John’s Alterations

I just started Unilocaling, but had to comment on John. He has altered 3 different bridesmaid gowns, several pairs of jeans, and repaired clasps on my dress pants. He does exceptional work and is very precise. Try John, you won’t be disappointed.

Very precise. Will do what other lazy tailors wont do. My suit has never fit better. Just tell him what you want and he’ll make it happen. Has a great sense of mens fashion as well.

I’ve had John do a couple of alterations for me with satisfactory work, but I stopped going to him because his conduct toward me seemed unprofessional. After altering a dress to a more flattering length (to just below the knee from mid-​calf) he told me he had left a bit more length in back because…(«Wanna know why? Wanna know why? he asked) «You got a BIG BUTT.» Yes, he said this to me. More length in back would allow the hem to hang evenly from front to back; so this made sense but he could have put it more tactfully (and I wear a 6, btw…). Later I considered having him alter a wrap-​around skirt, but I was concerned that it would fall open when I sat, especially if I crossed my legs. His solution was «Well don’t do that! The way a woman sit…» Creepy. I haven’t been back since.

John does an excellent job every time and on time as promised!
