This café was my son’s 1st restaurant experience when he was a few days old. The same employees/owners are there and comment on how big he’s getting(@ age 7). This place is a Bishop Arts time capsule. I pretty much come here for the same dish again and again — migas a la Mexicana con chorizo with a side of salsa and a coffee for less than $ 10. This place isn’t for everyone which is okay because I can usually find a table. Love love love…

Needs to hire another waitress or a hostess or at least a girl to answer phones and run food orders. Cause the service isn’t great. But the food is so good I keep going back! Breakfast tacos are reasonably priced and the best in the neighborhood.

Great food at great prices! It is a small place and can get really crowded on the weekends, but it is worth the wait. Breakfast tacos stuffed with delicious goodness, well worth the price you pay for them. Migas are fabulous and the Ranchero sauce on the Huevos Rancheros is divine. Once asked if I could just purchase a cup of the Ranchero sauce to eat with tortillas, it’s just that good. Sadly, they reserve the Ranchero sauce for the Huevos! This isn’t a fancy place, but for great food at a really decent price, you can’t go wrong here.

I’ve only been for breakfast, but I’ve been many times because I live in the neighborhood. I almost always get migas with roasted potatoes and beans. It fills me up, and everything on the plate is outstanding. Very nice waitstaff, too. Good coffee that the waitstaff is always happy to refill. I hope they stick around for a long time.

Small little spot in a cool area. There was quite a few people dining in and picking up. I was surprised to see their breakfast tacos being called breakfast burritos. But I ordered 2 anyway because I was hungry. They were pretty big and I could only finish one. The bean, cheese and bacon was good. I’m from San Antonio so there was no comparison, but still good. I wish the beans were«refried» more, but the flavor was good. Bacon was crispy and there was just enough cheese. It would have been perfect if the tortilla at least tasted homemade. It actually taste like store bought not even name brand tortillas. This saddened me. I didn’t get a chance to try the Picadillo taco because I got full but BF ate it and he liked it.

Yes this place is slow. Yes you should understand that before going there however the cheese enchiladas are incredible. Before ordering the cheese enchiladas please ensure the following: One you have the next two days off work and two you have someone to drive you home. Point blank they are the best enchiladas in Dallas and will put anyone to sleep which considering they are not open for dinner puts you in bed around 3 to 4 o clock. This can be an issue if you have a regular job during the day like myself. Please take head when ordering this cheesy goodness and good night and good luck.

Great place for Breakfast, first come first serve environment. So grab a table upon entering. Family owned Bussiness, if you have patience then go for it.

This is a small place but beware and don’t go on a Sunday. First they were understaffed so you had to get your own table, and quickly sit down, wait until they cleaned the table, and wait some more so they could come take our order. There was another couple who came in 10 minutes after us who got serviced before we did which made me very upset. On top of that the waitress took our creamer and sugar to give to them! Enough about the service, but you should know these details. We ordered 2 burritos, bacon and egg and chorizo and egg. They were tasty and the salsa was delicious. We would return just not on a busy day or order to pick up.

Attentive staff and homemade style food, chorizo and eggs were fantastic! Salsa is amazing, packed with flavor, the way it should be made! This place focuses on the food!

Best pancake I’ve ever had. Food is genuinely Mexican authentic. Huevos rancheros were amazing. Small place so come early.

We found ourselves in the Bishop Arts District this morning. At 10:00 am, only El Jordan, Café Brazil, and Oddfellows were open. Oddfellows had 1 hour and 30 minute wait. That was a no go for my impatient crew so we came here. El Jordan was busy. Had one table left. The place is small so it’s packed with people on each side of you. I ordered the migas and husband got the breakfast tacos. Right off the bat you can tell it’s a family owned business. We sat by the kitchen so we seen the 2 man show cooking. It took 1 hr and 15 mins before we got our food. Hell, I could’ve waited at Oddfellows for that long. An hour in and most of the tables were granted chips and salsa. The salsa was delicious. 15 minutes later out food came. My water went unfilled. My migas were good. The husband liked his breakfast tacos. I debated between 2 – 4 stars, but after I read Heli’s review saying they have been open for 18 years, how could I review them negatively. The 2 man show in the back was crankin the food out as fast as they could. They are a hard working family so in my heart I can’t be too mad that my food took a long time to come out or give them a negative review.

I personally love this place. It’s small, informal, and has incredibly cheap, enjoyable food. I’m a breakfast fanatic, I can get my American or my Mexican grub on here. Migas, pancakes, breakfast torta? Yessir. The service staff are those of few words, and that’s ok; they’re prompt, and food comes out fast. Our new favorite breakfast spot, since café Brazil in oak cliff has such let down service.

El Jordan is one of the main food staples here in the Bishop Arts District. Everything is made with true love, so don’t count calories here. Portions are a good size. Their red salsa is the perfect blend of flavor and heat, but nothing over the top. They serve breakfast and lunch only, Wednesday through Monday. Tuesday they are closed.

If you’ve been in your Mexican moms/grandmas kitchen that’s what this place is like«home» :) I’m a regular so when I come in everyone knows me by name and knows that I like to eat and drink! Must try the «Chocomill» which is chocolate milk man size!

We passed up the wait at Jonathan’s for a humble but solid breakfast at El Jordan. It’s Mexican meets diner /family restaurant, so don’t expect frittatas. But do expect a good breakfast, Mexican or American.

Tasty authentic Mexican Food. Not tex-mex, but Mexican. If you go for brunch on a Sunday, wait times can be longer including service wait times. 5 of us were in and out in an hour and a half.

My favorite early morning spot in Bishop Arts! Forget Hattie’s! Come have Huevos or menudo!

I have been coming to El Jordan for years, and am surprised to see that I have not written a review yet. Here’s the highlights: 1. Large outstanding breakfast tacos, $ 1.50 a piece, eggs and veggies or meat of your choice. Two will fill up your tummy, and three will stuff you. 2. Best refried beans in town 3. Best huevos rancheros in town 4. Best menudo in town, $ 8 for and enormous bowl that feeds me for three meals The place is owned by a middle aged Mexican couple Lorena and her husband who is always in the kitchen. Super crowded on the weekends, and does a brisk breakfast and lunch business every day. Outstanding quality authentic Mexican food for very low prices, amazing– well worth the drive to Bishop St in Oak Cliff as the cornerstone to a trip to explore the hip and entertaining retail and culinary area. You will love it :)

I was in dire need of a breakfast taco and happened to be in the Bishop Arts district. I luckily happened upon this place. In a very short amount of time, I had breakfast tacos + Topo Chico in hand and was ready for my all day meeting.

Lets all pray to the lard g-ds and greeeezy establishments for El Jordan has become my lord and savior. Praises cheeses. *amen* To be honest, I didn’t even know this place was here until I accidentally walked in one day. Don’t ask where I intended on going cause I don’t remember. But I do remember that waft of a delicious smell that filled my whole body. Be prepared to just stand there, cause there ain’t no waiting area nor is there a hostess. Just lots of people running around, cleaning tables and of course… eating. A waitress saw me and said«sit wherever»…so uh, I did. Sat in a measly, old and ripped booth. It was heaven. A sweet man brought over warm chips and delicious salsa. I mean real delicious. A few minutes later the waitress dropped off(in a hurry) a huge booklet for the menu. A reason I LOVE this menu is because it was definitely created and printed with Clip Art pictures of steamy mounds of food. Who remembers the joy of Clip Art and printing from your inkjet printer? Then putting them in sheet covers to protect them fo’eva and eva! Holla! I ordered the huevos con papas. Mmmm, scrambled eggs mixed with roasted potatoes and a side of refried beans. Comes with tortillas. Good lawd!!! Delicious HUGE chunks of potato and loved that I was able to make my own little tacos. MP usually gets the burrito with eggs, jalapenos and onions. Eats it all. The overall menu is a typical divey Mexican joint. Burritos, tacos, enchiladas and soup. I’ve never had to soup here, but I notice that a lot of people order it, looks delicious. Oh and they also have chicken fingers and mac and cheese for the kiddos. Always a great crowd, both families and couples! Prices are super cheap, our meal was $ 11 — including tip. The service isn’t THAT great(I waited almost 10 minutes for my check), but this isn’t a place you go to for the ambiance. It’s a place you go to put food in yo belly! Delicious and nutritious. I’m guessing…
