American Rentals

Called around to different equipment rental companies about renting a 5k warehouse forklift for one day. This company had the right price, but they are far from professional. I gathered three quotes for my boss, American Rentals being the lowest, and told the sales rep. that I would get back to him and make the reservation as soon as my boss confirmed. They charged the corporate credit card and delivered the forklift, I did not authorize, a week early! We didn’t even know the forklift had been delivered until an employee from a company we share a building with told us there was a forklift in the parking lot with our company name on it, keys in it and all. When I called to ask them to pick up the forklift and refund the card, I was treated like it was my fault and I was inconveniencing them! No apology, nothing. It took them 5 days to pick up the forklift and I’m still trying to get them to refund the charge to our corporate credit card. They do not care about their customers! I would rather use a different company who cares about their customers, treats them with respect and charges a little more. I wish I would have read their reviews on Unilocal before I ever thought about using them. NEVER AGAIN!!! We’re sticking with Sunbelt.. .

I apologize for your poor visit with us last year. We do have a strong cleaning policy when renting concrete trailers so that we do not have to spend hours inside of them chipping them out clean. These guys are a complete rip off! After we pressure washed our rental they still tacked on a $ 150 cleaning fee!!! I watched them after we dropped it off, they just put it back with all the rest of the equipment on their yard, didn’t even clean it! Don’t make the same expensive mistake we did! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! This place is a joke!
