Since Bijoux is unfortunately closing(last night was their final night — had to dine there yesterday evening to pay my respects), I will write this brief, but long overdue, review. In short, Bijoux is terrific. Upscale French dining with the culinary offerings to match. If you were unable to make it to Bijoux during its tenure on Lovers Lane, please look out for the next restaurant opening in the future by this chef couple(Gina and Scott Gottlich), I guarantee you will be impressed.

Food and service was fantastic. My wife and I went for Valentines Day and enjoyed their pear salad, oysters, and I recommend the LAMB! We were also able to get a table in the back where it was less crowded and noisy. Not that it’s an issue in the main room, it just added a little more to the dinning experience. Felipe was our waiter, did a fantastic job explaining everything we ordered. Dinner for two is in the $ 200 range, but you get everything you pay for.

This is a fantastic place to go for a unique fine dining experience. The bar is very small, but this isn’t the kind of place to go before dinner and have a drink. Your best option is the Chef’s Tasting menu. This, along with the main menu, changes regularly and the wine pairings that accompany each fish are fantastic!

By far one of the best places in Dallas for intimate and fine dining. Especially if your looking for something other than another prime house. Never had a bad dish or wine pairing.

We went there for Dallas Restaurant Week. I had the Arugula Salad, Grouper and Chocolate Tart! These were all great choices! Enjoyed a great evening with my hubby!

If there was an option for 4.5 stars, I would’ve gi en 4.5. But overall experience was great for us. We went because it was retaurant week. As everyone already k ow it is a set course menu. But I didnt like the fact that they added bunch other other things in there to increase the price. If that was the case, they shouldnt have put those extras in the set menu. We started off real good w split pea soup and foie grois(? The liver). These two were just above and beyond good. The split pea soup. I would die for these. Foie grois was the best ive ever tried among other restaurants. Main course salmon was really good. The garnishes that comes with salmon are superb. The green stuff. goes crazy good w salmon. It was cooked perfect. But the duck wasnt so good. There where -.5 comes. It was like fried pork chop. Coudlnt really taste the duck. Desert. Just excellent. The cheese cake was better than the chocolate cake. Cheese cake tasted lighter. Chocolate cake was lil too dense for me. But other wise my experience here was just great. We prolly wont come back due to the price here.

It was the worst restaurant week I have been !! The optional course was mussel, the sauce is too sour and mussel is not fresh at all! And everything that is good need to pay extra money! I thought I was coming for restaurant week not regular time! So suggest don’t go this place! The duck from the second course please don’t order! We feel like we were ordering pork chop!!! This place is not worth the money u pay!

We purchased a Groupon for the 6 course Chef Tasting menu at Bijoux(a steal!). Went yesterday for a date night with the boyfriend. Honestly wasn’t sure what to expect, the Groupon we got was a fantastic deal, a bit to good to be true. This is in a shopping center, which was a bit odd. Our reservation was for 7:30pm on a Friday night. We arrived and were surprised to see only 3 tables with people. All 3 tables were over the age of 65, and casually dressed, immediately we both felt overdressed, and a bit out of place. It was filled with a lot of the natural light which was nice, but it doesn’t fit the fancy décor. It was extremely silent. We felt incredibly awkward, and out of place the first part of the evening. Since it was incredibly slow at the restaurant, the service was good, and constant while we waited. Tad awkward though, since it was sososososososo silent. They finally put light music on, around 8something, while we were in the middle of our meal. Still very silent though, we could still hear every conversation around us. Even though the ambience was uncomfortable, the food, was phenomenal. They actually don’t allow cell phones in the dining room. I’m all about food pictures, and I was so bummed I couldn’t take any of the gorgeous art that was plated in front of me. Here’s the rundown : Amouse bouche– thinly sliced ucumber with goat cheese — this was simple, and a very nice intro to the meal. 1)heirloom tomato soup; basil and crème fraîche– My soup was a tad cold, but the flavors were great, and this even had a nice little kick to it. 2)Grouper; polenta and sweet corn– I don’t eat seafood, neither does my boyfriend(no judgement) but this, was DELICIOUS. It was so moist, and perfectly cooked. The sauces were to die for. The polenta was crisp and a very nice pair with the Grouper. We were both pleasantly surprised. 3)Hudson valley foie gras; peach jam and blueberry gel– O. M. G, I could eat this, all the time. This was, amazing. AMAZING. My boyfriend is NOT a fan of foie gras, and even he was like damn. The sauces that came with this, and the peach it was served underneath the seared foie gras, was an amazing combination. This plate looked beautiful, I really wish I could have gotten a picture. 4)Rack of Lamb; Japanese eggplant gratin and local squash — My lamb was cooked and season perfectly. This was excellent, and smelled/tasted amazing. The eggplant and stacked squash was good, nothing special but the flavors were definitely there. 5)tomme de savoie; black garlic and torched strawberries– I’ve never had tome de savoie cheese before, it was delicious, and the strawberries were interesting, and went very well with the cheese. Boyfriend wasn’t a huge fan of the cheese, it was a bit strong for him. For me, the stronger the better. Can’t go wrong. Palate cleanser — coconut sorbet– If you have ever had fresh coconut then you know that whatever is out there, usually tastes nothing like it. I literally thought I was eating the coconut meat right out of the shell. Perfect transition to dessert. 6)stacked chocolate– I love rich chocolate and raspberries. This was super rich, so right up my alley. The boyfriend isn’t huge on rich chocolate but the ice cream and brittle this came with he loved. I was indifferent to it, so this plate pleased both ends. haha Overrall, the food here was amazing, and really is worth the $$$. I am very surprised this place isn’t packed. The quality of the food should be noticed more. Yes, the ambience needs work, I can’t deny that awkwardness ever went away, but if they darkened the room a bit more throughout the day, dimmed the lighting for ambiance more, and hiked up the music so you can’t hear the 2 tables near you, then this is easily a quick thing to overlook. Around the 8:30−9pm the sun had completely went down, so it was more of a romantic lighting than the brightness when we first entered(still a bit to bright for a restaurant in my opinion). A few more tables came in, other couples, 2 were a bit younger so it wasn’t just us, the others were older, so the room ambience was definitely better that last half of the evening before the first.

This is a lovely and welcoming restaurant. We were ushered to our corner table by the window that had cushy seats. Nice! After a nice amuse-bouche surprise(a goat cheese something or another) we started with the Antelope Carpaccio and Foie Gras. Both were amazing. The carpaccio was perfectly paper-thin served with greens. It was hard to share with the hubby. But once I tasted the foie I was in heaven. Our order was served with rhubarb and strawberries and a little biscuit… it was heaven. It was silk perfection on my tongue when I had the right amount of everything in one bite. I would gladly suffer from gout if I could eat more of that. I then ordered the Cheek and Tenderloin Pork Duo which was delicious, though I thought the crust on the tenderloin was a bit too salty. My husband ordered the filet, though they tried to talk him out of such a mundane dish for some reason: «You can order a filet anywhere in town, why don’t you try the Wagyu beef cheek instead?» Then why do you have the mundane filet on your menu? Anyhoo, hubby isn’t a huge fan of cheek meat so he kept with the filet, which was nice and tender like buttah, but yes it was a bit boring. Dessert was the Baumkuchen Cake, which was nice, but nothing special. I probably should’ve gone with the soufflé. We had some nice wines by the glass throughout the meal that were suggested to us and they were good choices. All in all a very nice birthday dinner. However I wouldn’t necessarily call it a true French restaurant. I think they want to be more of a bistro now, but that still doesn’t fit, imo. It’s a nice place with good service and good food but there is something a little stuffy and old-world about it, not that that’s necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes we just need a bit of quiet refinement in our lives so I’m glad Bijoux is around for that.

Holy baby oysters with grapefruit and chives! The food at Bijoux is on a different level. My god. THATBLUECHEESESALAD! Oh oh oh! And The Grouper ANDTHE pork belly AND Carpaccio omg and the soufflé. It was all perfect. Yep, the food at Bijoux is greater than Stephen Pyles, Abacus, AND The French Room. So why won’t I be back? Because I am not 97 years old. Bleh. Bored boring bored. Maybe, it’s because I have eaten food of Bijoux’s quality in Portland and Austin in a much more casual atmosphere and at this point, I am just over the stuffy up tight service. The music was SO loud, and I couldn’t hear my husband. I remember being bored at dinner, because I was basically eating alone. Good food is worth the price and I am willing to pay for it, but I think a restaurant should be full on fancy like The French Room or more laid back. I was so confused, the décor led me to believe it WASN’T fancy, but the waiter was veeeeery formal. You should eat here for the food, but get real drunk first to make it fun.

I felt like I was in someone’s home. Personal touches make you feel like this venue is unpretentious and the food is amazing. Run by a husband and wife, Bijoux has the perfect atmosphere for that fine dining experience you are hoping for with the personal touch that makes you feel like they have waited for your arrival all evening. We started with the crab salad(a little underwhelmed), the foie gras(almost like a dessert), the pork belly(melt in your mouth) and the king prawn(shut your mouth!!) appetizers. The pace of these meal was perfect. Gina, the owner actually waited on us and was very gracious in her approach and service. She had perfect recommendations and was so kind to muse my dad’s foodie stories. Main entrees included the black bass, munk fish, pork tenderloin, and duck. We usually pronounce a winner at dinner but this time we all won. The dinner finished up with the blue cheese, bananas foster and coffee. Even after all of that I was perfectly full… not stuffed but in my happy place. Sooooo glad we came here. We had no expectations but yet we were so surprised by this little jewel.

My friends and I were here for restaurant week and I must say that I am a fan! Although, I definitely cannot afford to return often, I am glad that I had a chance to try it. The service here is impeccable. My water was never empty and neither was my wine glass. When I went to the restroom, they folded my napkin back up for when I returned. Very attentive! The food is also amazing. I had the salmon and I must say that it was perfectly cooked, drenched in a delicious sauce. The corn soup, on the other hand, was less to be desired although the presentation was great. The servers poured the soup from a gravy boat-esque container into my soup bowl with tomatoes inside. Luckily, they gave us complimentary salmon crustinis to cleanse my palette after my soup. My friend also ordered the mussels, which were delicious. My other friends got the steak, which was the most tender and delicious steak I have ever tasted. However, my favorite part of the meal was dessert! The chocolate souflee cake is to die for! I am definitely going back for dessert!

Sometimes you are just in the mood for a good tasting menu. This is what we go to Bijoux for. Their service is good, but not stuffy. Their food is always solid, their pairings work and they give you such a variety of different flavors. You can choose from the menu during the week if you’d like. It is quiet and quaint. I’m just not sure why there aren’t more people in there when we go. It is interesting that I almost gave it 3 stars because the food really merits a 4. The only reason is because the pace of the meal was very slow which didn’t make sense considering we were one of only four tables there at the time.

Sometimes you have to give places a second chance, and I’m so glad I did that with Bijoux. Came here for the first time during Restaurant week, and it was a 2 star experience. But… since I love French cuisine so much, and the selection for French restaurants in Dallas is so limited, I went back for a second try. This time, it was phenomenal. During our RW visit, we paid extra for an appetizer to get the foie gras. If you know me, you know I love foie gras like it was my child… except I eat them. The foie gras was greasy and lacked flavor. I understand foie gras is made up of more than 80% of fat, but it felt like bad oil. My truffle risotto was as boring as watching paint dry. It was bland and tasteless, or perhaps truffle risotto is not my thing. The corn soup was forgettable. My boyfriend had the ribeye filet and I wasn’t a fan of that either. I know French people can make amazing steaks, but I’m not sure what happened here. During our second visit, I felt like I was eating at a different restaurant. The food completely turned 180 degrees for the better. We had antelope carpaccio as a starter. You don’t understand how excited I was to see this on the menu. I have never had antelope before, but anything wild and exotic really gets my attention. The carpaccio was not gamey. It was utterly amazing. But the star of the show was the pork belly with foie gras fried rice topped with a quail egg. OMG!!! It was the best pork belly and fried rice I’ve ever had. This is an absolute must get at Bijoux. I fantasized about it the next day at work. We also really enjoyed our pancetta wrapped pork tenderlion and braised wagyu beef cheek. It was surprisingly delicious. We ended the night with pumpkin spice soufflé. I also had the chocolate soufflé before. These are the best souffles I’ve had so far in Dallas. It beats the French Room and Rise no.1 by miles. I’d give this place a 5 stars, but I won’t because. 1) I had a bad experience the first time 2) the service was still bad, our waiter was not attentive. 3) this place is really boring. I was surrounded by senior citizens. The restaurant is very quiet and elegant but not that pretty. It’s great for 2 – 4 person dining, any more than just seems too much 4) they didn’t give me enough foie gras fried rice. I can seriously eat the pork belly and the fried rice all day, everyday. Overall, I was extremely happy with my return visit. The price is pretty reasonable for authentic and high quality French food. Approximately $ 55 per person for a three course meal, unlike the French Room which was $ 80 per person. I can see myself coming back here more often.

Bijoux has excellent food and incredible service. I like the ambiance. Has a nice cozy feel. They also have petite size entrees to encourage trying more menu items. A lot of their bad reviews seem to come from Restaurant Week. I feel Restaurant Week is hazardous to a fine dining restaurant. They are expected offer high quality food at budget prices. And Restaurant Week tends to attract a crowd that are epicuriously illiterate. In fact, I avoid Restaurant Week. Here’s a review of the food we tried. Sugar Pumpkin Soup was a great start. It’s not as sweet as the name suggest. It was well balanced and set the tone for the rest to come. Crispy Pork Belly was perfection. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. And it comes with foie gras fried rice! Pan seared foie gras was well cooked. Traditional accompaniment of fruit compose and port reduction. Lots of places tend to overcook the foie gras. Not here. Chestnut Agnolotti was strangely forgetful. I mean that literally. I forgot everything about it. It wasn’t bad, it was just very average and didn’t stand out. Braised Wagyu Beef Cheek is fantastic. I’m craving it now. This is a classic French fare. Tender and flavorful. Beautifully executed. Pumpkin Spiced Soufflé is probably the best I’ve had. The name describes it all. The crème anglaise was heavenly. The only thing to do it go try it. Will RTE very soon.

I dined with a group of 8 during restaurant week. Bijoux’s service was excellent. The owner herself tended to our table, as well as several other staff. All were poised and professional. The food arrived in a typical French manner, slowly and steadily, allowing us to relax and talk in-between courses without having to wait TOO long. But the food itself was just… meh. My arugula salad, haricot verts and mussels were simply average. Frankly, the mussels were no better than the Old Monk on a busy Friday night. The beans had a strange taste… not sure what the chef was going for but I think he missed it. My soufflé was divine; no complaints there. And my steak and potatoes were very, very good. But I’ve been to many places that prepare a very good steak, for half the price of Bijoux’s normal menu. I had a nice meal, but it wasn’t worth Bijoux’s normal menu prices.

A group of 3 of us came here on a Tuesday night to celebrate a birthday. Bijoux is tucked in the back-middle of the shopping plaza, which was a bit confusing at first. Once we went inside, the décor was just adorable. Antique-style, romantic furniture and simple décor. The seating area is pretty small, but considering we were one of 2 groups there, it was relaxingly cozy. The host helped us find the perfect wine and was really friendly and helpful. The meal began with an amuse bousche of soup, which was AMAZING. Thick, hearty, but tiny so it didn’t full your stomach. I ordered the arugula salad(great, but nothing amazingly special) and tasted the BF’s pork belly appetizer. The pork belly was amazing, and beautifully prepared. Then came the boar ragu papparelle which didn’t taste too gamey, but had great flavor. The mint garnish was a nice surprise. I might steal this for my own ragu at home. I also got to taste the salmon tartare which was just fatty enough, and was so good on the potato chip. I also ordered a half order of the truffle risotto which had so much garlic flavor, but I have mixed thoughts about the truffle shavings. I’ve never had truffle before and was expecting an mouth orgasm — I didn’t get that. We continued with the ballerina cheese course. The parmesan was so rich and perfect with the mushrooms. I would get this again! They then brought out a chambord ice cream, compliments of the pastry chef for the birthday. It looked sad(one tiny teaspoon of ice cream), but it was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good. omg. I only took an itty bitty bite, and it was so creamy, that it was all I needed. I’m definitely ordering a dessert next time. I need to test this pastry chef out! :P Come to Bijoux for a relaxing, romantic meal. Great service, great food, good wine. We will definitely be back.

Went here for Restaurant Week and it was delicious. They had amuse bouche of cured salmon which was perfect and delicious. I got the mussels and omg delicious! Then the salmon with cous cous and finished with chocolate molton cake. Everything was delicious with great service. Definitely will be back for another nice occasion. This is definitely a place to be dressed up for :)
