Best Western Market Center

Probably one of the worst Best Western stays I’ve had. First issue was with booking. My father booked and paid for the room in advance. When we got there they had no record of it being paid for. We gave them our card just so we could get in a room. We later called corporate and got the charge returned.
The first room they gave us was still being lived in. We went to the desk and he put us in another room. What a dump! The walls had clearly been plastered/​painted and they had done a really crappy job. It had a new vanity and new tv but the carpet and toilet were very old and the beds were very stiff. At one point in the night I contemplated trying to sleep in the lounge chair that was in our room instead of the bed. The answer we received when we inquired about the wifi was «keep trying». The doors were uneven and would stick or not even close. It seems like they were doing an update or remodel and stopped when they got to the important stuff. The only nice thing about it was its closeness to the places we were going. Every piece of literature we saw also stated that check-​out time was Noon; we were called at 11:25AM to see why we were still in the room and if we didn’t leave soon they were going to charge us for another day because «housekeeping had to get in there and clean». I would not recommend this particular location to anyone.

Highly don’t recommend unless you are in desperate need of stay.

My one star goes to the staff. That’s it. The hotel room was horribly taken care of. Stains everywhere, bugs on the floor, candy too! Also, left over bottles in the fridge as if no one checked it to clean it. Not sanitary what so ever. I am so upset.

Stayed here while in Dallas, trying to find a bargain spot. Definitely got what I was asking for. I’m not from around the area, so when I got to the hotel I was kind of in shock. The actual area this place was in was not nice at all, it was actually kind off sketchy, and dirty. The hotel is definitely dated, and needs some renovation, or at least a décor updating. The room I stayed in was very small, about 2 feet of space on the sides of the king sized bed, then there’s the dresser with the TV right in front. Good thing was the bathroom was clean and well kept, and pretty spacious, seeing how to room itself was not. AC was nice and cold, and the room itself was clean. Only thing I was really upset about was the giant wad of bright green gum stuck under the nightstand. Which was in clear plain sight to see. If I didn’t miss it, how could housekeeping? Other than that this place is a good spot if your looking to save money, and don’t mind staying somewhere that’s not easy on the eyes, but fairly clean.

I had a good experience here. Staff was courteous and rooms were managed and cleaned well. I didn’t have any problems, Wi-​Fi was good, the free breakfast wasn’t amazing but it was enough. Would definitely consider going back.

The WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! The first red flag was when the front desk clerk gave us a flyer with instructions on how to fix the TV if it would come in fuzzy. He said they were transitioning to HD and were having problems with the picture. (They could have told me when I booked the room earlier). I get to my room and it is super small and very old! OK so I turn on the TV and all I get are Spanish stations. I try the steps the flyer suggests and nothing works. I call front desk and the clerk says «well sorry». I asked to get moved to another room and he says «well keep trying TV again». OK well I keep trying and nothing. I call again and he says OK come to front desk and I will move you. I pack up all my stuff go downstairs and he gives me another room. This room was worse than the first! The TV works but the AC doesn’t! Worst nightmare ever! I would have packed up and left but was extremely tired from driving all day and no rooms at any hotel nearby available. I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN! Oh and pool was under construction and cement dust and noise all day!

This is our go to hotel when we visit Dallas. We have business conferences and they kindly receive our boxes and graciously offer business services. The breakfast room is always clean and the staff courteous. The staff goes out of their way to be helpful.

I didn’t hate it but didn’t love it.

The towels and clothes were kind of ghetto
The bathroom was super tiny and cramped
My god damn key wouldn’t work every day. I’d take the super slow elevator up, key wouldn’t work. Take it down get a new key. Repeat daily.
There’s nothing great in the area to eat. There’s a Denny’s or go to the hotel next door which is way fancier and pricier restaurants.
I didn’t have a car so that screwed me a bit, otherwise I could have drove places to eat. Still the hotel overall wasn’t that great.
Not the nicest Best Western for sure but not a total shithole.

I stayed at this Best Western this past weekend and it was horrible. First off, the bathroom was very poor. It had bugs crawling around it as well as the commode top not fitting on the throne. There was mold on the shower curtain and the water pressure was horribly soft.
Second the beds where adequate but the room itself was way too cold. It felt like a meat locker. When we tried to lower the temp we couldn’t get a happy medium. It was either too hot or too cold.
On our second night stay, we came back to the room and the smell of marijuana was heavy outside of our room. When we walked inside, the smell was worse than outside. I called the front desk and he said that there wasn’t anything he could do about it. I have two kids that had to breath that until we aired out the room.
I am glad that I didn’t pay for the room but I am sorry that I had to use my Best Western points for this stay. It might be centrally located to everything in Dallas but it will never get my business again.

A nightmare from beginning to end… horrible doesn’t do this rat hole justice. To start with, when we pulled up a drunk couple was entering the lobby cursing loudly at each other. Lots of unsavory characters roaming the parking lot. The room, err dungeon, was damp, hot and dark. The room door was difficult to lock and the bathroom drains gurgled whenever we turned the water on… ugh. The next morning we left early to go the reunion for a convention and came back to the room only to find a water pipe had broken. I called the front desk to find out why the water wasn’t working and the clerk, who was obviously overwhelmed told me he couldn’t refund our card and that we’d need to call the manager the next day to get our money back for that night. Luckily, we were able to find him and get that nights charged reversed. This was the absolute worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in… fortunately, we were able to get a room at La Quinta by the airport that was much better. Guess that’s what we get for trying to save a few coins. Oh, and did I mention I found several bites on my legs the next morning. Gawd only knows what’s living in flea bag of a hotel. Disgusting…

I stayed here 8÷30÷14 for one evening. The room was clean and the staff was nice. The breakfast had sausage and waffles. As far as hotels go, it was not bad. The staff was super friendly and nice.
My issue though was that the staff gave away our room number to a stranger. Long story short someone was looking for us, we had no idea of this at first. Our room phone just started to ring at 2 am and we ignored it, it kept calling. I unplugged it. Then there was knocking at our door. I was mad! It was 2 am and I was woken from my sleep by someone who I would have not known what room we were staying in.

I have stayed at this Best Western in 2006 and 2010. I enjoyed both stays. I recently stayed there and will never go back again. Everything has gone way down hill with this Best Western
I booked a room for four people with two queen size beds. When I went to check in, the person at the front desk was giving me a hard time that I will have four people in my room. Though, she said, I don’t have to worry about it since the hotel is booked so the manager will not make me get two rooms. I thought that was crazy!
The towels in the room were very poor quality. They felt rough. I received only two towels every day for 4 days, even though I told the front desk again that I have four people in the room. When I asked the front desk for more towels, they gave me an even worse set of pool towels.
The room looked a little run down. The AC did not keep the room reasonably cool enough during the day. Bugs all over the place. I found a dead spider in my bed one day. Bathroom is so small. At least the room had a fridge.
The hot breakfast is a joke nowadays and should not even be considered a hot breakfast. The only hot items are make your own waffle and heat up a very small breakfast sandwich. The breakfast room appeared to be smaller than when I stayed in the past.

Zero stars… 1 because they made me.
I booked this room at the last minute. Primarily because it was close to where I needed to be for work.
2 nights were booked. The AC went out at 3:30 in the afternoon, ½ hr after checking in. we were told that it had been repaired earlier that day, and that the repair man would be returning.
We went out for the evening and returned at 8 pm to find the room feeling like an oven. When I spoke to the desk clerk I was told that the repairman was returning in the morning, he was not able to make repairs till then. I was told that we could sleep with the door and window open as many in the building were doing.
Parking lot lights and domestic disputes, raccoons in the dumpster and birds before dawn. Not much sleep was had by either of us.
The hotel staff seemed very nonchalant about the situation. I guess they weren’t very uncomfortable as the office was on a separate, working, AC unit.
Upon returning that afternoon the AC was working but termites were infesting the room, coming out of the window casing…
Needless to say I did not spend another minute in that room.
The hotel manager felt that the only compensation for the worst experience I have ever had in a hotel was $ 20 cash back.
I was insulted and left.
I’ll take it up with my credit card company…

I stayed here when I was vising Dallas for a hockey game at the American Airlines Center. It was pretty good for being like a 2 ½ star hotel. It looks trashy on the outside: orange paint, dying palm trees, almost identical to the Days Inn across the street. The rooms also had weird paint but the furnishings were very nice and our room was clean which is really what I care about.
The location is pretty good, just a little over a mile from the American Airlines Center. We decided to walk to the game and Google Maps gave us nice walking directions going through the Design District.

Warning warning warning!!!
This place is a DUMP! It should say motel 6 out front.
–no towels in the hotel. ZERO.
–no washcloths
–no soap
–no sugar/​creamer to go with this wack in room coffee.
–elevator doesn’t work.
THE WORST PART-​they have BED BUGS!!! This place is filthy and I will never stay at another Best Western again. Period!!!

Best Western Market Center is in a nice area just NW of downtown. There are excellent restaurants close by. The service is excellent. The building and rooms were clean and tastefully decorated. I have been in hotel rooms in the $ 300 price range and they had nothing on my room at the Best Western Market Center.

We recently stayed here during a stay in Dallas. I wasn’t impressed upon walking in the door. We were staying with a group so we decided to check in. There are crickets every where, quite disgusting! Our room was cleaned the second day and no towels were left. We went down after a long day of competition to get towels only to be told that they didn’t have any. Really? The front desk clerk reluctantly found some towels for us. We never got wash rags to wash our faces, we were given a swim towel for that. We checked out the next morning. The staff is not trained to give a high level of customer service and was not very concerned with any of the issues the people in the group had. Many of the other people in our group also had several problems. We went across the street to the Courtyard Marriott and that was well worth the additional $ 10 per night.

For the price… I guess the hotel is OK. When I arrived the lobby had a foul odor and the carpet needed vacuming. The staff was friendly. The room was OK. Very good bed. Sofa had a tear in the fabric. Safe was on the floor in the closet… no light in the closet… nearly impossible to operate. Everything else in the room was fine and hit all the best western marks. The room AC worked great. I had a king balcony room… unfortunately it overlooked the front parking lot, noisy street and Denny’s. Not the properties fault… but not great for a little outside space. The pool was cloudy and more residental in size. The hot tub was definately residental and gross… it was empty with mud in the bottom. The vending machine had condoms and femine products next to the doritos and snickers… Is that normal???

The price was reasonable, but the stay was brought down by a series of problems. The heater was not working well, the room was cold and the hotel ran out of extra blankets during the winter. This is not a normal hotel problem.
Also, the room was kind of beat up looking. The door was unable to close easily for much of the stay and required a lot of funny tricks to get it to work.
The price was reasonable but everything else was sub-​par.

A 3 star place, but 4 star since it’s cheaper and better than the Ramada across the street. Place was mostly clean and they gave a lot of free brand name supplies like Olay shampoo and Dove body wash and even a tooth brush.
–Dish networked tv.
–Central AC, so not as strong as a normal in the wall one. And it took a long time to cool down my room.
–They redo the breakfast room, so it’s smaller, but still a lot of choices in the morning for the complementary breakfast.
–There is a jacuzzi outside next to the pool.
–There is a small workout room with treadmills.
–There is a small room with 2 computers to use.
The people at the front desk are nice and accommodating. Overall, it’s pretty good place is still for the price.
