Thomas the bartender has a perfect sense of humour! He served my beer and quesadillas and they’re DELICIOUS. a bit pricey but I don’t care. I will be coming back here soon. Very peaceful to a certain aspect. No complaints here. Thanks again Thomas!

My wife and I will venture down from the ‘burbs to hang out in Big D. One of our favorite places is Lee Harvey’s. The first time we came here we honestly didn’t know what to think because the neighborhood is a bit sketchy, but we figured out it’s all good. Lee Harvey’s the perfect place to hang out and do some drinking. There’s plenty of parking across the street. They’ve got a decent beer menu and the food is great, especially the burgers and onion rings. Great atmosphere inside and out. The bathrooms are an experience themselves. Tons of graffiti! Very interesting! Lee Harvey’s is always a good time.

If you love dive bars then this place is great! Great food that isn’t dive bar fare either. Had a blast their and will be back again. We were in from Austin and our friends had their wedding celebration there and it was great. We will definitely be back to this little gem tucked away south of I-30.

This bar is what it is, a dive bar, so you need to know that going in. We went during a slow time so this place is hard to review because there were about two other couples there so there was no vibe or energy level. The weather was beautiful so it’s a bit curious why more people were not there. The bartender(owner?) was really friendly and talkative, made us feel welcome. But the drink choices are limited, and I am giving it 3 stars because there is no beer on tap. I don’t see how a bar cannot have anything on tap. The huge outside seating area is a real plus and I can imagine that it would be quite fun to sit outside on a nice day in the spring or fall when lots of people are there.

I’m sure lunch is much different than the bar at night, but I was not impressed with my first visit here. Service was beyond slow. I get meals taking a while to cook, I don’t get making your customers wait around so they can order food. Two of the members of our party actually left because it took too long to order. Then, they made members of our party start delivering food to our table — which is fine if that’s the standard. However, we were given numbers so that they could deliver the food to us. The food was good, but I definitely think this is a «you like it or you don’t» sort of place. I did not like it.

Great place. Who would name a bar named lee Harvey’s in dallas? Oh well. Patio is huge and great and sort of heated in the winter. Interior is cool. Check this place out for sure!

This place is divier than David Boudia, but David Boudia didn’t make me wings, so I guess what I’m saying is that I like this place more than David Boudia.

I love this place. Food is great. And the atmosphere is wonderful. Most shows are free and bands are usually great fun to watch and listen to. I love that it’s dog friendly and Sundays are especially great because you can take your pups off the leash! I love the BLT and the grilled cheese!

Great find! Chill outdoor dive bar tucked in a residential neighborhood. It’s a great atmosphere. It would be good for a large group; they have long picnic benches and ample space. The live music definitely contributes to the laid-back feel. Their beer selection is fine, not many local beers, but that’s not essential.

I have been a huge fan of Lee Harvey’s for year and years now. The gem of a «dive» bar, tucked away off Gould Street, also sports my favorite burger in Dallas. The bar has a lot of character, with vintage beer ads, retro lighting and vintage(read uncomfortable) booths on the inside. And they still have an honest to goodness jukebox! And a pool table. And a gloriously graffitied bathroom that must been seen to be believed. The bar’s layout mostly leans on its ample exterior, with an enormous, glorious patio with fire pits, lots of picnic style tables and a seriously cool Austin vibe. Plus they are animal friendly, and have designated days where they close off the backyard so everyone can bring their friendly dogs to safely play. But then there’s the burgers. So, so perfect. The juicy, thick patty that is just the perfect kind of moist, a devious toasted bun, and those perfect cold fixings. My mouth is watering just thinking about how amazing it is. The fries are also stellar and the onion rings are also perfection, thick and crunchy and generous and not greasy at all. This designation is a Dallas must. When I have out of towners I always make sure to bring them here. It’s a perfect place to fill up, have a long neck, kick off your flips and enjoy the summer breeze. Thank you, Lee Harvey’s! You make Dallas a little cooler by just being here.

I have to admit that I have waited to write my review until I tasted the food while completely sober. I don’t drink to excess very often but this place can bring that part of you out and it’s completely okay. I mean everyone else here is doing it, right? Right! Lee Harvey’s is nestled in a neighborhood south of downtown Dallas at the corner of Gould and Beaumont(always make me think of Hugh Beaumont from Leave it to Beaver). A lot of the neighbors are regulars here and that is one of the many things that make Lee Harvey’s such a freaking cool place! There are two bar areas, both manned and womanned(I know it’s not a word, but hey, sue me) by great bartenders who are very nice, but won’t hesitate to weed out the BS-love that! The bar area on the left, as you enter the patio, is small adm has limited seating and a small pool table. The bar area on the right is much larger and has larger seating area with long bar tables. The large patio has picnic tables lined up throughout and for nights that are nipply(again, sue me) there are fire pits to provide warmth and a good snuggle spot with a cuddle buddy. If you didn’t bring one you probably won’t have any problem finding one, I mean we are drinking here! The patio is manned and womanned by Lee Harvey’s staff that is very adept at finding you to bring your food and drink orders after taking them. Sundays are dog days and I don’t mean that they are sultry, I mean you can bring your pooch with you. I choose not to bring Rosco since he is a bit unruly. Most of the dogs I’ve «visited» with at Lee Harvey’s are super friendly and well mannered in public, which is so fun. Live music is what brought me to Lee Harvey’s and while I’ve seen some really good bands, I have to admit, I’ve seen some really bad bands here too. No worries though, it’s a fun time either way. They book Naked Lunch(Steely Dan tribute band) quite a bit and they are fantastic! Check out their calendar online to check out the band line up and food specials. Speaking of food. I have woofed down my fair share of their fare after a few beers and it was so freaking good. But more recently I had their burger and fries and fish tacos while totally sober and I have to say they take bar food beyond bar food expectations. The burger may even make my top ten burgers in Dallas, although I typically like to check a place for consistency before entering them on my list. The fries are pretty basic, but basically pretty good and the fish tacos are wonderful and the fish tacos are $ 1 after 3PM on Mondays and Happy Hour starts at the same time. Hey! Today is Monday! I’ll see you there this afternoon or sometime in the future!

I love me some Lee Harvey’s! The staff is always super nice, the atmosphere is very laid back and unpretentious, there is always a nice mix of people and the music is always super good. This place makes me feel like I am inside a Tarantino movie. Please be aware that there are only a couple of indoor seats as well as a pool table, this place is mostly outdoor, they have some outside fire pits for the winter time, but there is not much you can do in the summer, besides having a bucket of super cold beer with you. Their food is good, nothing fancy and the prices are super affordable. There are plenty of parking areas around it, mostly just dirt lots, but they do the trick. What I love the most, is how this is just a place to have a beer and a good time, the waiters are attentive and they are not the type that judges you for not ordering cool enough beer or not spending ridiculous amounts of money(*cough *cough, like some places in the Bishop area) Also, since this place is mostly outdoor, your dogs are also welcome.

I’ve been wanting to try Lee Harvey’s for a while. I finally went in for a late lunch burger recently. Overall, I think this place is pretty damn cool. Of the dive bars I have been to, it is the«divey-est». I mean, it’s a dump, a real dump. But, that’s its personality. It is such a different vibe from the sanitized, craft cocktail, faux distressed but still highly polished wood bars you find in areas like Uptown. The actual bar area indoors is so small, it’s a guaranteed case of claustrophobia/agoraphobia for somebody like me. The patio and yard area are the places to be… so, this is a warm weather venue in my book. I bet the place gets packed on Friday and Saturday nights in warm weather. I had a beer, a cheeseburger and onion rings. I’d heard much about the onion rings. Are they the best I’ve ever had(or even in town)? No… the best are the ones they serve at Sonny Bryan’s; Sonny’s blow these out of the water, but they’re still very good. The cheeseburger, on the other hand, was exceptionally good, one of the better ones I’ve had in a while. Great flavor, good sized, and they know how to cook it to the ordered level of doneness. I’d go back for the burger alone. The lady behind the bar was great… so friendly… it’s clear they treat everyone like a regular, even when you’re not. The prices there are very reasonable, and their happy hour prices are surprisingly low.

Yup, come here. The onion ring hype is real. I usually don’t like onion rings because I find them too greasy depending on how restaurants batter them. But the rings here are light, crispy and fairly thin, which I decided to love and cherish as if they were my own after a couple of bites. I’m getting ahead of myself. I ordered the chicken tortilla soup to start out with, honestly not expecting much but it was actually pretty decent. I wouldn’t say it’s the best tortilla soup I’ve had but I was surprised how hearty and meaty the soup was. Everything in it tasted fresh. I also ordered the half pound burger with cheddar cheese, avocado, bacon and subsituted the fries for the onion rings. It was a perfect med. rare and so freakin juicy. That bacon though… Damn, it wasn’t a tiny burnt strip, it was hefty bacon on that burger. The bartender/server was very friendly and at one point the cook came out and asked how I liked my meal. I dig it.

Fun dive-like atmosphere, often with live music on the weekend. Tuesday night popular due to ½ on their award-winning burgers. Portobello Burgers are tasty too!

The owner is the man. There is a reason this bar thrives with such a great owner. Free jukebox, picnic tables, steak, and plenty of weird people. Do not change a thing about the bar. We bonded over T Rex. Life is strange.

Holy Onion Rings! That’s right, the best rings you ever tasted is in Lee Harvey’s. It tasted better than the onion rings our own grandma used to make. Delicious! Crispy on the outside and tender inside. One of my all time favorite, and so much better than the typical battered rings. Breaded onion rings are so hard to find at restaurants now since there are so few old fashioned drive-ins left anymore.(Best, in my opinion, with a juicy cheeseburger they have, it will the perfect made for each other pair). Wood patio tables galore and a lush lawn all around is the scene at this dive. But when it rains pack up and head back inside, where the smell of whiskey and cheap beer hangs in the air. It’s a very cool place, with a nice patio, dog friendly and great atmosphere with great food and tacos.(tacos is food too, but I want to point their tacos which is delish and cheap). In one word… CHEAP. In two words… AWESOMEPATIO. In winter just think it is summer and go to the Lee Harvey’s patio.

It’s been a minute since I’ve updated my LH review. In the past couple of months I’ve had the perfect days/nights here. Our own Kaia V won friend of the day a couple of weeks ago(check out their FB page and you could win too). It was on a Friday where I got the day off early from work so we were at Lee Harvey’s around 3:30pm. Only a few people were there. The weather outside was PERFECT! We sat outside and had the perfect time with perfect friends and perfect drinks! Last week we went for $ 1 taco night. You’re seriously a winner with $ 1 tacos. The fish with the aoli sauce, the beef with the onions are just delicious and they are only a friggin $ 1. A DOLLAR. I sat at the bar this time since it was chilly outside(I’m a wimp) and some good friends joined me. I got to meet Timm the bartender, which I have known him forever it seems, and think I’ve met him before when he did a short run at Elbow Room. We all had a good time chatting and drinking and eating and hearing Timm and Kaz tell stories of some of the regulars. We eventually went outside when the fire pits were going and continued to have the best time ever. Of the 10+ years I’ve been going to LH I can’t think of a bad time. In fact many of my greatest memories of being out and about involve this place. I’m dreaming of their perfect patio right now.

Who would think to name a bar after such a infamous name? Well Lee Harvey’s lives up to the legendary name. It’s a good time wrapped with a awesome outdoor patio. Lee Harvey’s created the outdoor. picnic tables. live music.beer drinking. burger eating. french fry dipping. checking hot roller derby girls. watching random hipsters. appreciating the custom choppers. dallas skyline with your friends all night kind of fun. I’ve come here on a sunny Friday afternoon with my dog and a few friends. I’ve come here on Friday nights with a rockabilly band playing. I’ve come here on Saturday for Mods & Motorcycles. I’ve come here for a Paws in the City event. I’ve come here because I was their Facebook Friend of the day(2 times)! Hell I’ve come here to just because the beer was cold and my car was on autopilot! Lee Harvey’s is where Roadhouse meets Dallas. Guaranteed to have a good time. Bring a group of friends, grab a bucket of beer and enjoy the weather. And don’t discount the burgers. they are legit!
