Gourmet Mexican food with great service and atmosphere. Many of these dishes have Wonderful sauces that they are Served with that are authentic and unique. The salmon with Brussels sprouts is excellent, as are the Budins. My favorite is the Camaron Aztec Budin.

Made a reservation for 7:00pm but we were finished with our errands earlier so we checked to see if we could be seated earlier. They say us with no problem right away. The waitress was very prompt and even explained that this was not a typical Mexican restaurant and if we wanted to sample anything to just let her know. The manager that night came over to our table to see how things were and to see how we heard about them. Did I mention he brought a sampling of their house corn tortillas and guacamole. I don’t even like guacamole but theirs was AMAZING!!! We ordered shortly after and writhing 15 minutes are carne asadas were brought to us. The asadas were cooked perfect and so flavorful as well as juicy. Fantastic experience and we will be making the drive from Fort Worth just for this food. Fantastic

Good restaurant. Has two levels and a really cool bar upstairs! Good for large parties. The food was pretty good– I recommend the carnitas tacos. Service was fast and attentive but my waiter was so pushy! She started off showing us the margaritas and the house specials– which is normal, but tried to get us to order an appetizer, drinks again, and desert. I understand offering it and letting the costumers know they have it but I’ve never felt so pressured it was weird. So for that I’m giving a lower rating.

This place has great food! The budin bowl is like Mexican lasagna. Very tasty! Don’t go there expecting your normal Mexican food experience. This is a very unique place that introduces you to new latin dishes that you may not have tried anywhere else.

Meso Maya is so close to our house, and it’s delicious, and the staff is good. But it’s soooo obvious that management pushes the poor waiters to try to upsell and it is so dang annoying! Before we could say anything we were being told about this supposedly great bottle of wine; mind you, it’s a Monday night, so no, the two of us are not ordering an entire bottle of wine. I order queso and am immediately asked if I want chorizo or brisket in it(I can obviously read the menu so I already know those are options). Any time you ask a waiter for menu suggestions you’ll find out that their favorite items just happen to be the three most expensive items on the menu. I feel like by pushing the waiters to sell so much, Meso Maya is actually going to shoot themselves in the foot because it is so annoying my poor husband doesn’t want to come back! I just wish they would relax and let the great food and service sell itself!

This place is located in a strip mall off of Preston and Forest. The interior was pretty nice, although I did not spot any distinctive Mexican décor. My friend and I went in for an early dinner on a Tuesday night. It was already pretty crowded, and service was a bit slow. My friend ordered the Sopa De Lima and Serrano Enchiladas and I got the Chuleta De Puerco. My friend thought her dishes were ok. I liked my entrée enough to order it again, but it did not blow me away. I have not found a place to top Perry’s as far as pork chops are concerned. Another downside was the price point… a bit high overall.

I was surprised by this place. I didn’t realize before going that they specialize in southern Mexican food. Hint: any time a place specializes in a specific region of a country, you know it’s going to be good. Ceviche: delicious. Pollo con mole: delicious and authentic. Pork chop: huge and delicious. Drinks: delicious. Prices are a little higher than most Mexican places, but you definitely get what you pay for, both in quality and in portion size. Last but not least, as if the food wasn’t enough to make this a great experience, our waiter, Christian, was the best waiter we’ve had in a long time. Perfect balance of knowledgeable, helpful, get-out-of-your-way-at-the-right-time, respectful and friendly. If I were you, Meso Maya, I would make sure that Christian was training all new waiters. He’s top notch. (I originally accidentally posted this review for their other location, which I’m sure is just as good, and looks like it’s in a really cool building.)

One of my favorite Mexican restaurant in Dallas. A nice upscale atmosphere, phenomenal food, and great service every time I’ve come in. For such a nice resturaunt, it’s located in a beat up shopping center– seems out of place, but once you walk in– none of that matters. They have a great drink selection, especially their margaritas– I would highly recommend the cucumber one. For starters, you have to get the queso poblano with brisket. Great rich tasting queso compliments their wonderful chips perfectly. I’ve had the bistek oaxaca and it’s so delicious. Although the meat is a little tough, it has great flavor. Please, please I beg you– order the elote con crema as a side. You won’t be dissapointed. One of the best elotes I’ve ever had and it’s not heavy like most other places. This has a great balance and texture– and the flavors are just booming. Overall a great experience every time I’ve been here. Highly recommended if you’re looking for an upscale Mexican restaurant in north Dallas.

Holy Mole!!! This is now my #1 All time Favorite Mexican Restaurant! What stands out is that Everything tastes SOFRESH and prepared with care. For example the guacamole and tortillas tastes so good and so fresh! I’ve had both the Carne Asada and Chile Relleno. Both were so delicious! I was with family who said what they ordered was excellent including the margaritas. Oh try the churros for dessert… so yummy! We will definitely retun. I really recommend this place. It’s AWESOME!!!

One of our staples! We eat here almost every week. Its not your typical TexMex dive, but more of an upscale experience. The street tacos are my favorite personally. My wife always gets a salad, which is very good and decent sized. My son eats the Carne Asada, which is really good quality meat. We get the Margaritas when are in the mood and a side of queso to bring it home. We sit in the front and they open the windows so its like eating on a terrace. Great experience. For the record, Ziro is an amazing waiter and excellent photographer as well!

When it comes to super delicious authentic Mexican cuisine, this place cannot be beat. The girlfriend and I have been visiting Meso Mayo on an almost weekly basis for the past several months. Some of my favorite menu items include the mole poblano and pollo serrano enchiladas, budin azteca(as other have described like a Mexican lasagna), ceviche, shrimp tacos, and queso to go along with the fresh chips and salsa. When it comes to drinks, the Oaxaca is my favorite which is a mixture of Gracias a Dios Mezcal, Cointreau, fresh squeezed lime juice, simple syrup, and oaxacan salt… but you can’t go wrong with one of their frozen house margaritas either. The servers are very attentive and the food always comes out amazingly fast. I have yet to be disappointed with any of the food or drinks I have tried here. I think I know what we are having for dinner tonight :)

Hands down the BEST brunch I’ve had in a while. To some, this might sound like an exaggeration. But, the quality of the food is excellent! Worth every penny. My friend and I took a girls trip down here, from OKC. Looked for a good place to eat, stumbled upon this place. Read the reviews and was nervous. Turns out, I was nervous for no reason. My friend is very picky eater and she is Latina(some what relevant I think lol) and SHE even said it’s really tasty(again, very relevant, because it’s rare for her to like something). From the service greeted from the door, all the way up to service from our great waiter Kyle, to– what seemed to be one of the managers, giving us a first timer appetizer on the house, omg I can talk about this place forever! It’s Gooooood! Just try it. Highly recommended from an out-of-towner!

Stopped by on a rainy weekend. Just wanted something small ordered the Lrg Ceviche de Mixto and a La Flaca Margarita. Both were good. The first chips that they brought out with the salsa were cold and kinda stale but I let them know and they brought out some that were better. Over all A-Ok place.

I’m typically not a big fan of mexican but I found this place quite interesting and good! We started off with the salsa and the queso. The salsa was really good. It was slightly spicy and chunky, just like how I like it. The queso was good but I wouldnt go so far as to say it’s the best queso in Dallas. We added the brisket on the queso and it was good but got salty really quick. The cheese itself had awesome flavor though. For my entrée, I got the budin azteca with chicken. It was basically shredded up chicken over layers of tortillas stuffed with cheese. It was almost like an open faced enchilada. The green sauce that it came with was very good as well. It wasn’t spicy at all and a bit watery. My friend ordered chicken enchiladas and asked for her sauce on the side(it was the same sauce) but hers was so much thicker and spicier so we switched ours out I wanted to try the avocado margarita here but completely forgot about it when we went! Perhaps I can come back and try some other dishes and remember to get that next time.

Allow me to be completely transparent — I first heard of this place thanks to Chrissy Teigen’s Instagram. Yeah, seriously(big fan over here). But hey, what matters is that I did! This Mexican spot didn’t disappoint. We ordered the infamous queso dip and honestly, I wasn’t crazy about it. I love the pure ingredients and unique flavor, but it didn’t knock me over like it seems to do for some. However, the cucumber margarita was off the chain! Also loved the enchiladas w/mole sauce. Yum. Also gotta give a shoutout to the amazing servers; excellent service here. Very friendly; we chatted for quite some time. The whole place is kinda divey, romantic, and would work for a group. Check it out!

We gave it another shot, and the experience was basically the same: food was great, but the service was terrible. This time, a waiter literally gave my mother the«don’t talk to me» hand when she asked for help, which is really offensive. Food come out late; food was lukewarm; food was forgotten; etc. But the food we did get correctly was great: fresh Tex-Mex.

This is a cute place with plenty of seating. The food was good and I have no complaints on that. I ordered the chicken tacos and the chicken was juicy and not over dried. They had the perfect amount of toppings to chicken ratio and fit nicely in the corn tortillas. It’s always the worst when you go to take a bite of a taco and items are falling out everywhere and the tortilla breaks. So why okay… well there were just a couple of things First the small pours for a glass of wine, I’m not looking for half a glass but when you pay good money for wine I’d like a little more than a couple of sips. The second is the timing, I was in town visiting friends and from the time we ordered to when we got our food it was probably about 7 minutes, no joke. It really bugs me when the food is rushed. If we had ate our food and left right after this probably would have been a 20 minute meal. Just my little complaint.

We came here for Father’s Day the other day and it was absolutely amazing! Pros: + Enchiladas mole were simply divine! + Exceptional service — our waiter was very attentive and dos a great job recommending dishes + Queso — OMG this queso must have come from the heavens. It’s simply divine. I loved the White cheese and the fact that it had nopales made it divine. + Churros were excellent! I loved that they were stuffed with chocolate Cons: — we felt a little crowded in the corner; but then again we came at a very busy time for the restaurant.

First time going to this location. Had the Del Mar enchiladas for lunch and my stomach was very pleased and full! It’s stuffed with crab, shrimp, avocado & cheese. Also came with black beans and rice
