What a refreshing change to find a doctor with a great bedside manner, understanding of the patient and their knowledge of their own body, and respect for both the doctor and the patient’s time. My new neurologist(review to come) referred me to Dr. Jamieson to test for Sleep Apnea. I had endured two sleep studies back in 2005 for which they claimed Sleep Apnea but never moved towards treatment. I found the reports from those sleep studies and brought them with me to my appointment. After my actual Sleep Study… I went back in for the results and Dr. Jamieson discounted the diagnosis of Obstructive Sleep Apnea that«TheDrugDealer» had labeled on me… based on both the current study and the one from 4 years ago. Centralized Sleep Apnea is a more correct diagnosis and something that can hopefully be fixed after my posterior fossa decompression surgery for Chiari. Extra star for the fact that Dr. Jamieson even knew what Chiari was, was in agreement that the Centralized Sleep Apnea could be helped with surgery… and by fixing my apparent chronic(as in decades) lack of sleep that many of my symptoms should improve. Also, Dr. Jamieson’s office bills the actual Sleep Study as an office visit and then the reading of the results as an office visit. My entire sleep study cost me $ 80 for 4 office visit co-pays instead of the hundreds of dollars that billing a sleep study as a hospital procedure would cost(as the previous sleep study did).
