Artistik Edge has just moved to the Haven Lake Highlands apartment complex from their previous location. As a resident of the apartment complex I have been monitoring their progress to completion of their new store. Today after work I drove by and it was OPEN! I walked inside I noticed it was dead empty! I spoke to Audrey Mabry — front desk coordinator, and she informed me they were«fully booked» for the whole day! Unbelievable. I see atleast 2 stylists just standing around and I’m denied service? This is how a new business in a horrible location goes out of business! If i’m denied the first time, I sure as hell won’t be back a second time! Sincerely, Lost potential $$$ customer

Rebecca is great. Gigi turns a simple shampoo into a highly relaxing experience. High quality salon with a great vibe. They are moving in August, but not too far from where they are now. Heartily recommend this salon !

I have been looking for a salon since I moved to Dallas in 2012. I finally found my stylist Nicole at Artistik Edge. She easily understood what I wanted my hair to look like and I couldn’t be happier with the results! I got balayage highlights and a cut. The price was better than I expected and everyone that works at the salon is friendly and knowledgeable about the products they sell. I am happy j finally found this place and I will recommend it to everyone.

It has taken me some time to think about writing this review. I recently moved to the neighborhood, and was in the market for a new salon. When I got there I was optimistic. The stylist doing my hair spent time consulting with me, which I liked. I went in for a cut and color, and she went through what needed to be done to achieve what I was going for and provided me with the pricing upfront. The reason I am giving 2 stars is when the woman got me to the sink to rinse out the color she began to frantically say«I can’t believe I did that» «Oh no» «I know mistakes happen, but it’s just not an option for me». She was referring to my hair, and I did not appreciate the stress associated with that, and found it to be very unprofessional. After going through an odd coloring process not including the rinse, it was haircut time. She barely cut my hair and my ends were still frayed. When I asked to have my ends to get cleaned up more she said it would shorten the length of my hair«too much» and tried to flat iron it which was not the problem. The cut was so bad I went to get a blowout the following weekend, and the gentleman gave me a haircut after asking me when the last time I got my hair cut was, and being shocked when I said a week ago. The color turned out fine, however the experience took away from it. After 3 hours and $ 150 later I ended up with a bad haircut, a decent color, and stressed out due to unecessary panic. I likely will not be returning.

The first girl I saw a couple of times is no longer there. She was great. I think I saw a second girl who was fine. The third girl is kind of a nightmare. I gave her two chances. The first time I pointed to a woman’s haircut and complained that over the years so many stylists have given me that short bob against my consent and I HATE it on me and it’s hard to grow out. She counters by saying a bob would look good on me, panic, but we agree on a long bob which sounded really good. What do I end up with? An incredibly short bob. I was so upset, I’d grown my hair for a year. But I stupidly chalked it up to a miscommunication and went back to her, told her not to take any length off, and that because my dog was on his last legs I wanted to get back home early so just to blow out my hair so it’s not totally wet. So, my roots still show, she took off length, she took half an hour styling my hair, and lightened it so that it will probably need a lot of maintenance. It’s luck of the draw, like at most salons. I always lose the good ones.

Mandy has been doing my color and cuts for the past 3 years. She is very talented and always listens to my requests and is helpful with her suggestions. The salon is really cute and is a friendly environment. I love Mandy and I love the salon. That is hard to come by. I have loved stylists, but hated the salon they were at and just suffered through. I seem to have found my place. Check out Artistik Edge and Mandy. But I hear great things about all their stylists.

I have been coming to the Artistik Edge for over 20 years, and I’ve never had a bad haircut. I LOVE my stylist and the terrific staff! It’s conveniently located in Lake Highlands, and I can be in and out quickly; I can even pick up products there, I now use Redken Curvacous(sp) line. So good!

Funny I wrote a review earlier this year giving the salon a 5 star rating which was filtered out and not included in the overall rating of this salon… so now I’m playing to see if their filtering system filters out this review that I’m giving a 4 star for testing purposes. I find the rating system a bit disconcerting and has definitely changed my perception of Unilocal as a viable source reference website. I provided honest feedback about this salon… I travel the world over and have never found a team as wonderful as this salon… if this gets posted read the unfiltered reviews they are pretty much the same ratings I’ve provided on AE.

So I’m not the type of person who remains faithful to their hairstylist/barber. For years, I’ve been going from one place to the next getting my normal«short on top and 3.5 on the sides» haircut. I’ve actually NEVER been to the same hairstylist twice and usually bounce around from shop to shop depending on who is having their annual $ 5 haircut sale. Well I decided one day to actually try a real hair salon/studio. I work very close to Artistik Edge so I walked in one day after work without an appointment. This place had a fun atmosphere and it didn’t have that dull feeling like in other chain places. I was promptly seen in 5 minutes by Paul. He asked what I normally did with my hair and I showed him what I normally did. I told him that I normally get a 3.5 on the sides and he said he wanted to try something a little different. Seeing as I’m not too picky with my haircut, I let him work his magic. A cut, shampoo, and style later, I’m loving my new haircut. He even recommended some shampoo and product for my particular hair that I’m loving as well. I’m thinking it’s time to be a little more faithful to my hair and I finally found a place that works well for me!

Just had a great experience at this salon with Lisa. She clearly knows what she is doing! I decided to go there because it is very close to my home and my friend had good things to say about it. I have gone to Aveda salons and toni & Guy previously, but they were getting to be ridiculously expensive. I recieved a shampoo, cut, and blow dry for $ 20 less than the previous salons I used to go to. I have long hair(middle of back) and needed more than 3 inches cut off. I was very happy with the layers and cut I recieved. The atmosphere was fun, and the receptionist was super sweet. I was also happy to support a local small business :) I will be going again and taking my 2 year-old son, as Lisa said she is very good with kids :)

I have literally been getting my hair done here for 24 years. Even while living in California, I would wait and get my hair done when I came back for holidays. The owner Terri is spunky and energetic. The salon is always busy so make an appointment, but you wont be disappointed!

While I always get a good haircut, and mostly always get good color, and like the staff, I grow weary of the constant upsell on «treatments» and products. If you are not careful, and stand your ground, it is easy to get nickel and dimed to death. So, be prepared to either spend quite a bit more than you planned, or to stand your ground that you don’t need alot of extra services or products. That’s the only downside, but it’s a big one.

I have gone to this salon for many years and had my hair done by many different stylists. My experiences have always been favorable. I have short hair with highlights. Between visits at least 3 to 5 people comment on liking my hair color so it must be working for me.

32nd Chances 2 Many… Don’t go to this place, keep looking. I’m a dude with shoulder length hair. The first time I went a heavy-set girl gave me a bob. SERIOUSLY I had a really offensive hair cut for a man. They did refund my money so the next time I went in I was having issues with some frizz on the top of my hair. Ashley told me «you’re just going to have to straighten your hair». It looked great when she did it so I bought the flat-iron she recommended and two weeks later I had some severely damaged hair. Ashley didn’t tell me to use some heat protection. Either way, a flat-iron was OVERKILL for my situation. So after all this frustration, finally I schedule a time to chemically straighten my hair and they changed my appointment time a couple days before and I showed up 12 minutes late and she said she couldn’t see me. THANKGOD! I found a new place off of lower Greenville and you will NOT find a better place. This place is full of POSEURS, «Supercuts» talent served in a pretty dish.

Nice people. Fun atmosphere. Product pushers. Stylist forgot about me and color ended up too dark. They’re all about the BIG Dallas hair, so beware.

I liked Artistik Edge, it had a fun fashionable atmosphere and I really liked all the stylists they have there. However I was paying as much here as I was at a lot of the high end salons in downtown Dallas. I know that I have crazy thick hair but paying $ 200 plus for partial highlights and a trim(and I keep my hair a little shorter than shoulder length) was a little much for me. Also I felt like they pushed a lot of products on me everytime I went there, which is something I hate.

Living in Dallas, it’s easy to spend $ 200+ on a trip to the salon for a haircut and highlights. That’s why I feel so lucky to have found Artistik Edge Hair Studio when I moved back to Dallas almost 2 years ago. It’s a cute salon with a trendy atmosphere and I never have trouble making a last minute appointment. All of the girls who work there are friendly and fun, but I always see Tonia. The prices are more than reasonable and I love the fact that you are offered a REAL drink to relax with while you are there!
