Insomnia Afterhours

Insomnia, or as I like to call it, ‘Shit-​Somnia’ this is not the AfterHours club to go to! When in Dallas, try Eternal Eden instead, still want the same EDM but don’t want to wait till 3am? Go to Lizard Lounge in down town. Ok to be fair the dj’s are good, some of the time,. Towards the middle end time of the night they start playing the ghetto get low crunk music mixed in with your house, hard style, trance, and tribal. Near the end, They stop playing EDM all together and only play the grinding music. Also this place is SKETCHY AS Efffffffff. It’s in a terrible industrial corridors of I-​35 that’s old and rundown, high crime, police raids weekly. And to top off shit somnia it’s 20 $ to park in a dirt /​broken concrete lot/​20 $ to get in, and 20 $ for a bottle of water. Don’t forget, you most tip the bathroom attendant you guessed it 20 $. On a lighter note, some of the dancers who stick around from «the clubhouse» are very talented, they even get off the pole and start dancing with the crowd if the vibes are good enough.

This is not a dance club. This is a BYOB all-​nude strip club that has a rave party on fri and sat from 4−8am. The strip club is a concert hall rock club with strippers. The crowd is young and the music is loud so if you aren’t used to that kind of thing you might not like it. They call the strip club the clubhouse. They have all kinds of girls. A lot of them are cute 18 yr olds with perky boobs and big smiles that are happy to be there. But then they start talking and they talk so much shit about the other girls that you don’t feel bad about letting them sit there all night and not spending any money on them. It is really more the chunky ones. They only seem to know each other and everything that comes out of them obviously untrue that maybe the regular girls are feeding it to them. A lot of the other girls are those same girls 3 yrs later. Their boobs aren’t tight anymore and their faces look swollen from partying to much and they are bitchy. There are some boney ones but they seem the easiest to talk too and probably the nicest girls in there. They also have a few super hot ones that look like they just don’t belong there but they seem to know everyone so they must be there all the time. I only saw one older lady sitting against the wall until they make her go on stage and then she just stood there and swayed and made everyone feel uncomfortable. They have a lot of girls. A lot more than the other clubs in Dallas. Last night there had to be 40. I have never seen any rockstars here. Maybe that was back in the day. And they give away free alcohol in the day time. It’s all you can drink. All swill though I think, no beer. I’ve never been there but I know a couple of people that go everyday. Insomnia is a whole different thing. The girls leave. They move the furniture out and you dance. The music is a mix of breakbeat, dupstep, breakstep, elecotrostep, techstep and jump-​up so really it is all drum and bass. People come here to dance. What is going on at Eden and Temptations is more of a tranceparty. If you were older you might like that better. Insomnia isn’t a strip club. The crowd is ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ girls/​guys but they come to dance. The Pt’s and Jag’s have a lounge feel and are for older people, that not my thing. Maybe someday. This is a party. Some saturdays it gets to busy and you can’t X-​out so I like fri better. I recommend Insomnia and the clubhouse over the others. The energy is higher and the crowd is a lot younger. But it depends on what you are into. Maybe if you are in your 40’s you just want to sit. I do end up spending money here but I have a good job and I am not bogged down yet so I enjoy it while I can.

It’s sad that this place has become so bad. This used to be the best afterhours club in Dallas. Now there isn’t even a line to get in. There were less than 100 people, and only 2 – 3 girls. Couple that with the rude, racist staff, and I can see why nobody goes here anymore.

I hadn’t been to an after hours club in probably a decade. But we were out and having a great time and before we knew it, it was 3:30am and we weren’t ready to go home. The easy answer was Insomnia. Its just about everything I expected. Crazy people doing crazy things, blow-pop’s for sale in the bathroom etc etc. But the vibe sucked, the place was PACKED and the music left A LOT to be desired.
People watching was pretty good, girls dressed in nearly nothing everywhere, doing all kinds of odd things.
For the people reviewing this as a strip club you’ve got the wrong place. The strip club closes at 4am. This is a review for what the STRIP CLUB becomes after the Club House closes.

Ive been to my share of strip clubs. Some are fantastic, the establishments are great, the music is where it needs to be, the girls look top notch, and after a few years they’ll be able to pay cash for 4 years of college and then medical school. Unfortunately, this is not one of these places.
This place was decent sized, 2 levels with the balcony over looking the bottom floor, and i really liked the concept of bringing your own booze to the club since we cant do that here in California, but thats about where the good news stops.
Theres one main stage, and 2 side stages. The main stage was big, one brass pole… fine. The 2 side stages were small but had a fun jungle gym setup for the girls to hang from their toes or legs or whatever they wanted.
The Music… too loud. I understand Pantera own the club, but Jesus Christ, my ears were ringing forever.
The girls: Well I’ll be nice. or try to be nice. Most of the girls were unattractive, small chested and had teeth that resembled a cheese grater. Not too cute. There were a few (maybe 3) that looked great, but for the most part, there wasn’t enough booze on the top floor for me to fork out cash to have one of these girls rub up on my junk. I’ll pass. My friends and i also noticed that these girls had some weird butt obsession and constantly bent over and shoved the guys faces into their ass crack. WTF is that about??! If i wanted to smell ass, I’d fart.
So all in all, not a good place to go to. I didn’t give a dime to any of these girls. Sorry girls, I guess you’ll have to pay for your own tuition next semester.

This place is great. Probably the best strip club in Dallas, well besides the Kings Lounge (see my review). This place is open all night I believe if I’m not mistakened. It’s like $ 20 to get in and it’s BYOB. The Girls are totally nude. And the chicks are actually human looking not like some places in Dallas. Always a good time. The guys from Pantera used to own some portion of this club. They were always hanging out there. I used to see them everywhere. The Clubhouse, Chicken Express, The Stars games. Anyways. MY friend Mathias’ brother’s wife’s father is the owner… how do you like that relationship? You should check it out if you’re in the area… you won’t be let down.

Not that great. Music is usually the same trance/breaks…I prefer House and yes there is a BIG difference. The crowd is way too young and I just feel strange everytime I go in there… maybe its because I’m old.

Insomnia used to be the place to go when you had just left the club on a Saturday night at 3 – 4 in the morning and couldn’t quite shake off the dancing jitterbug. Since it’s major and only competitor Eden had opened up, Insomnia has lost all of its appeal as far as after hours clubs go. It did first have the novelty of being held a strip club (which is what Eden is as well) and the novelty of opening from 4am-​8am on a Sunday but since it’s new rivalry came on the scene a lot of that appeal has since vanished.
I wish I could say something positive about the experience at Insomnia since I had been going there for such a long time, they play good trance music from time to time, but DJ Andy Szontagh has also had his share of blunders there as well. Insomnia is still the only place to date where I have seen a not-​so-​hot tall lanky and very much out of his mind white guy threaten security guards by stripping down completely nude and swinging what his momma gave him in their general direction. It worked. They didn’t try to apprehend him for a good five minutes.
