A-1 Self Storage

Me and my husband we’re driving along Lincoln in Cypress looking for a self storage then we saw A-​1Storage so we decided to drop by to check what’s the guy has to offer us or if he has promotional products that we need to use. His name is Steve. The place is clean and Steve helped us to choose the right size of storage that we needed. Thank you Steve.

Great place to store your stuff. The people who work here are very helpful. They maintain the compound like new. The freight elevators help get you to the second level with no effort. The large moving carts help to save your back. If you’re looking for a safe secure clean place this is it.

I don’t write reviews often, but having recently visited multiple storages to rent from, I felt obligated. This storage facility is very modern and well laid out. The doors and very new and lock securely. The place is well lit and easy to navigate. The manager Steve is very helpful and really knows how to take care of his customers. I’d highly recommend looking into this place.

This storage facility is always very clean and well lit inside. Steve is always very friendly, pleasant and helpful. I always feel safe on the premises and their hours are convenient for my schedule.

We were relocating to the area, and we drove a car one-​way on our househunting trip and needed to store it somewhere for 6 weeks prior to our permanent arrival. We looked at all kinds of options, including airport long-​term parking, etc. A1 had storage for our vehicle and it was so much cheaper than those options. Dropped off the car with minimum hassle, and when we returned, it was exactly where we parked it, with a thick coating of dust (what is it about Southern California making cars dirty, anyway?). Regardless it was in great shape, closing my account took about 3 minutes, and we were on our merry way.

I can’t say enough great things about A1 in Cypress. I have been renting form them for over 3 years and at one time had 3 units. Steve and the team are amazing doing all they can to meet my needs. A great Place !!!

I have conflicted feelings about this place.
PROS:
clean
easily accessible
convenient hours
friendly office staff
CONS:
non-​office staff do not speak English, not even Spanglish
weird billing policy
I cleared out our storage and went in the office to cancel our unit. it was the 5^th of the month, so the lady told me i had to pay $ 5.66 (or some other random amount) for the prorated days. no problem.
then i get a bill in the mail about two weeks later, saying that my payment of $ 5.66 did not cover the charges so now i owe eighty-​something dollars.
i called to inquire, and the guy on the phone tells me it’s just a computer glitch and to disregard it. he said that when it was closed out, the letter automatically generates. the date on the letter was about eight days after i had closed out the unit; so that didn’t make sense. he seemed puzzled when i told him the date of the letter and responded with… «well, you can disregard it anyway.»
i told him, «look, i didn’t just decide to pay $ 5.66 because i thought it was a good number. the lady told me that’s what i had to do to close my account.»
why do i feel like this will bite me in the future?
