Here is my opinion_albeit I have nothing to compare it to_as it was my first experience. Location: No difficult to get to but can be lengthy drive depending on your start point. I live in South Tampa, so it is a little bit of a hike. Keep in mind, once you exit the interstate, there are no bathrooms/gas stations till you arrive at the location(minus gas). The flying J at the interstate is your stop if you need drinks, bathroom or gas. I took my 71⁄2 year old son for a birthday party. I opted not to participate in the course, as I knew we were not able to stay the entire time. I wear flip flops on a daily basis in summer, just be advised, it’s sandy and the ground is covered in mulch. So, for those of you who are going and will be spectators, I still recommend closed toe shoes. There were over 10 children and over 10 adults participating. It takes time to get everyone into their harness and secured. An hour later, we were off to test out the practice runs. The system is designed for safety, which absolutely made me feel better, but my son is 71⁄2 and yelling instructions to him was frustrating. He still enjoyed the one little zip and obstacle run he did. An hour and ½ later we had to go, but I promised him I would be back. Actually, I’m glad I went and got all the instructions, so next time, things will go a little smoother. I don’t know if I would have my sons birthday party here at such a young age. However, he really enjoyed it and I will absolutely be coming back. The staff was very nice. Keep in mind, a bunch of 7&8 year olds screaming… and they could handle them. I especially want to point out the woman with the blue/purple hair. She did an great job explaining the safety devices and importance of safety to these kids. Screaming kids are difficult to handle even when they are your own. I look forward to returning and participating in the course and the varying levels of difficulty. PS: to anyone who gets overheated easily… this is Florida and its summer. It’s hot out there! Stay hydrated or wait till fall.

I can’t wait to go back! Its a big jungle gym for adults and kids! The best way I can describe it is… if you had ever been skiing, they have sections marked by green squares, blue circles and black diamonds. Like skiing, black diamonds are the most challenging. You go through an obstacle course which are many different things that take you one tree, get on a platform then you zip line from that platform to another. I felt mentally challenged and physically challenged! Keep in mind you are always safe! The entire time you are locked onto cables and you are on the ground.

TreeHoppers bills itself as a zipline course but in reality it is an obstacle course complex for all ages. Ziplines are but one of many skills you will need to maneuver/finish these courses. You will not be disappointed. TH is roughly 40 minutes north of Tampa. GPS took me about a mile in the wrong direction but if you look for the signs you’ll find it. Staff is very friendly. They do a quick«training session» on how to use the equipment. Safety is a priority and while the constant clipping and unclipping of safety harnesses may seem cumbersome it is in reality a great defense against potential liability claims. Within 15 minutes you’ll get so used to the equipment that it will seem second nature. The courses range from beginner to expert. The difficulty levels escalate rather quickly. You’ll soon find yourself walking a tightrope while avoiding wooden barriers, ninja style, while 40 feet in the air. At one point the user must drop(freefall) two stories from a platform relying on faith that the equipment will stop you from hitting the ground at full speed. Very cool. Staff members are always around to help but do not interfere. If you need them they are there but they are not aggravating or intrusive. Take advantage of the water special too. I think they charge $ 5 per person for unlimited ice cold bottled water. You’ll need it. The courses are fun but they are also a great workout. Give TH a try. You will not regret it.

Had a blast! My first time ever doing anything like this and it was an amazing experience! Myself, and 3 other people Went in the morning, didn’t have to wait for any of the courses because there wasn’t a lot of people. but by the time we left, about 3 hours later… It was packed! You definitely get a work out doing this, a lot of obstacles, and some are very hard and can be scary! But everything is so safe! Ages 5 and up can do the courses! I can’t wait to go back again!

TreeHoppers is a lot of fun. The ropes courses scale up with your ability, which is nice. The three hours provided is enough time for about six course runs if you do not have people in front of you slowing things down. I would recommend adults skip the yellow courses as they are really tailored for kids and include lots of crouching and low hanging cables. The one negative right now is the facility is not fully built and the portable toilets on site were badly in need of being emptied. But, it looked like they were very near completion of the permanent structure, so this will not be an issue for long. I would also recommend they plan on some type of reservation system in the future to insure the courses are not overcrowded.

I went this afternoon with my 12 year old daughter. We have been to several rope adventure parks in FL and other states through out the SE. This was the least enjoyable. 1. Do not go if you are looking for a zip lining experience. These are rope courses with a few, short, zip lines. 2. We waited an 1hr15min from the time we paid until the time we were allowed on our first course. 3. The safety system they use, while thorough, is so complicated that it makes the courses less enjoyable. 4. All courses start from the same area. The congestion further slows down the process and adds to the general confusion. 5. If you have been zip lining in other countries you need to know that American courses do not compare well. This is not specific to this location, just a general comment. If you live close by and drive time is an issue this would probably be an ok place to drop off the kids. However, if you are driving any distance to get here I would recommend going to a different park. We will not be returning to this location.

Our second visit here and had a great climb time with friends! It was a perfect cool sunday morning and the place was quiet for a while. Staff is always spot on and helpful. But note to self-you must be in decent shape, unless your are 12, to get thru some of the more intense climbs. I have a fear of heights and this was the cure– When I stepped off the first platform I knew it was going to be FUN! We came out for the student special that was offered and rallied the other schoolmates to join. We all had a fantastic day. Get your own pair of bike gloves to wear, as they will fit better than the rental gloves.

LOVE the way you can work up levels at your own pace! They have courses a young child would enjoy as well as courses a daring adult would enjoy! I recommend it to every outdoor adventurer! Can’t wait to return!

I can’t rave about Tree Hoppers enough. It is an amazing date idea for those of us looking for an alternative. The safety mechanism was a bit involved when she explained, but it practice it was amazing. I felt safe and secure no matter how high up I was. I was challenged throughout, very well thought out. I have spread to word to friends and family, I can’t wait to go back and up my skills and try more difficult courses. Love it! Absolutely worth every single penny!

Some people go to restaurants and have the wait staff and cooks join hands and sing some lame song to celebrate their birthday. After visiting TreeHoppers as part of the Unilocal’s in the Trees CMYE I knew exactly where I wanted to celebrate my birthday. Tree Hoppers is an aerial obstacle course that features a variety of obstacles meant to test your strength, flexibility and stamina. It consists of eight different courses ranging from easy(yellow) to extremely hard(double black). During the CMYE, I was able to successfully navigate a green, blue and single black course before needing to skip out to rescue my daughter from her baby sitter. It pained me to leave without at least attempting the double black. This time around there would be nothing standing in my way. When you first arrive at Tree Hoppers you are fitted with equipment with the assistance of a staff member. The staff member then provides a quick rundown of all the safety features that your harness has in place in order to ensure that you don’t get hurt. At the CMYE this rundown was completely overwhelming. If you’ve never attempted an obstacle course in the trees before, be prepared to be overwhelmed. At the same time, know that you don’t have to be a professional before attempting the actual courses. The employees at Tree Hoppers follow you through courses and offer up advice if you ask for it. The main thing to take in at this orientation is the three different attachments. The first is a double clip attachment. This is the most common one on the Tree Hoppers course. The double clip is designed for you to have at least one clip attached to a tree at all times. The second attachment is for ziplining. Almost every course has at least one zipline. Just attach this baby and go. The third attachment offers protection when heading up a ladder or dismounting the more difficult courses(yes you really do just jump out into space and have this thing slowly ease you down). After the verbal orientation, the staff member takes you over to a practice course that is just a few feet off the ground. This allows you to practice the different attachments at a height that won’t leave you disfigured and injured if you mess up. The second time around, the orientation and practice areas were a breeze. Despite having been here before, the employees at Tree Hoppers are trained to want to see you in action before hitting the hard courses. This meant that I had to start with a blue and a black before giving the double black a go. It was strange doing one of the blues and the black course a second time. Because I wasn’t super invested, doing them more for compliance sake than anything else, I found myself making some careless mistakes and needing to exert more effort than probably needed. My advice, even if you’ve done a course before, treat it with respect and take your time. You don’t want to mess up and be forced to exert more energy on an easier course. Trust me, you’ll need it for the double black. Once I was done with the blue and black, I was cleared to attempt the double black. Let me just say, this one is a doozy. The transition from green to blue to black doesn’t seem nearly as difficult as the step from black to double black. It felt gigantic. At one point on the double black there was an obstacle I just couldn’t make happen. So I just dangled by the wire and scaled across using my hands. It definitely looked rad(as the employee who was following me stated) but it took a lot out of me. By the time I reached the escape ladder, the harder courses are fitted with an escape ladder somewhere beyond the halfway point that you can use if you find the going too difficult, I had to throw in the towel. After helping me down, the girl who was following me said that I had completed the hardest part of the course and that I only had three obstacles left. I immediately regretted my decision. I knew I couldn’t get it again today and I’d have to come back to try again. That’s when I realized what exactly Tree Hoppers is doing. They tire you out on the easy courses, make you not complete the hard one and then force you to come back and spend more money. Not a bad idea. Tree Hoppers is definitely not cheap. My wife and I paid over a hundred dollars for three hours out on the courses. The nice thing is that three hours was enough time for me to finish two blues, the black twice and slowly attempt the double black. I definitely felt like I got my money’s worth. Tree Hoppers is an absolutely fantastic experience. Its unique setup offers something that is both fun and challenging for the entire family. It doesn’t matter if you are a couch potato or a regular runner/avid athlete, these courses are designed to push you to the limit. Give it a try. It certainly beats bad singing by a bunch of waitresses and cooks.

Had a blast. Husband and I visited a few weeks ago when we were in Florida on a short vacation. Was a lot of fun and really more challenging that I thought it would be. I definitely want to come back next time I’m in the area. Please put a Treehoppers in Indiana!

So it turns out one of us got ring worm after using equipment here. Not sure how they are sanitizing the harnesses after each use. Actually the ring worm happened right away, my updated review was many days later. Is it possible a team member may have used the harness before us? I’m happy to hear you sanitize the equipment between usage. It was a fun adventure.
