I love this old-school place. I just took my 5yo son here for a haircut(an activity he loves, weirdly) and George was so kind and sweet to him. Gave him a great haircut, using two different types of clippers and a pair of scissors, and then offered him a candy treat when it was all done(after asking if candy was okay with me which I greatly appreciated). My son is now asking if we can invite George to our house so we can share our candy with him. Awww. I’ll definitely be bringing him back!

This place is horrible! I went in to have a simple line clean up, sideburns & back of neck, quick and easy. After he sliced my ear with the razor he had the audacity to charge $ 22. Are you kidding me, you are a barber shop, not a salon. This is $ 10 – 12 anywhere in the city. This place needs to close up, a good indicator as it was empty of customers. Do not go here!!!

I usually go to a chain place but decided to give the local guy a try. I called ahead for an appointment and was told I could just walk in(on a Saturday afternoon). I did at the same time as another guy, but since no other customers were around, we were both taken at the same time. Another guy walked in shortly after and took a seat after picking out a magazine. George was friendly, and asked how I wanted my hair cut. I don’t do anything crazy, but I guess he wasn’t big on my «longer in the middle on top»(I don’t want full on faux hawk, but along those lines). He went ahead after seeming slightly taken aback. We chatted a bit as he cut, and did a fine job of the sides. He finished up and asked how it was. The top didn’t seem to be touched at all, but I can never tell right after a cut, so I said it was fine. He charged me $ 22(cash only), and I paid and left. Final verdict: I could tell later on that the top of my head really was rather undone. I guess somewhat my own fault, but it’s pretty messy up there.

They sucked, some Alfredo named barber messed me up. Sucks at lining up beard. Can’t shave at all. Waste of time, $ 32, and lost my beard.

I moved to Los Angeles in 2009 right after I graduated college and have been here since. I have lived all over the city; Culver City, Hollywood, Hermosa Beach, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Redondo Beach, and now Culver City again. Moving around was chaotic but the one constant in my life was always George’s barber! No matter how far away I lived or worked, I always made the trek to Culver City to see George. He is the best and I would still drive to see him even if I lived in Orange County, the experience is that good! If you’re looking for a solid haircut without all of the other BS, this is the place to go. You could go somewhere else that is trendier and pay twice as much, but why would you. Over the years George has actually become a close friend of mine and has even convinced me get into salsa dancing which he is an expert at! If you give this place a chance, you’ll never need to go anywhere else as long as you live in Los Angeles! Jack

I just moved to the area. I found George’s on Unilocal.George cut my hair with the skill of a master hand to my specifications. He’s been doing this since the age of three. George is a long time bicyclist so if you’re into cycling he can tell you where the best rides are.

An old school barbershop, George uses three razor attachments, scissors, and finishes off with the straight razor; then grooming touch ups as needed with ears, nose, etc. Reasonable wait times, there’s often one or two customers waiting. Pull around to the back for the free parking. Highly recommended for a great haircut!

went to georges today because, well it was my only option with the time I had today. I will list the positives and negatives and let you decide. Wait= got seen within 5 min plus Customer Service= George cut my hair and was friendly and cordial. plus Haircut= can’t complain after seeing it at home, pretty decent job. plus PRICE= 20 bux? heres where I have a problem. I gave him 5 bux tip because well I didn’t want him to get pissed off for anything less. I thought they should have charged 15 tops for the basic cut I got. negative SPACE= very small place about the size of a large bathroom. You have to sit there with 2 other people getting there haircut facing you about 5 ft away. Honestly, it kind of felt like a place better suited for being a tatto parlor then a hair cut place but thats just my opinion. Safe to say next time I get a cut I will be back to my reg spot that charges 14 and is more professional. have fun.

George gave not only a bad ass, real haircut, he gave me advice on where to take my wife for Salsa lessons. The man is a scholar and a gentleman, a real whiz with the clippers and shears.

I’ve been going to George for over a year now, and will continue going there for as long as I can. George is the very definition of a gentleman and a self-made man. He is also an artist, and knows exactly what you want. I’ve never had a bad experience, and no one that I’ve recommended to go there has either! Charges $ 19 /haircut, Cash Only. Simple, but the finest barber on the west side!

Best barber in the city. I’ve been going to George 10 years now. He has another barber working there that’s very good to. They use a straight razor to trim your neck which is hard to find these days.

I have been to George’s many times over the past ten years. The quality of the haircut is very good but I found the pricing inconsistent and on the high side. Parking is not the best.

George is awesome. Just as good as Camille with a LOT less wait time. And the lady must have gotten a lot better. She’s not as good as George but she still does a good job. Good haircut, good conversation.

I took my young guy here for a haircut. and although my son cried hysterically the entire time(he does this every time he gets a haircut), George was very patient and calm, much better than any of the other«kids» salons.

My father-in-law gets his haircut from George. My FIL is SUPER picky when it comes to haircuts, especially since he know how to cut himself. He only trusts George, which says a lot. I came with him the other day and understood exactly why he’s such a loyal customer. George is a great barber and just an all around great guy. Check him out

I’ve been going to George’s for almost 15 years. Always get a great haircut and I’ve been going there so long now that he already knows what I want but asks anyway in case I’m in the mood for something different. I usually wait for George and not his assistants. He charges $ 15 for a haircut but I always hand him a $ 20 before leaving. EDIT(12÷26÷09) — I hate to do this, esp. since I’ve been going here forever, but the last couple times I’ve been here, I’ve ended up getting a cut from George’s assistant, the middle-aged blonde lady. Both times, I’ve ended up with uneven cuts, meaning, after I get home and shampoo and dry my hair, there are strands all over the top that haven’t been cut. I don’t know if it’s her tools or just her but next time I go in, I’m waiting for George. That been said, I have to drop a star down for now.

For years i went to this shop to get my hair cut by David. David has moved on, but the new gal there, Suzanna, is just as good, if not better. The best deal in town — $ 15.00, and a GREAT haircut!

George is awesome. Best old school barbershop i’ve ever been to. This is a must if you live in LA!
