First time here. I walk in and the girl behind the counter says in a completely deadpan tone and attitude«Whadd’ya want?» I’ve never been here before, I haven’t even had a chance to look at the menu(which covers most of the wall) and this little be-otch is very un-friendly!!! I tell her I need a minute and she just stares at me as I am trying to read the menu on the wall behind her. Another couple is also trying to decide what they want and the counter girl seems annoyed that we aren’t ordering fast enough for her liking. I decide on the Pulled Pork and St. Louis Dry Rub Ribs combo, beans and tater salad for my two sides. As I sit waiting, I can see the rude counter girl is talking to another person who appears to be a friend of hers. When my waitress brings my Coke I ask for the manager, she says«I am the manager». I tell her about the counter girl’s attitude and the manager apologizes and says she will speak to her. After this the counter girls disappears in to the back area and I don’t see her again. The manager brings my food and I try the pulled pork first thing– it’s almost cold, very slightly above room temperature. I don’t like/trust sending food back so I eat it anyway. I don’t taste ANY kind of smokiness to the meat. I try the Rump Roaster BBQ sauce and it’s O.K., kinda like heat without flavor. I try the Alabama Slama BBQ sauce and it’s real good! «Tomato and brown sugar based, touch of smoke», according to their menu. I’m sure the«touch of smoke» is Liquid Smoke artificial flavoring, but it does taste good. The waitress/manager returns to ask how is everything and I ask her if they have a real wood fire to smoke their meats. She tells me they use Hickory wood. The way she worded her answer leads me to think they use some kind of a smoker that contains wood chips rather than an actual BBQ pit fire. I try the ribs, NOSMOKEYFLAVORATALL! The manager tells me the pulled pork is smoked«all night» and the ribs are smoked 4 hours. The meat is good but definitely not BBQ smoked. Looks more like oven baked, in my opinion. The beans and tater salad were good, the Coke was flat or low on syrup. The garlic toast only gets toasted on one side, WTF??? The manager did try to be friendly and thanked me for coming in, but the little be-otch at the counter really set a bad tone for the visit. BubbaQue’s is kind of expensive, this meal cost a little over $ 23.00! I might try them again, but there are A LOTOFOTHERBBQ joints on my list to try first. *******************UPDATE********************** I sent the above to BubbaQue’s corp. website over a week ago with no response. I guess BubbaQue’s doesn’t care about their customers!

Ate here when they first opened. I got some chicken to go. They put plastic wrap on the chicken after they cooked it. The food was not flavorful and not even sure the fish liked the bait we offered as it was rather unpalatable. It is cute… not tasty tho. I emailed the company afterwards and never received a response. :(

So cutest little redneck/country décor in the restaurant. I mean you throw your trash in the toilet seat covered trash bin, and I sure hope your friends and family can find you on their camo covered seating. Food was good, typical barbque and fried sides. All was finger licking good– about 10 different sauces to choose from which I liked that there was such a variety. Only thing I would change is to be able to order from the table, especially if you have several people in your party.

This place has the best BBQ I have had in florida. The meaty ribs were huge and had a very good sweet dry rub done just right. My wife had pulled pork and loved it and the beans were very good also. I will be back

There are a lot of good BBQ places nowadays but there is always room for another one and the Bubbaques in Dade City should be added to the list. We went there for lunch on Monday and the food was really good. When you walk in you order at the counter and then a server will bring your food and drinks out to you. Service was quick and attentive. I ordered the St. Louis style ribs and my coworker ordered the smoked sausage. The ribs were really good. The meat was flavorful and no sauce was necessary. I also had a side of fries and the baked beans. The fries were crinkly cut and very good. Also, they used chopped BBQ in the baked beans which was really really really good. Bubbaques may not be the best BBQ, but it was really good. I highly recommend the Dade City location.

Awesome BBQ and awesome service. The pulled pork is the best I have ever had and the baby back ribs are so good they need no sauce. I have never gotten anything bad here. I highly recommend the baked beans.

First a tip for BBQ shacks. Customers who go and check out a BBQ for the first time may never cross your doorstep. I can tell you from experience that I drive into your parking lot, roll down the window, and drag in a big inhale… can you smell anything smokey? Does it smell good? Is it really BBQ? Now on to Bubbques. No smoke, no smell. But we are hungry so we roll the dice and go on in. Fiendly staff, small but nicely appointed dining room, its a clean place. Now we finally smell something cooking. My wife orders the pulled pork, mac & cheese, and fries. I decided to try the half a chicken dinner, mac & cheese, and the baked beans. WE also gave the corn nuggets with ranch sauce a try, they turned out to be the best thing we ate at this restaurant. Now the cool thing is Bubbaques appreciates and takes care of ALLBBQ sauce preferences by providing 8 different sauces covering mustard base, ketchup base, honey based, molasses based, vinegar based, and hot sauce, Now the food arrives and its hot and tastes good. Now the pulled pork is not greasy which is great but I gotta say not much of a smoked or bbq grilled flavor to it. The chicken on the other hand has plenty of smoke flavoring and is juicy. The beans are fantastic with more pulled pork in it than beans. The mac and cheese is dissappointing as its not even up to the taste and cheese level of KRAFT from a box and its just as watery. So in review, If I was standing in front of Bubbaques, I was ravenous, and I didnt see another place to eat I would dine at Bubbaques, but this is not a place that I would make a road trip out of or agressively search for on my GPS. Corporate chains and franchises should stay away from BBQ ventures and stick to chicken nuggets and burgers.

Stopped here after finishing up a long work week in Dade City. The atmosphere is quirky and fun, but because of the gimmicky interior I thought the BBQ would not be very good. I was wrong, Had the pulled pork and stew and loved it! The BBQ here is top notch and the service was great! Very friendly and attentive staff

Awesome BBQ, especially the pulled pork. Everything here is always good. Bring your church bulletin for a discount on Sunday lunch.

We enjoy Bar-B-Q and have been looking for a place in this area that serves some that is edible. This is the closest we’ve found so far. We ordered the special of the day, pulled pork, Texas toast, and one side for $ 5.00. We chose the slaw as a side. The serving of slaw was big enough to share and delicious. The generous portion of pork was pulled as it should be, tender and very flavorful. They had 10 different sauces to please any palet with crazy names so we tried each one. The spicy one, «rump roaster» was the best. The others were also good and were vinegar, sweet, mustard flavor, etc. This was a very good find and we’ll return to try the brisket or the chicken.
