spot! Food was wonderful, fried chicken was best I’ve had outside of Gus’s in Memphis. This would have been a 5 star had they not wanted to charge me $ 1.75 to take my soda I already paid for with me.

I don’t know from where the good reviews came, but this restaurant should not be listed as soul food, because it lacks any soul. Maybe it was because we went while they had a buffet, but yikes! Granted, I am just a white boy from the city, but here is what was there and what I think was missing. They had fried chicken, but the batter had absolutely no seasoning. If you aren’t going to season the batter, at least fry it in bacon grease. Give it a chance, for crying out loud. Cornbread was dry and tough(look up carnival cornbread and utilize a good recipe). I was disappointed that they only had spinach, which had flavor, but was probably seasoned before they poured it out of the can. Two words for them, collard greens, of which there were none. Sweet potatoes could have used a little more brown sugar and as the were mashed, could have been less stringy. They did have chicken gizzards, but one or two varieties would be plenty, not 5 different varieties of the same dish. The smothered chicken was good, and the smothered turkey had the same sauce as the chicken, and not as good. I was told the catfish was good. I was impressed that they had pigs feet, but was challenged to find any meat through all the fat. Here is what was missing, in my opinion: collard greens, seasoned pork chops, pot roast, fried okra, mashed potatoes, seasoned fried chicken and waffels, shrimp and grits, homemade biscuits and gravy. Will continue on my quest to find good soul food in Dallas. Please don’t waste your money here. It would be better spent in a truckstop diner.

The food was good until I saw a roach by the cakes. I couldn’t eat anything after that.

This was my second time there the first time was really good that was almost a year ago when I first got to Texas, tried them again on 10÷25÷15 seeing it was a Sunday I was thinking the food would be on point but not so! I go to the bar thinking I’m going to get me some Mac and Cheese I already knew it wouldn’t be the old fashion kind that I make but I figure it would have cheese in it so I’m cool with it, NOPE all I saw was a pan with what looked like it had some Mac and Cheese in it HOURSAGO! It was all dried up and what really messed with me is that I saw them filling all the empty pans around it but not this one but as bad as it looked it just needed to be removed and if they wasn’t going to put more of it out just move it. I hope they read this review its messed up to have a soul food joint and no MACANDCHEESE! Boom yep I said it! However, once I started eating I got maybe 7 bites in me I got sick had to go to the restroom my daughter looks at me asks if I’m ok I said no so we left she said she hated the food and was glad we didn’t stay we will not be going back. The chicken was good but I don’t know what made me sick that day I was in the bathroom the rest of that day from this food. I ate the black eyes peas, cabbage, greens, cat fish that was all I had a chance to get in me before I got sick I only took bites of that stuff. I’m hoping it was just my body and not the food! *** I just read a review that said the greens were amazing really honey those greens come from a CAN those are not fresh greens and canned greens are never amazing they be good but not amazing you need to live long enough to know the difference I guess but to each his own!

Great service. Food was really good. It is southern food though which I wasn’t expecting by the buffet title. It reminded me of thanksgiving dinner cooked right. Meat that falls off the bone, sweet potatoes that you keep eating until you’re pants don’t fit. The corn was already buttery. It was great for the few things I tried. I do not usually eat a whole lot of fried food which is why I didn’t try too many things. Overall it is a great place if you are craving southern style. I gave 4 stars because it’s not my normal type of food I eat more than once a month, but as far as other southern style places go, this one is 5 stars compared to them.

this place is terrible, first time ever going and last time ever attempting. i was invited to try the location by a friend. person said they had gone and food was good. location on the outside is a crowded shopping center, limited parking. the inside is the worst. food isnt hot, rice is hard, food is not fresh. the drinks were the worst, they had in house soft drinks that we had to request actual known brands. aside from that, the tables werent clean, the whole establishment is run down. if your into soul cooking, google a better establishment.

Don’t waste your time or money. This was the worst soul food I have had in my life. Establishment is very ghetto. Can’t believe I drove from Plano for this… never again!

We’ve been coming to Michelle’s diner for years, this is their 3rd location move near Audelia and Skillman. Best soul food in the entire DFW, hands down. But if you pay by credit card, make sure to tip the waiter/waitress separately in cash. They don’t get a cut if it’s on the cc instead. Ended up tipping twice bc the cashier wouldn’t take the tip off of the transaction.

Four stars. Service is excellent and efficient. Maybe too efficient. No convo. The cashier is so warm and charming I wish the rest of the staff were the same. The food is authentic! Smothered everything. Turkey, chicken, gizzards, neck bones and let’s not forget the star for me, pigs trotters. Cooked to perfection. Seasoning on point and ooh so gelatinous. The fried stuff is not to be effed with either. Chicken and catfish and if you lucky pork chops. Corn bread, hoecakes and patty too. And of course peas and rice, cabbage, collards, mac and cheese, mac elbows and hamburger meat. I know I am missing a lot more but I am too stuffed to remember more. Oh by the way I am writing this while in the parking lot. I did not want to get lazy. This place really deserves that much love.

This is clean restaurant serving a massive amount of food. It is a very unique buffet, serving foods I’ve never seen offered anywhere. Smothered gizzards, pig’s feet, smothered neck bones, at least four different kinds of chicken. The fried chicken was top notch, fresh, crispy and juicy. They have a salad bar, fresh tossed salad and great potato salad and cole slaw, among many others. They also have every kind of vegetable and casserole you could want. I loved the mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, collard greens, the black eyed peas, broccoli rice casserole… I’m going to stop now because I’m sounding like I ate tons(which I did). The waitress kept the mountains of plates cleared and my tea glass full with a nice smile always. I really enjoyed Michelle’s

I love the food, I just wish I lived closer to these guys. Clean establishment, the staff is friendly, attentive. Prices are very reasonable. The pork chops, turkey, neck bones, gizzards, the food period were all great. Nothing was awesome, but everything was great. The hot water cornbread(whatever it’s called) I didn’t like, but a lot of people like it. I liked the regular cornbread. Where else can you go and have all these great southern-style dishes with great service and prices. All you can eat buffet too, so you can try everything out.

Was my first visit… Was not sure what I was getting into but sometime I like surprises. Southern food cooked well. And a buffet. There was a good selection and variety and the food was cooked perfect. The sweet potato were excellent and the fried chicken was good. Pig feet curry chicken was good too. Not to many desert selection but the corn bread was good. The staff was exceptional, hard working and very friendly. Always will sing to get drinks for you and just gave the overall feel they wanted you be have a good experience. Bravo to the staff.

Went on a whim and wish i had just saved my 10 bucks instead. First the catfish was the chinese catfish, it was mushy, bland and not very good. In fact, bland is a good way to describe the food. The macaroni looked great, nice and creamy. One bite though and i felt i was eating boiled noodles in a flavorless yellow sauce. The mashed potatoes had onions. Why? i dont know, but they were thick and past their prime on the buffet line. Cabbage was very bland too. Hot water cornbread was cold, but at least had a hint of sweetness which meant it had SOME sort of flavor, but not much. When i dug into the green beans i wasnt expecting much, but they actually had good flavor and they were not cold, which was rare since everything else seemed to be at room temp. Chicken also had a nice taste, but was dry and not even warm. Overall flavorless souless soulfood. Not worth the time. People were friendly and their fruit punch was good, but honestly Golden Corral up the street has better food. That should tell you all you need to know.

So I heard this place was off the chain and crazy Delish. Well the food was kinda bland for soul food. Maybe I expected more from the hype I heard. The gentleman at the our table was super kind an sweet and so was the cashier lady. They only had fruit and jello for desert. No peach cobbler. I don’t think I will go again. Also it was so sticky muggy in the Restaraunt. Well that’s all.

Soul food just like my grandma use to make! Home cooking at its best!!! I use to be a regular and enjoyed many a good meal at her other locations. She recently moved across the street and switched from cafeteria style to a Buffett and I had mixed feelings about the change. Ever had one of those days though where you wake up and crave comfort food? Today was that day! :) I drove from Frisco and boy was I happy. I tried neck bones, fried catfish and fried chicken along with the colored greens and green beans. The fried chicken was perfect! My grandma would have smiled! That good. The neck bones were super tender and one of my all time favorites. The colored greens, while not fresh were season very well. I couldn’t resist the chicken tetrazzini and it really was just like I remembered at her place across the street. Disappointed that today there were no turkey legs and or banana pudding… but beggars cants be choosers and all the food was delicious! Wear a belt, loosen your jeans and enjoy!

I have been here many times the food is always very good! This is not a fancy place and not best location but this is home cooking for everyday people. Always a smile and warm greeting when you enter. Neck bone, catfish, meatloaf, chicken, pork chops are all good. Their greens are amazing and the cabbage as well! Hot water cornbread is a must! If you have room banana pudding is delish!

Well… I have been here twice in one week, the first visit I was in love and thought it was great.(that was a weekday at lunch) I went back with my wife to show her my new find on sunday night and it was a whole other story, very limited selection, totally different staff. I was very disapointed, I may not go back I give it a two star rating, 4 from my first visit and 1 for my second Lets see what happens!!!
