I let my 5 year old pick this place and man oh man did he not disappoint! The wonton soup and Bangkok city fried rice are our two favorites and even after a week my son was still talking about it, begging me to come back. This will now be a regular spot for us!

Love finding a good Thai food spot in Dallas. Food is authentic enough for me(don’t know if I have the credentials to claim that). Service is quick and friendly. A nice hole in the wall to stop in for lunch or a quick bite, probably not a date night destination in my opinion, but great food at a good price.

Yummy. Attentive service and pleasant ambiance. Loved the coconut soup-fragrant and delightful with a creamy butteriness. A trip to the tropics! Tried the basil noodles with beef(drunken noodles /pad kee mao) for the first time and was delighted with flavors and textures. The wontons had a savory cream cheese filling. All in all, I’d go back again!!!

Pineapple fried rice is one of our favorites here. Good soup… Everything we have had has been good. Nice staff. Give it a try!

The best fried rice I’ve ever had in my life. If you love ultra spicy food, I recommend the pepper fried rice 4 star spicy. When I first discovered this restaurant, I ate here once a week for about six weeks in a row, and the very same dish I mentioned. A buddy of mine also said that the Pad Thai is the best he’s ever had. I intend to try many more dishes presented on the menu but I just can’t get enough of their fried rice. I’ve dined in once, the service was very prompt and attentive. Various waitresses filled my water glass without asking more times than I can count as they probably could see I was trying to cool my mouth off after devouring my amazing dish. No complaints or negative observations. The menu is a little pricey but so far worth every dollar.

Love this place when I’m in town. Consistent. Good food and service. Green curry and soup are the best.

I called in an order for delivery and our total was $ 19.00. They have a delivery minimum charge, which I can certainly understand, of $ 20.00. The would not deliver anything to us unless we added an item even though our order was $ 1.00 shy of the minimum. I even offered to put it towards the tip, but since they were not accommodating, instead of adding a pricier item, we called somewhere else with NO minimum delivery charge. Terrible customer service, in my opinion. If it was my restaurant, and someone’s order was $ 19, I would deliver it anyway and not even bring up the one dollar difference.

I came here the other night, I haven’t been here for more than a decade. I remember it being very tasty. I was not disappointed, they have not change a thing! the portions are even larger and the rice is authentic great service and everyone was very nice with a smile.

Starving after a long drive back to Dallas, plus I needed to carb up that night, it was either pasta or some Thai food, I and my friend agreed on Thai food and started looking on Unilocal for a place nearby. We found Bangkok City with bunch of good reviews plus it seemed to be pretty close to Uptown, so eager for some good thai food, we were fast on our way, expecting to arrive in a nice area… Completely the opposite from what I expected. I got a little nervous after pulling into the neighborhood, it’s located in one of those areas that’d make you feel safer having a gun on you before getting out of your vehicle(trust me, it helps lol). Good thing they have plenty of parking in the back(side?), so didn’t take us long to park our car. Don’t let the neighborhood or the outside of the restaurant scare you. It was nice and very cozy on the inside. It was pretty busy on a Wednesday night when we got there, so that was a good sign. I was starving and my friend was willing to pig out with me as well, so we ordered the drunken noodles, pad thai, and basil garlic shrimp. Everything was very flavorful and the portion was decent. The service was fast, tho we’d have to flag down our waitress every once in a while to request service. I would definitely come back here if I was in the area and with some friends. Wouldn’t feel too comfortable venturing in here by myself.

This place has the best Thai ever. I’ve been eating here for over a decade and not been disappointed once. Spicy basil noodle is fantastic as are the fried rice dishes. Love this place!

The service here is really friendly, but the food for us was just OK! The Pad Thai was oddly sweet, but did have a pretty good flavor. The fried rice was a bit over seasoned but had a lot of meat. The Tom yum soup is not something I’d order again… it’s super sweet and the chicken was really dry and rubbery with no flavor… definitely not what I’d expect for Tom Yum. I’d try them again just to make sure, everyone has off nights!

Awful awful awful place!!! have ordered Thai food many times from here and usually it has too much seasoning but ehh we still ordered the food. Well I can say now I will NEVER order food from here again. The«owner» the elder black/grey haired lady has absolutely awful customer service! Horrible experience. Luckily I was ordering to go and was able to have everything refunded. What initially happened was that I was making an order to go and for some reason my card was unable to process through. I knew there was plenty of money on my card but I would have been fine using another card had she not been rude. She states your card isn’t good how do you want to pay. I was like I’m sorry my card is OK I even checked my online banking. And I asked if she could try it again she says no it isn’t going through do you have another card, do you still want the food. I got out my other card and just used that. She makes another statement saying yes my machine is fine it must be your card, she says just go sit over there before I go further!!! I said excuse me you have very poor customer service, I would like a refund thank you. I then went to our usual Thai place and ordered the same thing and paid with the same card where it went through just fine!

Bangkok City is my favorite Thai restaurant – and not to mention the BEST Thai restaurant – in Dallas. I have searched far and wide throughout the city and I nothing has satisfied my cravings for Chicken Satay and Basil Noodles quite like they have. I found Bangkok City on Unilocal like I do with most places and the reviews were very impressive. I knew I had to come check it out. I mostly come here for dinner and have been in for lunch on a few occasions. They have an affordable lunch menu that runs Monday-Friday, and I believe they allow carry-out orders on the lunch menu as well. The lunch menu is compiled of the most popular dishes, like Pad Thai and Yellow or Red Curry, and comes with a soup and salad. My favorite items are the Chicken Satay, Basil Noodles, Pad See Ew and Beef Panang. The Thai Ice Tea is delicious – not too sweet but not too bitter. Bangkok also offers tofu substitutions for vegetarians, as well as brown rice instead of steamed white rice. Make sure to ask for a take-out box because the portions are huge. As far as service goes, there is hardly ever a wait for a table and I have never had an issue with food coming out wrong. The waitstaff is incredibly friendly and very attentive. They make sure you have everything you need for an enjoyable dining experience and don’t hover over your table the entire time. To-go orders are fairly quick if the restaurant isn’t busy. I don’t live in the neighborhood, however, I believe they do local deliveries for orders $ 20 and up. If you are in Dallas and you’re craving Thai food, look no further. You will not regret it!

Let me start by saying, I LOVE Thai food! I love the spicy, saucy, complicated flavors of Thai dishes. I get cravings for it all the time and my roommates and I usually order food from Si Lom. We decided to try delivery from Bangkok City this time. We ordered Pad See Ew with Chicken and the Pad Woon Sen(glass noodles). Pad woon sen was a little bland, but I haven’t ordered that in years so that may be a normal flavor for the dish. Pad See Ew was decent but also not the best. I’d try this place again, but for the price I prefer other Thai places in Dallas.

Come for the soups! Pad Thai was mediocre but the soups were outstanding. Service was accurate but not exactly friendly. Good place for lunch with coworkers.

I normally call in here as I live right down the street and I don’t think my roommate and I have ever called in an order and not had to wait a significant amount of time for our food once we got there. It’s fine if it’s a 45 minute wait, but don’t tell me 30 minutes and then have me stand there for an additional 15 while you scramble around and there’s a long line of other people waiting for their food. It’s really frustrating and especially when it’s busy and you can’t sit down, there’s no place to stand to wait for your food when you’re not in the way. Food is good though. I usually get the chicken pad thai and portion size is large. My roommate loves spicy food and says that she’s never ordered her traditional dish(SPICY basil noodle) and gotten it even halfway spicy. I tried hers last time and it literally had 0 spice. Other than the wait and lack of spice in the food, it’s a decent place inside.

I absolutely love Bangkok City’s food. I usually get their eggrolls as an appetizer and the yellow curry as an entrée. This time around, I was not happy with their service. It took us about an hour to get our food and we had to ask for it to-go because it took so long. They were extremely busy so if you’re on a time crunch, I wouldn’t recommend eating here. I won’t hold that against them though because I have eaten here several times and I have been extremely satisfied every time.

I LOVE Thai food and this place did not disappoint. My kickball league is sponsored by the bar next door and I would have never known this place existed if it was not for my one annoying friend with her no bar food«dietary restriction.» Luckily, she was picky and made us eat here before kickball because the food is absolutely delicious! Don’t let the exterior fool you. The interior is updated and looks very clean. The service is prompt and friendly. My water class never went empty. I ordered the Basil noodles(per Unilocal recommendations) and they did not disappoint. In fact everyone kept eating off of my plate because they thought it was so good. One of my girlfriends ordered the duck curry and it was also delicious, just a tad on the sweet side, which I liked. My other friend ordered the basil chicken or something. It came with rice instead of noodles and was also delightful. We will definitely be back. Hopefully make it a regular meal before kickball!

Excluding fast food places, no restaurant has earned more of our business over the last 20+ years than Bangkok City. We’ve eaten at many other Thai restaurants in DFW over this time, but none have displayed the excellence or consistency of Bangkok City. The interior is clean and simply decorated. The service is attentive and pleasant and Jan always stops by to see how we’re doing. There are so many above average dishes here that I think you probably can’t go wrong with any of them. Favorites include steamed Thai dumplings(with toasted garlic bits on top!), Panang Curry, Basil Noodles, Pla-Rad-Prig(deep fried whole fish) and my all-time favorite, Pad-Gra-Prow(Fresh Basil). While other places offer nice renditions of the above, I’ve never found one that comes close the Bangkok City’s Pad-Gra-Pow. Here’s to another 20+ years of excellence at Bangkok City!

I love me some good Thai. Over in the area around Baylor Medical Center, this is the best Thai you’re gonna find. I’ve definitely had better Thai, but, these guys whip up some bad ass dishes, and, they deliver in the surrounding area. You can select your own spice level. Go on, do the Native Thai. It will definitely fire up your hole. I’ve been here for lunch several times. They have a decent lunch menu offering 14 dishes for $ 9 — $ 10. With that, you get either a soup or salad. I wish they’d add a egg roll to the lunch menu like most other places. For the price, the dishes should come with a egg roll. Just sayin’. Parking can be a bit tricky, but, I usually find a spot on the street in front of Bryan Street Tavern(BST). Don’t park at BST, because they will tow. However, if you know the staff at BST, you may be able to work something out. I always select the soup of the day option, because it’s usually a safe bet in most Thai places. The coconut milk soup, with the lunch menu, is hands down the best version of that soup I have ever had. I was like«Wow! Boys, that’s one delicious cup!». Good job Bangkok City(BC)! I’ve noticed that the soups don’t always match the description on the menu, which is fine with me. I like a little mix in the game, as long as it’s a good one. One day I went in for lunch, sorry I don’t always post pictures on every visit, and the soup of the day, according to my waitress, was Spicy Egg Drop. I was like, «Oh baby yeah! Bring it on!». What I got was a cup of spicy Hot-n-Sour. Nothing fancy or making it stand out above all the other Hot-n-Sours that I’ve had, with exception to the spice factor. That was the winner with this soup. I asked another waitress what the soup was, cause it clearly wasn’t Egg Drop, and she said it was«Spicy Noodle». WTF? As for the main dishes, I am wild about the Basil Chili dish with soft Tofu(always gotta be soft). Put a Native Thai heat factor to it, and, you got one bad ass dish right there! They do this dish perfectly every time I order it. I’m up to about four times now, but, who’s counting. The Silver(Glass, Sweet Potato) Noodle dish is another winner with me, however, the noodles tend to be on the over done side of things. I most always do soft Tofu with all my dishes, and, I like the way they char the edges here. Overall I would throw down five stars for these guys, but, when the waitresses are just as confused about the soup as you are, that’s a problem. The food here is pretty damn good, and, yes I would go out of my way to eat here. The Glass Noodle Dish on the Lunch menu, would fare better if it were a «Wet» dish, but, that would put us in a different Country. Just my opinion. Go here, and, eat until your stomach explodes, and, remember to chase that spice with some ice cream, your intestines and anus will like you better.
