Recent wind damage to our roof led to an unsolicited parade of roofers knocking on our doors. We met Sean and Trey of Sunrise Roofing this way. After a lengthy initial meeting, we hired Sunrise to replace our roof shingles. They were the only roofers who actually had a copy of their insurance certificate to show us.(When asked, other roofers said they’ll get us a copy and then never follow up.) Sean Holmes was the Sunrise rep we dealt with and we felt that he answered our questions in a straightforward and comprehensive manner. We also checked every single reference that Sunrise provided to us, which were texted to us promptly after our initial meeting. We spoke with the HOA president of a neighboring subdivision who had their community pool house roof done by Sunrise and said they had no problems with this company. We checked with their insurer to confirm that their insurance is valid and active. We looked up their online reviews. There were not many and there was a particularly bad one on Unilocal,so I contacted that Unilocal reviewer to find out what the story was. He told me Sunrise increased the price on him and left his job incomplete. Sunrise told me the bad review was written by a competitor. In spite of the conflicting story, my husband and I decided to give Sunrise the job because their other references checked out. The job proceeded smoothly. Sean recommended Owens Corning Duration shingles on our roof because they have a feature that made them especially wind resistant and it didn’t require as many nails for installation, which was fine with us. A day in advance of our roof being done, Sean and another worker came to remove our gutter guards. The next two days, his roofing team came to tear down the shingles and replaced them with new ones. Our roof was done in two segments, first the back of the house in one day and then the front of the house the second day so that there was no time where the roof was left without shingles at the end of the day. Tarps were laid down to catch most of the debris and nails. Then the waste was manually placed in a dumpster on our driveway that was hauled away soon after the job was done. Given the scale of the work I felt that the disruption to our life was kept to a minimum. The workers started before 8am and didn’t go home until after sunset. After the roofing work was done, Sean came back again with some guys to replace our gutter guards. Throughout the job, Sean came to our house to check progress and he also left an English-speaking staff member to supervise on-site. Since the job was done several weeks ago, we have not noticed any problems with our roof. We have had many rains and even a hail storm. Our roof looks much better than before. I asked Sean whether we could have some spare shingles in case we need to make small repairs in the future and he had no problem accommodating that request. Overall, the job went very smoothly and I have no suggestions for improvement except for one regarding clean-up. After the job was finished quite late in the day, the Sunrise guys were sweeping for nails on our driveway in the dark using their car headlights. In retrospect, it would have been better to do that during the day in sunlight to be sure nothing sharp was missed. I had to get one of my tires replaced due to a nail puncture(not patchable per dealer being a run flat tire). As a precaution, I would advise other homeowners to inspect their driveway themselves one more time even after the roofer is done with the magnetic sweepers because it is so easy to miss a nail or two. We should have done that but we didn’t. We are very pleased with our new roof and hope that it will last us for many years to come. I will update this review if there are any future issues with the work. Thanks for reading.

Worst roofing company ever. Not only were they incompetent and couldn’t install the roof correctly but they destroyed my gutters. Then like the greedy company that they are they said that my insurance wouldn’t cover it after they installed it. When I called my insurance they said they paid in full after confronting them they sent me a ride email.
