This was recommended by the owner of The Willow B&B and it was fantastic! I had the black bean soup and the cranberry goat cheese salad. The salad was with fresh green lettuce and oh so good! My hubby had the Bison Burger with the potatoes and it was cooked perfectly! Prices and services were 5 Stars!

Went for lunch. Wife had the salmon dish, I had the salmon melt. Salmon was overcooked and dry. Good portion. Not much flavoring. We ordered soup but the waiter forgot to bring it so we never got it. Service was good and prices were average. Nice atmosphere inside. Wouldnt go back.

I have eaten here several times over the past 5 years or so on my trips to Custer. The atmosphere is nice and staff has been always friendly and professional. I recommend their salmon. In addition, they have a nice selection of wine to choose from.

Fantastic! I had the top beef sirloin, the wife had the salmon. Both were awesome. Kids menu is standard, but the ingredients are fresh. Great list of beers and wine. Staff are nice and great with the service. In a word. Yes!

We’re staying over in Hill City and all the reviews in that town were dismal so we’re happy to travel a few miles to this charming restaurant. We split their Jamaican chicken fricassee main course, and we had the Cesar salad and the soup of the day which was a delicious split pea. The chicken had a nice flavor, not spicy at all, which was too bad, and a lot of potatoes. Not too much chicken, I’m dinging a star because the Cesar salad had the preshredded Parmesan cheese you buy in bulk in a bag. And the apple rhubarb crisp for dessert had waaaaay too much cinnamon Other than that, the service and everything else was great. Not five stars but a solid 3 ½ to 4 We arrived very hungry after driving from Greybull to the black hills, Mt. Rushmore and then onto the Badlands. It was a hot day and I don’t believe this restaurant had air conditioning. It was warm inside,

Seated quickly and service was immediate. Everyone ordered differently and pleased with the selections. Their version of a grilled cheese sandwich had mushrooms and artichokes on it and the bread was perfectly grilled. Yummy, satisfying lunch for all.

Delicious perfectly prepared wild Alaska salmon! We ordered two different salmon dinners, Cajun pasta salmon and creamy risotto salmon — both were wonderful. We would give this restaurant five stars if it wasn’t for the extremely loud atmosphere, we could hear everyone around us plus people at the table in the back of the restaurant. It didn’t spoil our meal but it was difficult to hear each other occasionally. We also recommend the hostess take names when people are waiting, the couple that came in after us were seated first when the hostess got confused. The location on the Unilocal map is not correct, the restaurant is located on the Main Street in Custer not on a side street.

Found this gem on the way to Custer State Park while on vacation. We were tired or fast food and burgers so wanted a relaxing place with fresh fare. This was it! Great restaurant in a scenic town. Family friendly and a nice variety in their selection of lunch items. I had the«grown up grilled cheese» and could only finish half as it was such a generous portion. My husband had the Cajun pasta and raved about it. Kids meals were good too! Highly recommend stopping in for a nice break and a wonderful meal.

Nice atmosphere, competent service and kid friendly. Among our group we had the quesadilla, the angel-hair pasta with lemon butter and the Thai pasta. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Nice wine and beer list as well. We enjoyed our time here!

So pleasantly surprised to find this gem! 9 of us of varied ages and tastes came in for dinner at 7PM. It was quite full so we had to split our party which was no problem. We frankly had minimal expectations considering we were in a small resort town. Our group was comprised of well travelled foodies. The blue cheese bruschetta started us off with a winner. Despite the full house we were waited on promptly. We ordered 8 different main dishes and every one met or exceeded expectations. Even the side salads were noteworthy. Desert? Amazing. So good I had to ask about the pastry chef as they had to have been made in house considering their freshness and uniqueness. Turns out he was from Minnesota was working for 6 weeks during high season. I want to move this guy to my hometown. Great food and good prompt friendly service. I’d be a regular if I lived here!

Nice atmosphere & awesome food! We had the Bison burger and open-faced wild sockeye salmon patty melt all served with a side salad with a balsamic vinaigrette. We also enjoyed the vegetarian noodle dish. Everything was fresh and tasty. Average cost per dish= $ 13.

Very tasty GF options! This is a neat café’ with some really cool dishes and good service. I enjoyed the Jamaican Chicken Fricassee; my partner enjoyed the pork with mango salsa — both were very good! I would happily stop here again and recommend it!

Probably a pretty nice restaurant in Custer, however the food was average. We had a pot roast sandwich with Halvarti cheese and horseradish mayo and roasted potato(ok), salmon filet open face sandwich with coleslaw(better) and a cheese pizza kids meal(no complaints). The waitress we had was nice however some of the staff seemed to suffer tunnel vision were people needed things and they’d get passed by. I saw both a table & person at the bar not being waiting on & while it was lunch time, it wasn’t crazy busy & they were staffed appropriately.

Picked up take out on an overnight stay in Custer while visiting Mt Rushmore. Cute place, seemed a bit more upscale than the surrounding eateries, which catered more towards fast food and family dining. Had a glass of wine and the hubby had a local beer while we waited for our order — good selection of both wines and beers. Ordered the Spanish Shrimp small plate, which was very good, although a bit heavy on the bleu cheese. But definitely a good choice. The mixed field green salad was phenomenal, although they forgot the grilled chicken I ordered on it. This was still my favorite out of the meal. The wild salmon with Parmesan risotto was a little disappointing though — well cooked but rather bland, and the risotto had no taste either. Overall, a nice place for dinner if you’re in the area! We’d definitely return of we ever are passing that way again. PS– the website is out of date and the menu is rather different than what is currently posted online.

Cute local business in downtown Custer. Very interesting décor. I would recommend they invest in their decorating. They have a beautiful rock wall leaving no room for bar storage so it’s crammed into a metro table. They have posters in cheap frames and laminate bar tops. The service was good and food was delivered timely. We ordered the Caesar salad with house made dressing(nothing spectacular), and the Pot Roast sandwich(kind of dry and nothing to get excited about) and the red potatoes which were ok. The side salad add on was HUGE and for $ 5. It was almost as big as the entrée salad so that was great.

Sat at the bar since it was crowded. Service was good. The Jamaican chicken Fricasee was awesome. It had some spiciness and a little bit of sweetness and was oh so tasty served with rice that complemented the dish. The Korean buffalo burger was cooked to perfection. medium rare and the sauce was not overwhelming.
