ZOMG! Did a take out and couldn’t be happier. Hot and tasty pulled pork, mac&cheese, slaw, and fried okra… life is good!

I love Dickies. This site is unacceptably slow. Its taking 8 minutes per person at the meat station!

We stopped here for lunch after some shopping on a Saturday. They have specials every day of the week except Sundays. Saturday is chopped beef sandwich with 2 sides and a drink for $ 9.99, which I think is a good deal. The brisket was good quality and tender. Without sauce it was a bit dry but with sauce it was better. The cole slaw was good. The jalapeño beans were mundane, not very flavorful. The wife got corn on the cob and it was swimming in butter so it was hard to eat. I would give this place 3.5 stars. The food is good but there is some pretty stiff competition from other BBQ places in Dallas.

Very disappointed. Management changed at this location some time ago and service has been on a steady decline. However, we continued to be Sunday regulars as it is family friendly, and many of our church friends would head over for an early lunch. Our collective groups would generally take up 80% of the restaurant as it is so nearby. Several of us pulled up today to learn the hours have changed and now will not open until 11. Feeling frustrated but also amazed that a business would turn away significant numbers of customers.

This Dickey’s location is not bad. Staff was friendly and courteous. Although the brisket cutter had a hard time understanding me when I asked for a certain type of brisket. I mentioned ‘Lean’, and then he was like ‘Link’? And then I said ‘No, LEAN… Lean Meat’. And then he repeatedly said ‘Link’? As if I was buying sausage links. We finally got the situation sorted out and then I was out the door. If the portions weren’t so expensive for the amount they serve, I would return here more often.

Since the previous Dickeys we went to ran out of ribs while we were in line, we asked when we arrived if they had enough for our group. 2 of the 6 people into our orders, they informed us they ran out of ribs. Food we got was pretty good, but place was also a little dirty.

The brisket sandwich was average at best. The BBQ sauce gave it some taste. The cole slaw was good and the bbq beans(baked beans) were average. The free ice cream cone is a nice treat to top off an average meal.

Used to be good, now it stinks. Cold food. Corporate Goons have taken over. I’d eat elsewhere.

Sorry, I was not impressed at all with this location. The one off 75 is so much better. The food was just ok.

Great BBQ– and I certainly LOVEEEEEEBBQ in general… has several locations, including one inside DFW airport. The BBQ was so good in there, that I had to try it at the outside the airport locations too! Portions are WAY bigger outside the airport, and cheaper, too. All in all, great food. Love it!

Not all Dickeys BBQs are equal. This location is always friendly and they give bigger potions I do believe then others I have gone to. They also still are one of the only ones that still do the Texas Toast. They take all coupons and have daily specials as well as mangers choice.

Well, we don’t really have many BBQ places here in Texas, so figured I would give Dickey’s Pit a shot! This location is actually one of the nicer ones I’ve seen. It’s clean, the staff is friendly, and service was prompt. The barbecue isn’t bad, but it is a chain restaurant… and I prefer the«mom ‘n pop» shops that do Bbq… just a personal preference. Anyway, the coleslaw is awesome here, and the selection of meat is great. The prices are reasonable, and they also do catering events, and have an «order online» option which comes in handy. So all in all? It’s the middle of the road. Not too bad, but not the best bbq in the world. We’ll be back when we need good, fast, cheap bbq.

I was traveling through Dallas on the way to San Antonio from Milwaukee, WI and figured the first meal I had in Texas should be BBQ. After driving 20 hours I wasn’t picky and just wanted a plate of meat. I realize this place may not be the first choice for many Texans, but for a MidWestern girl it was perfect! I got the lunch time special of three meats, two sides and a drink. I went with shredded pork, chicken and turkey, as well as cheesy potatoes and baked beans. It was all Delicious! I got really excited initially when I checked in on Unilocal and saw that I could get a Free ice cream. But, while sitting there eating I realized that Everyone gets Free ice cream. Thank You to Dallas and Dickey’s for giving me my first taste of southern BBQ!

Not bad at all! My only barbecue eating experience in the Midwest prior to eating at Dickey’s was Hog Wild Pit Barbecue in Wichita, KS so, that was my only reference for comparison. Hog Wild is definitely 5-star quality! This place wasn’t far off for what I’ve had in Dallas thus far. Every dish that we had, including dessert, was quite flavorful and didn’t disappoint. I can say that I will honestly be returning for more! We went during the day, possibly around or just after noon so, it wasn’t too congested or noisy. Our companions, a few aggressive horse flies and an irritable baby that couldn’t be consoled, rattled the mood a bit, but overall a good brunch spot. Customer service was okay too; not overly friendly or helpful even though we stood by looking confused and asking questions out loud for a few minutes, but professional enough to get our orders and payment out of the way promptly.

This is a run-down location that is generally messy, tables unbussed, and an overall dirty appearance. The sides are good(if you ignore that they are all fatty) but the meat is fatty. Sausage is tasteless, but beef is pretty good(a bit too fatty and tough). There are just soo many better choices.

Damn good BBQ brisket! We had BBQ brought into the office and it hit the spot. Brisket was tender and fell apart on your fork. Sauce was spicy and tangy. The only thing missing was a cold beer, which probably wouldn’t have gone over so well with the boss.

When my hubby insisted on BBQ during our short trip to Dallas I can’t say I was jumping for joy. Personally I’d rather have sushi, but decided to be a nice wife and join up him for BBQ. While the hubby went nuts filling his plate with brisket and all sorts of sides, I played it safe and ordered their chicken. And to my husband’s dismay I even skipped the bbq sauce and ate it plain. I had the option of 2 sides with my chicken: 1) corn on the cob– eh! 2) mac & cheese– um, yum! The chicken turned out to be surprisingly good. They also give out ice cream cones at the end of the meal, which I thought was a nice touch… if only I wasn’t too full for ice cream. I’m probably not the best person to rate good ol’ Dickey’s since I’m not much of a BBQ fan. I’d still rather have sushi, but I’d be willing to come back for some more plain chicken and mac & cheese.

I had their pulled pork plate their yesterday and was reminded that I should probably stop in on Dickey’s more often. The guy cutting the meat also gave me a taste of one of their new types of sausage and it was pretty tasty. I believe it was a jalapeño and cheddar sausage. It was a little too cheesy but had a good kick that I liked. I love their spicy bbq sauce. It definitely makes the experience worthwhile. It is a little smaller than it used to be. The cut off part of the front of the restaurant. I guess they decided they didn’t need as much space as they had. That is really neither here nor there for the review but I noticed it so I thought I would share. Oh, I also recommend the soft serve ice cream as a good way to round out the meal.

I like Dickey’s and always feel like I need to get some brisket when in the lone star state. I walked over to this one while visiting family in the hospital across the way. I found friendly faces, a clean restaurant and fresh food. I love that spicy bbq sauce! I has just the right zip! And the soft serve ice cream is a nice plus when dining in. The place has a rustic, no frills vibe, but frankly that is one of the things I like about it. Makes you feel like you can hang out. I’ll be back!
