Echoing what pslice said. Nice selection, but hilariously over-priced, and the store owner has an odd demeanor.

If and when I sell a million dollar screenplay — this is the first place I’ll come to furnish my Venice loft. All antique furniture refurbished to look brand new. From swanky bar sets to full extension chairs, this place is the shit. But make sure to take your AMEX-$$$$

So here’s the thing… French 50’s and 60’s is a great little vintage homegoods boutique in Venice, they carry some of the most fantastic pieces Mid-Century modern furniture in Southern California. What I enjoy most is not the collection of minimal furniture but the presentation of the store, which really showcases the themes of French designs from the 50’s and 60’s. Surprisingly, the prices are more than reasonable, and the staff is beyond educated on every subject you could imagine.

Aha! I found it. I’ve been obsessed with trying to find the business card for this place, and I finally found it. Several months ago the hubby and I went to Abbott Kinney to seek out furniture from the store French 50s and 60s. We were very disappointed to find that it was closed! With heavy hearts, we drove to downtown Culver City in search for another store and just so happened to drive by Galerie Sommerlath. We were ecstatic to find the same mid-century furniture, imported from France and Denmark and a bigger selection. As it turns out, Galerie Sommerlath is owned by the same petite, French woman, and she told us that French 50s and 60s on Abbott Kinney was undergoing renovation. It was tough to narrow down our selection, but we did walk away with a key bedroom piece, as well as a cool side table/bar cart thing – hard to describe but super cool! In addition, our sales woman gave us contact info for a reupholster guy they recommend(the reason why I was desperately trying to find their business card because the contact info of the guy is on the back of it). Alas, problem solved.

One of the most unique shops in the area. Lighting, design & artifacts… specifically those lamps with the big fringed shades. My Grandmother had a red one in the living room, but it was not nearly as elaborate as these. A couple of the lamps had shades like umbrellas, and as large. I have only viewed thru the window… someday I will go in & learn the proper names for these styles of shades.
