From the sandwiches to the soup to the pizza to the atmosphere and service, Marie’s never fails to deliver. Love it!

We stopped here on our way back from a morning visit to Gibbs Gardens. The restaurant is not easily visible from Hwy 20, but is set back in the plaza. The same parking lot runs all the way up to the part of 20 adjacent to GA-400, so if you turn in anywhere and keep heading north in the parking lot you’ll eventually see it. We both had the pizza-slice-and-salad lunch specials. We enjoyed it a lot. They also had display cases with Italian meats and desserts but we didn’t try any. They also had a cute wine-themed small bar area. I hope we can go back to try this place again.

I would give it 4−½ stars if I could. This was our first order at Marie’s and it was a takeout order. I knew when I took my first bite of the antipasto salad, we were in for a solid dinner. The salad was incredibly crisp and fresh with good quality ingredients. The balsamic dressing tasted homemade and was tangy(the way I like it). We ordered three calzones and a pizza with the salad. The calzones were a little undersized compared to what I am used to(back in Northeast), but certainly were big enough and very good. My son’s «Stuffed Poppy» calzone was excellent. Their pasta sauce served on the side was light and fresh. I prefer a more Sunday gravy(slow cooked) type of sauce but that is just a personal preference. The pizza was our favorite that we have had locally thus far. I liked the saltiness and texture of the crust and there is no doubt they use excellent quality cheese and meats. It was a good experience and we will be back(maybe to eat in next time).

Great lunch spot. Was pleased to find an Italian deli located in Cumming of all places. Admittedly, I am biased being from New England and being inundated with Italian delicatessens for years. Had the Italian combo with fresh moz paired with a bowl of tomato basil soup. Sandwich wasn’t overwhelmingly big, but for the price point it was adequate. Well crafted, and oil/vinegar was balanced right with the amount of mozzarella. Meats could of been more distinct, didn’t have that hard aged scent a sandwich like this is known for. Granted, I’m scrutinizing an Italian grinder in Georgia, but it more than passes muster. All in all, a good experience, great staff and a great place to have lunch. Looking forward to trying their pizza.

Oh yeah… this is THE place for a great sub, and salad. Marie’s, an ode to all Maries, is a cute little deli/pizza shop in the Tri County plaza, that I found of course, after reading their Unilocal reviews. My husband and I walked in around 5:15, and ordered the Godmother, the Dump, a large Caprese salad, and two drinks, and sat down. It is definitely a family-owned and-operated business, and we watched the people come and go, picking up to-go orders, or coming in for the start of the dinner rush. The owner seemed to know everybody, and she even stopped by our table to say hi, and check on us. She was a sweet heart, and seemed to have a great grasp of her core business, the everyday, average customer. The sandwiches were amazing, on super-soft, yet crusty bread. The ham is smoked in-house, and they make their dressings there in the kitchen. The salad was really cold and fresh, and the basil was torn and mixed in with the romaine, for extra flavor. Even the pickle served on the side was cold and crisp! Nice touch there! :) The prices are definitely solid, and the menu also includes pizzas, calzones, stombolis, and hot subs, beyond the salads and cold subs. I grabbed a menu on the way out the door, because in all honesty, a good Italian sub is a beautiful thing. Awesome food, really great service… welcome to our lives, Marie’s. Food-vana, for sure.

Had The Godmother, which is mozzarella, tomato, basil, smoked ham, and balsamic. I have not been able to find many places outside the northeast that make this sandwich, so I was excited, and it was one of the best ones I’ve had. The mozzarella had a great«fluffy» texture(don’t know how else to explain it), and the bread was delicious, which most places overlook. The restaurant itself is tucked away in a strip mall, but definitely worth the stop. You get the impression it’s a husband and wife and their two kids behind the counter(that might be the case, I dunno), but they are very friendly and it’s a nice little place with a bar in the corner. I’m tempted to stay in town long enough just to stop in for lunch tomorrow.

We’ve been looking for a good, family-style pizza joint since moving to Cumming and we’ve found it with Marie’s Italian Deli. We’ve tried the pizza, calzone and meatball sub and loved everything we’ve tried, especially the calzone. Atmosphere is very friendly and casual. Looking forward to trying more items on the menu in the future!

Wife and I had sandwiches(hot pastrami and Italian) and loved them! I had the pasta salad and my wife had the orzo salad and they were both great. So good that we broke down and had a piece of coconut cake… it was filled with custard, and should be illegal. The staff was awesome and everything tasted fresh and delicious. This place is a gem and we will be back soon… maybe tonight for pizza!

Nice little Italian restaurant deli/market tucked away in a strip shopping center. This place is family owned, a very friendly environment, and their food is always good. Ordered a Fatt Matts Stromboli on this visit — recommend splitting this if you can because it is HUGE. The Caprese salad was a little odd to me since it contained Romaine, but still very good. Their cannoli are always incredibly delish — incredibly sinful — definitely try one if you go — they are truly addicting!

While this area is limited in family owned restaurants of quality this place definitely sets the standard high. This deli/diner is great. The food, while inexpensive, doesn’t skimp on taste. The service is friendly and attentive. It’s an overall warm environment. The pizza is great. I prefer the ‘Marie’s special veggie pie’. The cannoli was tasty. Overall great experience.

Came in @4:30 for dinner before a movie. just wanted a slice and a glass of wine. They were out of slices! Settled for their Tuscan soup which was served in a paper bowl and had no flavor. Tasted like plain tap water was added at some point perhaps to stretch out the volume of soup. If you want to be an Italian Deli /pizzaria, you do not skimp on flavor and you ALWAYS have slices! The wine was good though!

Maries is looking better since my last review and I have to say the food is up there. I will return. seems to be getting popular, and you couldn’t feel more at home. Even had music one night. Great beer choices. So far best Pizza in Cumming and Alpharetta.

I had been hearing from a few folks how good this place is, and after finding my way over to Marie’s for a quick lunch, I found out what all of the fuss was about. Walking in the front door, it has the feel of walking into a good friend’s kitchen where they are happy to see you, and they are more than willing to go above and beyond to make sure that you are happy. So, 5 stars for environment and service. The food stacks up strong against the other Italian restaurants in the area, but I LOVE that this is a family owned and operated restaurant. I’ve had a couple of their signature sandwiches, the Italian wedding soup, and a cannoli, and I have been impressed with the quality of ingredients. By the way, their cannolis have homemade filling… yes! Stop in for a meal sometime.

Everything I’ve tried has been excellent. My personal favorite is the eggplant pram and the cannoli, my husband love the subs and my kids love the pizzas and any of the sweets she has in the case! I love the laid back atmosphere and friendly service.
