This is a new favorite restaurant in OC. The place is comfortable the service was good. I had the shrimp and crab jalapeño poppers, covered with panko and fried crispy but not at all greasy. My boyfriend had the Poc-chuc, a grilled pork filet on a sizzling platter with onions and pepper. This was very flavorful. We had the table side guacamole which was good and the chips are light and crispy. The prices are good and there is a full bar, with TVs as is typical in most Mexican restaurant. The waitress was informed on all the dishes and easily made recommendations when ask between two choices. All in all a solid meal and friendly atmosphere.

Great service. Great food. My girls had beef fajitas, and they were lean and flavorful. It was Sunday brunch, so my husband had an omelet with spinach and mushrooms, similar to my quesadilla. Both were very good. Fresh salsa and $ 8.00 bottomless mimosas are also a plus!

Went with a couple others, and we all loved our meals. I had the house salad and the skirt steak(churrasco Yucateco) with rice and beans. It was excellent. Very cool, friendly atmosphere with a full bar at the middle of the restaurant. A great addition to the increasingly cool Jefferson Avenue scene. I’ll definitely be back and will recommend this to others I know.

Great food and service. The Owner’s were extremely friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be going back to try more options. We started with the Queso Maya which was a yummy queso with black beans, beef, pico de gallo and jalapenos blended into a delicious fusion. I had the cheese enchilada’s topped with queso and fajita steak. Melt in your mouth quality. My girlfriend had the Mexico City style and barbacoa tacos which were both delicious. The atmosphere is welcoming and draws you away from the real world with the comfort of good food and company. Please try the swirl margaritas and ask for the chili-lime salt!

Café Maya, what can I say? The owners are a young and genuinly nice/fun people to talk to. It’s like BS’ing with your cousin or bff! No pretension there! The foods good. I haven’t tried everything on the menu but what I had I liked. It’s not your typical mexican restaurant so go in knowing that. Flavors are a little different, but good all the same. The drinks are AWESOME!!! I have to say I wish they were in a better location. They do have parking!; but I was kinda hoping for a patio or a balcony. Some place to enjoy their delicious cocktails! Good luck to them and see them again soon.

The vegetarian menu is IN and is awesome. I have so far sampled 4 things from it and none have disappointed. The vegetarian tacos in particular were amazing,…succulent with the sharp flavors of the achiote sauce and red onion exploding in the mouth gave me tastegasms. Sorry parents for my graphic description, they are THAT good. Please try Café Maya. Food is awesome. They have Santos beer on tap and Tito’s vodka, my favorite as well. Owners are very nice and hard working. Come on Oak Cliff and Owen Wilson, you need to go back. They rock!

I have been coming here for the past two Sundays for the branch, and I have to say I am a fan!!! $ 8 all you can drink Mimosas from 11 am — 3pm!!! Uhh. YEAH! You can also choose from OJ, or mango nectar for your mimosa… watch out because they told me who was boss the first Sunday! For food I had the Carne Asada. I asked for it rare and they made it so… wonderful! The second Sunday I had the Breakfast Torta and that thing was friggin huge! Everything you would expect in taste. We have had the same waiter both times and he kicks ass at what he does, kinda squirrely but a pretty cool kid. They are very new but and they have some things to work on but you should give them a try… I will be back!

I love this place so much! We’ve been eating here at least once a week since it opened. The owner, Sergio, and his wife are so nice. They remember us every time and make a point to come by. They are very sweet to our son too which is always a plus. They are about to release a vegetarian menu. I’ve had the sour cream enchiladas and they’re amazing! Also notable is the queso fundido. You can substitute jalapenos for chorizos and it is SO yummy. The fajitas are great too. The Maya margarita is my favorite. And, on the first wednesday of every month house margaritas are $ 1! Make sure to ask for their habanero salsa. It is so spicy and so good!

It’s my «Cheers» of Mexican restaurants! It means a lot to me that a owner remembers my name every time I come in. Good food and now offering brunch! You can pull up and park at the front door and skip the parking mess of Bishop Arts! One of my favorite neigborhood haunts!

Great service but food was badly done. I had the yucatan churrasco w chimichurri, the steak was charred and the sauce tasted old, borderline bad. The owner is super nice and has some creative dishes but should focus more on quality cooking and fresh ingredients. Sorry Sergio, just keeping it real — I want to see you succeed.

Great owner, great food, comfortable environment. My husband and I have made this our local date night place ever since we first came here. Diabolitos mariscos appetizer is amazing! Wonderful customer service! Sergio pinto, the owner, is fabulous at what he does; he remembered our names and still does and treats us well. So, if your looking for a place to feel welcomed immediately and at home with great mexican food… Search no more and get over to café maya.
