I usually love Mcalisters, but this time my tortilla soup was cold, they barely gave me any chips, and they forgot my extra sauce I ordered. Overall the food tasted great, but after I had to ask them to bring me my sauce and hot soup.

Came in at 3PM on a Saturday. Plenty of staff, but not many customers – which makes sense – lunchtime was over. I got the half-club and cup of soup combo. The club was PATHETIC. Halfway toasted stale bread, some tiny chunks of chicken, a few flaccid flakes of wilted lettuce, a couple of sickly slices of tomato – an awful value for seven bucks and change. I complained to the manager, who offered to give me a new sandwich, but I wasn’t going to risk it, not trusting the cook. Later, a different employee came by and gave me a Free Lunch card. When I saw the manager and cook yukking it up in the kitchen a few minutes later, I couldn’t help but wonder if they were laughing about me and my complaint.

As a First timer here, I decided to try one of their specialties, the McAllister Club. The Sandwich was consistent all Around and cut good enough to fit per bite. The meal came with a side, drink and cookie which was am awesome combination for the price.

Wow, what a disappointingly sad experience. I have never had such a bad Reuben sandwich before. It was listed under ‘hot sandwiches’ but unfortunately this one never saw the grill. It was a soogy, wet, disgusting mess. I took a few bites and left it. I will go back one more time to get my punch card completed, return for my free item, and then I am done with them. They seem to have the same manager from when they first opened but they have really let their quality slip. Unfortunate

I come to this McAlister’s location all the time. Lately I have been working on business school applications… writing essays, doing research on various programs and studying for the GMAT. I get distracted trying to studying and write essays from home, so I like to go out to work on my applications. I have been several places… 2 or 3 different Starbucks, Panera Bread, Corner Bakery Café, even iHOP. And none of those is as comfortable or as conducive to studying as this McAlister’s! The staff is courteous and the restaurant is always clean. The food is delicious and there is never a long wait to get your food. The sweet tea is to die for. I will come and stay at this McAlister’s location for hours working on my applications, and they are always super nice and ask me if I want refills on my drink and clear away my trash. I go there so often, that they all recognize me now, and they never make me feel weird or awkward for it. I highly recommend this location! Especially for studying or doing work on your laptop. The WiFi is fast and reliable and the Country Potato Soup on a cold, rainy afternoon can’t be beat! My only criticism is that they need to put in more electrical outlets around the dining room. There are only a few places to sit where you can plug your laptop in.

I just wanted a salad. The Italian chopped salad fit the bill for me perfectly. Lots of cold chopped lettuce topped with cheese, ham, salami, olive salad, roasted red peppers, red onions, tomato, and cucumber. There was plenty of dressing on the side. The cashier was courteous and the salad came out quickly. Apparently they do a lot of to go orders or catered meals because they also had 6 or 8 separate bags ready for pick-up.

Don’t waste your time or money. Simple sandwich order that they could not get right even after the person taking the order verbally explained to the folks in the back. Sandwich was not made as requested and the mashed potatoes were cold, how does that even happen? I have to assume that this happens a lot at this location because when I requested my money back they did not even offer to fix the sandwich just quickly refunded my money and a small«were sorry». No attempt at salvaging a customer, so they have definitely lost one over $ 7. I hope this helps you make a much better decision than I made attempting to eat at McAlister’s.

I got a pastrami on rye w/swiss. Side dish of mash potatoes w/gravy. The sandwich was great. Fresh bread and very good meat. Just not enough of the meat. They could given 30% more meat and I would have been smiling. But, it was very tasty and what I was looking for. The potatoes were good. The gravy had good texture and flavor. The meal with a large soda… was about $ 9. That’s less than what it would have cost me at Jason’s.

I seriously never write reviews for anything, but I feel compelled to write a review for this McAlister’s location… It was a cold November night. I had an ear infection and wasn’t feeling well. I was snuggled up in bed when I had a thought. ‘Ooo! A bowl of McAlister’s chicken and dumpling soup sounds so good right now.“ I mustered the energy to put on pants, got in my car and headed over to McAlister’s, a 10 minute drive from where I live. I ran inside to get my delicious, piping hot soup when I realized that the restaurant closed at 9:00 pm and it was 9:05. The young girl who was sweeping the floors looked at my apologetically and I gave her a dejected nod and headed back to my car. I was so sad. I had gotten out of bed, put on pants and braved the cold in search of the delicious soup only to find that it was beyond my reach. I was about to drive away, empty handed when a man emerged from the restaurant. He walked up to my window and asked what I was looking for. I put my hands together in front of my chest in a prayer-like gesture, stuck out my bottom lip and said, «Please. I just want soup. I’m sick and I came all the way over here for soup.» He smiled a warm smile and said, «Sure. We can still get you some soup. Please come inside.» My face lit up with happiness. Charles, the manager took time to wrap up my soup in a bag, complete with crackers, a spoon, napkins and peppermints. As I left he wished me a Happy Thanksgiving. It was above and beyond what I’d expect from any chain restaurant. I will definitely be going back.

It’s not very original for one of several delis in Dallas, To top it off its cheap and plain; you’re walking into no palace. The menu is limited, way too simple and has not one outstanding dish, Just one original, decent sandwich is all that a customer could wish. They also serve no «fun» beverages and of course no ice cold beer, When I asked for a Bud Light an employee acted like the idea was something queer. Um, HELLO, youre in Dallas! And I’m pretty sure that this is typical, If you want to compete with your neighbors an alcohol license is critical. So I’ll just take my business across the street FOLLOWME! Where there is good food, good drinks, and a good time. Go to Fernando’s and see!

I live in the neighborhood and appreciate their food and good service. I hear some have had issue with their service and speed, but I have not had any problems. I love the Sweet a Chipotle Sandwich!

Good: Attentive server made sure our drinks were full. 99 cent kids meal. Needs Work: Cashier took FOR-EVER to take our order. No wonder there was a long line. The Food was Bad: The kids pizza tasted«off» and no one would eat it. The veggie club had lots and lots of bread slices(four layers!) … but not much in the way of veggies, and very little flavor. The Muffaletta had plenty of olives, but was lacking sauce and complexity. Bottom Line: We won’t be back. This was my second time, and last time. Mediocre is not enough to bring me back.

I was excited that a deli was opening nearby. However, I have eaten there twice and both times found the sandwiches to be dull. On the first visit I had a Reuben sandwich and steamed vegetables for a side. The sandwich was mushy and the vegetables seemed like a frozen vegetable mix from a bag, no butter or seasoning, just bland vegetables that didn’t have much color. The next visit I had a turkey sandwich and coleslaw. I don’t really remember the coleslaw, so it wasn’t bad, but it didn’t make an impression either. The turkey sandwich just didn’t have much flavor. I want to like McAlisters because it is close to my house and I like a deli sandwich occasionally. I know with some restaurants, you just have to know what to order. So I will try again. On a positive note, they pride themselves on their sweet tea and It IS very good, it has the perfect amount of sweetness. The service was fine and people were friendly. You order at the counter and they give you a number and bring the food to your table.
