I went by myself for Hh bc it was a gorgeous evening out. I knew they had a hh but when I asked she said only buy a bottle of wine and get a pizza. Well I clearly didn’t want a bottle of wine and didn’t ask more but knowing online it said differently. After I ordered a group came and asked and she gave them a good hh menu. It then Happened to another table and they then told her that they saw her bring them another menu. Other than that the still is t great. She was rushing everyone when she did decide to come out. The food great, location great, service poor.

I’m typically not a wine bar person, and I also try to avoid chain establishments. But, I was impressed with this place. The Pear and Gorgonzola Pizza was excellent, and the service was great. I do wish they had more budget wines on the menu for us non wine snobs(or put some better beer on the menu)! The cheapest wines were $ 9 or $ 10 a glass. That gets pricey if you have more than one.

Cozy wine spot. Food is delicious! We had all the appetizers on the HH menu. Goat cheese beignets, potstickers and bruschetta were standouts! Mussels and pizza were also delicious. I had brazino for dinner and it was excellent!

They have a great happy hour with delicious appetizers and great wine flight pairings! The waitstaff was very attentive and helpful for a group of people in a bit of a time crunch! We had a lovely time and will be back!

Great location! Can’t beat that BUT! The wine and the food are really sub par… The service is really spotty and it was VERY hard to get a waitress or waiter for that matter to actually check up on me and be attentive to our table. I got up to approach the manager at 6:30 to order one more happy hour item and he said it was too late which is super lame based on the service. I would recommend going to mi cocina and grabbing a margarita and some free chips and dip and enjoying the same location :)

Let’s just say the bus boy came to the table more than my waitress did. Terrible service and a «flight» of wine for $ 17 that supposedly equals a full glass(which is doesn’t) makes for a terrible experience. It’s way over priced and service can make or break a place. I suggest checking out Taco Diner or Mi Cocina

I went twice in the span of about a week and I’m not sure why there’s only one waitress. I sat on the patio for roughly 15 – 20 minutes before being greeted, and would’ve left except I was waiting on my late friend. Either way, the service was slow and ho hum both visits. If it weren’t for the wine and great patio weather we’re having right now, I’d probably not go back. At this moment, I’m in the fence about returning.

Sorry two stars is what they getThere is a reason why this place has so many three stars. Please don’t say anything about the fact that you got a fatty fillet or that the wine that is super oxidized or old. They don’t really care. The appetizers are wonderful; just don’t try to get any real service… The waitress might have friends here and the manager really does not care…

Some Tuesday evenings at 6pm, Cru will host a ‘Wine Talk’ that features 4 – 5 different wines(think generous pours, like their flights) and 4 – 5 items off their menu to share for each wine! Each Wine Talk is based on a region or type of wine and allows you to learn about the wineries, grapes, wine, etc and of course taste special wines brought in just for the event! They are not even on the menu! My husband and I went last night, the event lasted about 2 hours, a fun way to try new wines, eat some great food and enjoy being at Cru for only $ 20 dollars a person!!! This was such a good deal! Last night was all about wines from Bordeaux and we have already signed up for Napa vs Sonoma!

My friend and I were looking in West Village looking for a nice glass of wine for happy hour. We walked into Cru Wine Bar and were greeted promptly. I inquired about the happy hour specials and was given a semi-mumbled response — «$ 3 off wine». We were invited to seat ourselves, and we selected a nice table on the patio. Unfortunately, it took another 10 minutes before a server came by and realized we did not have any menus. After we received the menus, I asked again about happy hour specials. The server finally came back a few minutes later with another menu. In a nutshell, service got off to a shaky start. The glasses of wine ranged $ 9−15/glass(without the $ 3 discount), but both my friend and I decided to try the wine flights($ 12-$ 15/flight). We though the regular price was a bit too much, but thought the value was ok for happy hour. Thankfully, we received our wine flights shortly after we placed our orders. I had the«patio weather wine» flight while my friend had the chardonnay flight. We both enjoyed our wines and the patio atmosphere. Bottom line: Happy hour wine flight deals are a decent bargain for those who like variety. Experience would have been rated better if the service was better from the start.

GREAT wine bar, conveniently located in West Village. Favorite place to grab a bite before heading to a movie at the Magnolia, which is right next door. Happy hour is M-F 4:00 — 6:30 — and it’s $ 3 off flights and glasses of wine and special small plates that are discounted. As a vegetarian, I can recommend the goat cheese beignets, bruschetta, and margherita pizza. Just a reminder: the small plates are SMALL plates! Their dinner menu has a lot of great food! I can’t wait until it’s winter again so I can order their grilled cheese and tomato basil soup! I’ve also had and loved their roasted golden beets! Other vegetarian options include: fig & gorgonzola bruschetta, cru house salad, crispy baby artichokes, caprese salad, cheese fondue, several pizzas, and cheese boards! It’s a classy, chill place! Great place to sit and try some wines!

I loved the atmosphere here. Had a great cheese/fruit tray and the service was good. Everything I’d look for in a wine bar. Edit: I went back for round 2 and thoroughly enjoyed speaking with the AGM who recommended wonderful wine.

I’ve been to Cru several times and I’m not sure why I haven’t reviewed it, since it’s my favorite wine bar in Dallas. I’ve had the cheese plates, entrée’s and appetizers, and I’d say the food is a solid 3 – 4 stars, which isn’t bad since(let’s face it) – you’re really going for the wine! They offer bottles, by the glass, flights, and enough choices to suit your wine fancy. Plus they have specials all week. What’s not to love?

They have $ 3 off of everything during happy hour, including food. It’s a cute space, and very conveniently located in West Village. They lose 2 stars for me for 2 things. 1. It can be so loud in there you have to scream. When i think wine bar, I think relaxing. Screaming = not relaxing. 2. The prices were a little steep, which is to be expected for a wine bar I suppose. Still, I’ll go, just not frequently.

Celebrated a business partnership and had a whole lot of wine here. Can’t say I didn’t feel the headache the following day. Ouch. But I enjoyed what this bar has to offer. From atmosphere to staff member recommending choices that are new to me. This place is neat.

Just like Cru in Plano — Shops at Legacy, this wine bar offers an excellent list of wine options, as well as many great eats to go with them. My favorite food item here is the Margherita pizza. Sometimes I like ordering a bottle of wine to share; however, many times I’ve taken advantage of their wine flight menu, which allows me to taste an array of flavors. The service has always been good here. The inside is dimly lit, with a romantic feeling. It’s definitely a nice spot to come and relax at!

Went for a birthday dinner with friends. Sharables: calamari and shrimp, fondue, crab cake Entrees: filet with blue cheese and the salmon When the plate of salmon came out I think everyone wanted to change their order! It looked sooooo delicious and tasted even better. I’d say the best cut I’ve had in a long time. The filet was cooked to medium and was very good. All of the sharables we great! The crab cake was amazing. The fondue was really good! The calamari and shrimp were your standard appetizer. It was good, but wasn’t blown away. Everyone got wine flights for dinner. I got the #9. All were very good red wines. I found the restaurant online looking up good places to go for fine dining. I didn’t expect the location to be so small, but they put out very good food! I would highly recommend. If I’m ever in town again they will definitely get another visit.

Favorite wine bar in Dallas! It is a small space, but has great outdoor seating, too. The back wall inside is floor to ceiling wine where they use a ladder to reach various bottles. The lighting is dim and the ambiance is very sexy/cool. Great to take a date, have a girl’s night, or unwind with a glass at the bar. The classic cheese plate is my favorite & I usually substitute blue cheese with extra manchego(my favorite). Awesome selection of white, red, & champagne. If you aren’t quite sure what you’re wanting, they offer flights of 3 to give your taste buds a little tease. Only reason for 4 stars is the length of time you must wait when it’s too cold to sit outside due to the limited space inside. Otherwise, I highly recommend!

My hubby and I came here before a movie at the Magnolia. Since it was during happy hour we took advantage of it all and of course still spent more than I would’ve thought possible. We ordered our flights(Patio Whites for me and Syrahs for hubs)…both were great and I plan to look up most of them for future purchase. Off the happy hour menu we ordered: –Goat Cheese Beignets — perfectly done and soooo tasty! –Calamari — simple and delicious, with what tasted like a homemade sauce –Steamed mussels — Echoes my description of the calamari –Margherita pizza — nice, but nothing special. I would’ve preferred more basil in larger pieces I also ordered dessert — the lemon tart. Loved the pistachio crust but I honestly think it’s way overpriced for what it was. All the desserts seemed stupidly overpriced, imo. Next time I’ll just go over to Pagiugo and get some gelato. Overall I like Crú enough to come back one of these days when we’re in the area. It’s a small space but nicely done. The service is efficient and super friendly and the happy hour menu is a pretty good deal with a decent enough variety of plates.

Cru caught me by surprise. There are glitzier dining spots around the West Village, but few have the quiet charm and class of Cru. It is a neighborhood bar, in the best sense, plopped down in the middle of a trendy shops-with-apartments-above hotspot. The staff are friendly. There are obviously regulars who stop in for an after work glass and chat with friends. The place is cozy, but nicely appointed. The kitchen is also small, but they are doing very good work in there. They are producing some really good French and American fare. I sampled a charcuterie board, well paired with our wines. The flat breads are also a treat. The wine selection is well curated and they can make a good recommendation for the neophyte. They want you to love your glass in the way an aficionado wants to share their enthusiasm. A great spot for a nice glass of wine, a delicious snack, and camaraderie.

I recently joined the Cru Club and started receiving their emails which is why we went there on Labor Day. I really wanted to sample the Kobe sliders and matching red wine flight that I heard about in an email. I also had a coupon for a free appetizer(which I received for signing up for the Cru Club). We started with the charcuterie board and it was fabulous. It contained lots of crusty bread, spicy mustard, prosciutto(those of you who read my reviews know how much I love prosciutto!), salami, fois gras mousse, olives, and manchego cheese. If you just wanted a snack this is perfect to share between two people. I had the kobe sliders. The flavor was very good, but nobody asked me how I wanted them cooked and I forgot to offer my request. They came out rare. It’s a good thing that I don’t mind that, although I would have liked them medium. There were actually a few bites I could eat because it seemed like raw meat. I didn’t bother sending it back because my husband’s food was there and sending food back is more of a hassle than it’s worth. My husband had the Cru steak pizza. Again, nobody asked how he wanted the steak cooked and he didn’t think to offer his request either. Lucky for him, it was cooked medium rare, just the way he likes it. And he really enjoyed the pizza. I would highly suggest joining the Cru Club to get the benefits that go along with it. This is a great location and the wait staff is super friendly.
