Not only were all the margs perfect, but the food was wonderful! Started with Ahi Nachos which were great. I had the filet and expected a decent cut for the price, but was very surprised to have a wonderful piece of meat cooked to perfection. Others ordered pulled pork enchiladas and fajitas. Service was excellent, very prompt to take drink orders, get water to the table and checked on us throughout evening to make sure all was well.

Cubiertos took the place of Savour. The interior looks pretty much the same, but the menu is more focused on Mexican fusion. To start, they brought out complimentary chips with 2 different salsas and bean dip. The chips were nice and thick, but the salsas were very mild and watery. We ordered some drinks, and I had the strawberry mojito. Unfortunately, this was the worst mojito I’ve ever had! It was extremely sour and had no strawberry flavor. It looked like the limes were bad, so hopefully, it was just an off-day. For an appetizer, we started with the guacamole. The smaller portion has 2 scoops, and it tasted okay. For my entrée, I had the grilled cilantro beef tacos, which came with black beans and rice on the side. The tacos were covered with 2 sauces and cheese. It wasn’t exactly what I expected, and the beef also wasn’t that flavorful. For dessert, we tried the tres leches cake. The presentation was impressive, but it ended up being too cake-y and drier than a typical tres leches cake. I will say that in terms of service, everything was great. But in regards to the food, it could have been better.

If give this place 4.5 stars if I could. The margaritas are great(some very creative options too!), guac, salsas, quesadillas — it was all tasty. Well worth the price and generous portions. I have found it hard to find a decent margarita in north Dallas(I like mambo taxis too, but cmon) and this place has it all. Not to mention a super friendly attentive and friendly wait staff. Would definitely recommend.

I attended a wedding shower on Sunday in Cubierto’s private room area, and I couldn’t be more pleased. It’s located at the Tollway and Frankford, but you’ll need to exit at Trinity Mills. It’s in the southeast corner of the shopping center. We had the appetizer samplers, and they were all fresh and tasty. I highly recommend the chips and queso. But what really made it an excellent experience was our main waitress. She was attentive without being intrusive. She anticipated needs. She even went above and beyond her duties to help with the organizing and tidying up gift wrap. She was smart and efficient. This was a true professional. Cubierto’s has a variety of tables, booths, 4-tops, as well as large round tables and booths. The chairs are large and comfortable. They have a patio and a bar area. The bathrooms are large, clean, and well appointed. This is one of those places where everything from casual to formal attire would fit right in. I recommend it most highly.

Wow, I’m really shocked reading these reviews. I had a GREAT dining experience here. I truly have nothing bad to say about it really. We were greeted at the front by a friendly hostess while we were waiting for the other half of our party. We were waiting for a while so then later another friendly gentleman greeted us too. When the rest of our party arrived, we were seated immediately at a roomy booth. The ambience is dim-lit, good music, romantic, but good for groups too. It has a way of appealing to a broad group of people. We were immediately greeted by our waitress who was friendly but not overbearing and she brought us a round of waters. One person ordered a Pepper Smash Margarita and the bartender brought it over and asked if we wanted anything else. So then we asked for 2 non alcoholic versions of it… and while most people would not respond favorably to that, he was sooo nice about it. These drinks were really well made, tasty, and not just a juice cocktail. We are really glad we ordered them their drink menu is impressive and I thought the bartender was really nice. We ordered guacamole as an app and it tasted so fresh. Everything we ordered tasted so fresh and made with real ingredients. We barely had to wait for our food — it comes out pretty quickly. Vegetarian iptions — not a ton, but enough. They have«fancy» quesadillas, veggie enchiladas(not on menu), and the Portobello Fajitas. We ordered the Portobello spinach Fajitas which were fantastic! They are not stingy with the Portobellos and it included spinach, peppers, button mushrooms, onions, potato… the flour and corn tortillas tarred homemade. This was delish! I highly recommend– vegetarian or not. Then we ordered dessert… I can’t believe how much we ate already! We ordered the cheesecake sopapilla, and a tres leches cake. Both were awesome. I don’t normally like tres leeches but this one was so good. So good. The manager also came by to check on us. The only advice I give to the restaurant is to make the beans vegetarian. It would open up a lot of options for vegetarian diners and wouldn’t require much effort. We had a very good experience as did the meat-eaters of the group(the ordered the sopes and the mole entrees). I’m stilll trying to digest all that food! :-)

I have eaten at Cubiertos twice. The first time was for lunch, and we all ate the chicken enchiladas and had a flight of margaritas. All three of us thought the enchiladas were below par in comparison to other chicken enchiladas that we have tried(even including places such as On The Border and Posados which are nowhere near gourmet style Mexican restaurants. The flight of drinks were decent, although I do have to admit that I’m not a Margarita person. The service was good. My biggest issue: The menu options were not sufficient in terms of variety and were a bit pricey. After leaving we were sure that this place was not that great, and we weren’t planning on returning. The second visit: My husband wanted to try a new place, and I lucked out on a gift from Groupon for Cubiertos. We went for dinner and surprisingly this turned out to be ok. I ordered the chicken tortilla soup. This is one of the bests that I’ve had(if you know of better ones, please let me know). The flavors were so deep. For my entrée, Mexican tacos-one of each kind. They turned out pretty good, but the chicken was not very flavorful– stick with the beef and pork. My husband had chicken and beef fajitas. They were brought out in the normal skillet dish, but we didn’t hear one sizzle, which is taboo for fajitas. My husband also complained about the tortillas being brought out in a napkin on a plate rather than a tortilla warmer-they got cold pretty quickly. For dessert, sopapilla cheesecake. You have to try it-it’s amazing! The service was just as amazing. Pros: –Nice ambiance/décor –Wonderful service(ask for Rogelio– he is top notch and never disappoints. One of the best servers you’ll ever have.) — A couple of good menu items –Good management presence –It’s also a Margarita bar, so you can just hang out and drink with friends Cons: –The menu has variety, but not the kind that is required to match its competitors and please various taste pallets. –It is described as gourmet Mexican food which can be debated with certain dishes. This ‘gourmet’ results in higher priced menu items. This is a problem because you feel that you can get more bang for your buck elsewhere. –A few kinks need to be worked out in terms of how food should be served(fajitas, tortillas, etc). –The only drinks that can be blended are margaritas. A Groupon, tortilla soup and the sopapilla cheesecake is enough to make us go back… and we will. With a few changes, this restaurant could be a new hotspot of north Dallas.

As a loyal Bonnie Ruth’s diner — we decided to give this sister restaurant a try last night. We had late reservations as we had a guest to pick up at DFW — so we arrived around 9:20PM. The place was not busy, maybe 5 – 6 other parties… we were seated immediately, given menus and told water, chips and salsa were on their way. We asked for an order of guacamole. The guacamole was the first brought out — minutes later — chips and salsa/beans. Note: the bowl of chips were all the broken pieces — no whole chips. After getting our chips/salsa, our waitress goes missing-in-action(MIA) — note — we haven’t placed a drink order yet… minutes later, she surfaces — says she sorry she was talking with a friend…(Oh I’m sorry — are you working tonight?). The overhead music was extremely loud — not sure they cranked it because it was late or if this is the normal level — our waitress had problems hearing us order our drinks, After taking our drink order, again — she goes MIA… drinks arrive — we’d like to order dinner but there is no one around to take our order… finally our waitress decides it time to take our food order — again — none of us is soft spoken — the waitress had to ask us to repeat our orders several times. Food arrives — obviously what my wife ordered and what the waitress wrote down were not the same — my wife wanted the fajita salad with chicken — she was served chicken fajitas. Daughter’s fish tacos arrived cold. Wife’s wrong chicken fajitas were served in a skillet dish and at most places comes to the table sizzling — there were dead silent and cold. I had the camarones veracruz — temperature was okay but over salted in my opinion — the dish has olives and capers in the sauce — two ingredients that will add to the saltiness of the dish — don’t think they took that into consideration. Tortillas are served on a dinner plate wrapped in a dinner napkin — obviously microwaved before serving — they got cold and stiff fast — why not invest in some of those classic tortilla steamer/warmers? At the conclusion of our meal — our waitress went MIA again — waited and waited for containers and the check… In summary — service — really bad, Food — did not meet expectations, served cold even though it was not busy at the time. Chips — never got a bowl of whole chips! Don’t see this place making it in the DFW market if this was representative what they want their diners to experience. Will we be going back? No — other alternatives — Mexican Sugar, Cantina Laredo, Luna de Noche, MiCocina, Christina’s Had high expectations since it’s associated with Bonnie Ruths but those 9 miles are distinctly different —

Had to go back for the flan again and give them another chance. We had the same waiter and again, the service was excellent! The flan was muuuuuch better this time around so I’m a happy camper. Happy hour from 5 – 7 I believe. $ 5 wells and house margaritas were great. App: Mussels-Probably one of the best apps I’ve had in a long time! Meals: Dos mole enchiladas and fish tacos. I’m a huge fan of mole and never had green mole. Very yummy! Better than the tacos in my opinion.

My brother-in-law and I came here last week using a Groupon. The place was quite noisy even though there were plenty of empty tables still. Food was not worth the price we paid. Street tacos were greasy and the chicken fajitas were nothing to write about. Guacamole still had significant chunks of avocado in it. We won’t be coming back.

I’ve wanted to check this restaurant since they changed the name at this location again. The ambiance is nice, and it’s a cool place to hang out at. A few stopped in, and we were immediately greeted. Service was on par here. I ordered the skinny Margarita, and I felt like $ 10 was a bit high for the flavor. They start you out with chips and a variety of salsas which include an avocado sauce, red salsa and black bean dip. Black bean dip was good. I saw reviews on the street tacos, so I ordered the street tacos. I ordered one chicken and 2 beef fajita taco. The chicken was a little dry so skip that. Go with the fajita beef!!! The flavor was really good for the beef. I was satisfied with the beef tacos. The rice and beans were decent. A friend ordered the combo fajita plate, and she said it was really good. The shrimps were huge! A friend at the table ordered the tres leches cake(take a look at my picture), it was REALLYGOOD! Happy hour prices are $ 5 Margaritas and wines. I’ll definitely come back.

Some people have a fear of clowns, some people have a fear of commitment, some people have a fear of spiders, I have a fear of Valentine’s Day. It started in elementary school when we had to bring a decorated shoe box to school and give everyone a Valentine. Even though I am young enough to miss the dark ages when one could pick and choice whom they were going to give a Valentine’s to, it is still rough out there. Girls know how to get around the be-nice-to-everyone rule in subtle ways such as a giving the girls they like one with a princess on it and giving one to the girls they don’t with a soccer ball on it. I was never popular. Then we have the years where I had no love interest in my life. In retrospect they were the easier ones. It sometimes felt like swallowing a pill when other’s would receive bouquets, and me nothing. The worst, though are the times when I am in a gray area with someone. Valentine’s Day gives a venue to a conversation I am not ready for. This year I am in a gray area with 2 people. Fave Vegan and The Most Interesting Man in the World. Actually, my heart is with FV even though it probably shouldn’t be as he has dumped me twice and isn’t ready to give me what I want(arhhhh). And then Most Interesting Man in the World is on the scene. MIMW is classy and old school. He is courting me like this is the 1790’s or something, meaning he hasn’t laid a hand on me. Not sure what is up with that but I do know that until someone puts a ring on my finger… Girls-that really is the only way to be. So I won’t get into how the evening played out. It actually went OK but I was really nervous and stopped into Cubiertos for a margarita and a snack before facing the evening. I had a Luxardo Margarita and a Grand Marniere one. They were both good. I love a splash of OJ in my margarita. I had the queso and it was very good. I’ll be back for sure.

Look at you, all trying to be clever with fake reviews. Cute. Anyway, here’s the real deal on this place, #1(and the reason for the one star review) I ordered a sangria/margarita swirl. My server dropped off a Bloody Mary/margarita swirl. When I brought this to my servers attention, this is the response I got: «Oh, we ran out of sangria and didn’t think you’d notice the Bloody Mary substitution.» Yeahhhhh. I’m seriously easy going and all ya gotta do is say, «dude, we’re outta sangria, pick something else.» Don’t assume I am a dumbass that can’t taste the difference in a grape and tomato. Aside from that here is what I learned: Mole enchiladas are bland Steak fajitas are meh Kids chicken enchiladas are kid friendly. Chips are okay. Oh, and the servers are sorta pushy. Can I get a minute to freaking decide what I want?! Lol @ my servers look of horror when I redeemed my Unilocal discount and he realized this epically bad experience would be posted on the Internets. Go to Mi Cocina across the street.

I ate at Cubiertos with a party of about 15 people for lunch. The service was outstanding, although we were almost the only people in the restaurant. We had been talking a lot so I didn’t get a chance to look at the menu. The waiter recommended Dos Moles to me so I went with it. It was two enchiladas — one with pork and rojo mole, one with chicken and cheese and verde mole. It also came with the obligatory rice and black beans, The enchiladas were very good and the rice was better than lots of rice I have had at Mexican restaurants. The location is a little difficult to get to if you follow googlemaps directions. They say to exit Frankford, but if you actually do that you only have about 100 feet to get over to the right lane and make the turn. In the future, I would take one exit earlier and drive up the service road to the restaurant. I checked in on Unilocal and was pleasantly surprised by a 20% off coupon. When I presented it to the waiter, however, he didn’t know what it was. He got the manager and she also didn’t know what it was. By then, two other people at the table had also checked in and wanted to use the coupon. They honored the coupons, but I don’t understand why they were surprised by their own coupon. Hmmmm.

My wife and I have been going here since they opened 2 months ago. As a native Texan who was practically weened on Mexican food, to say that I have a soft spot for Tex-Mex is a monumental understatement. That being said, If I never have Tex-Mex again I will be fine as long as Cubierto’s is here. The Mexico City style Cuisine served here is a Revelation. The Crab Enchiladas are so decadent they ought to be against the law. Their Sunday Brunch is equally amazing, and is becoming a weekly must have. Everything we have tried off of their menu is an amazing journey of Gastromic Delight that you will want to take your time with and savor to the very last bite. I will be 52 years old next month, and I can say with all honesty that I have never found a Mexican restaurant that is remotely Cubierto, s equal. If you don’t try this Astounding Restaurant it is truly your loss.

Really good street tacos, the freshness and the quality of the ingredients really made them.

Ok… I’m going to come in with the first honest, unsolicited review here. This place was formerly Savour Kitchen and Cocktail room. With the new name and décor, I figured I would give it another shot. Here’s how the night went down. Ordered a couple«specialty drinks» with tequila. They were overpoured to a point where my throat was burning. It felt like I was doing shots. I actually had to have my glass of water re-filled 3 times just to keep up with all the alcohol! Pretty sure they need some training on how to make drinks. Minus one star for this because some people would take an overpoured drink over a great tasting drink. Me? I prefer taste over amount of alcohol. Which leads me to service. Slow and not steady… did not win the race. Two managers came by and asked if we’d been served and told us that our server would be with us. It was 15 minutes at the table. Another 10 for drinks, and another 10 after that just to order. The guy was scattered and they really didn’t seem to have things under control(which starts with leadership). The food? For the most part, it’s the same food as before, but with slight changes. I had the Filet Mignon quesadilla(it’s just a steak quesadilla), and my date had the tenderloin nachos. Both were decent, but nothing too great. Here’s where I deducted 3 stars.(they WERE at 4 stars!) I went to dip my chip into the side of guacamole. The guacamole looked like a scoop, but there was a PIT in the middle! Really… a full pit from the avocado. I brought this to the waiter’s attention and he got the manager. The manager [thinking I was stupid] said they«leave the pit in for freshness]. Ok, so why didn’t my date have a pit in her guacamole? Guys… I’ve worked in restaurants for 10 years. If there’s a pit in your guacamole, it shouldn’t be there. And if the manager tries to LIETOYOURFACE about it… then there are deeper issues. Summary? The décor is much improved. The food is 3.5 stars, not the worst in town. The drinks are 1 star. The management and staff are all still the same… which is the main reason I personally won’t be going back anytime soon. There are better Mexican or Tex-Mex food places around town.

We came in for lunch today. Service was spot on. We had 3 different people waiting on us at all times. I understand some people get annoyed by that, but not me! When I go out I love great service, I want to be waited on. Love, love love there salsa. I like spicy food, but I dont like to be in pain. It was spot on for me. It was thick and you can taste the cilantro with every bite. We also started with queso. It is very different, again, thick… but delicious and I was soon hooked on it. The 3 of us polished it off. For my meal, I split the duck confit quesadillas with my boss. The order comes 4 to a plate and trust me when I say it was more than enough. The duck melts in your mouth. It is stuffed with peppers and cheeses. Every bite is a perfect combination of all ingredient. They are topped with onions and sauces and queso fresco. I wish I had gotten the entire plate myself so I could have taken 2 home and had leftovers. They have everything from traditional tex-mex, to specialties like Duck Confit quesadillas, to seafood and steaks. I will definitely be returning. This will be a place you have to try something different every time you go. P.S We did have margaritas. The bartender made me a top shelf with no sweet and sour. Only mistake was I kept ordering more. Be careful, they will sneak up on you!
