Cream Dream Supreme If you’re looking for an enchantingly funky milkshake this is your go to place :) Cookie execution can be less crispy’crumbly but I think since its a build your own ice cream sandwich frontline the cookies harden while waiting to be chosen. Four stars for creativity You go coolhaus!

Lots of different flavours. I loved this place i drive about 20 minutes just for this ice cream. It is a little small so it can get crowded in there. The makers mark ice cream was the best ever. Wish they pisted what flavours they are making. I recommend this establishment

First time trying the single Sammy with mint chip and cookies and cream, and it was AmAzing. But does anyone else think that the mint chip taste a little like marijuana? Haha.

Good ice cream. The service is always slow. There always seems to be just one person working during the busiest times. You have to be really patient and wait. Then idiots needs to take pictures of their ice cream and hold up line.

Very interesting ice cream flavors. Balsamic fig and mascarpone was very good, albeit kinda strange on first bite. It had the salty and tangy from the balsamic mixed with the creamy sweet and kinda cheesy flavor of the mascarpone. It was intense! Loved there was big real pieces of fig in there. This one was my favorite. Bananas foster was not as intense but still full of flavor. The ribbons of bananas foster were not as prominent near the end but it still had rich banana taste. Didn’t get a lot of rum here as you sometimes do with banana foster flavors. Both ice cream consistencies were creamy and not icy. All in all very good!

Such a good place, their ice-cream is tasty. The staff is awesome and very friendly. The cookie/sandwich combo is amazing and Top Knotch. The flavors are on point and great.

I haven’t seen a Coolhaus truck in a while, since they’ve opened storefronts and branched out to some grocery stores. Needless to say, I was excited. As I stood in a very short line, the days offerings had exactly what I was looking for: dirty mint chocolate chip and for something different, a s’more cookie. This tasted great, with the edible wrapper. However, the service by the two ‘alternative’ girls working the truck was of the typical LA. hipster vibe to the extreme. Snotty(for lack of better words, I would have used stronger language, but I’m trying to stay decent here), rolling their eyes for any other simple requests that should have been accessible to customers(such as spoons or small box which has been provided during previous visits). Yes, it’s an ice cream sandwich, but some of us are sloppier than you and may require a spoon. Each request for these from the people in front of me warranted a look to the other girl working and a sigh. If working an ice cream truck is just TOO much for you, perhaps there are other things out there that are more to your liking. Long gone are the cute friendly girls and guys that operated this truck. In closing, for the better, go visit their storefronts if you have a chance. Again, great selections and the service is much more friendly. It’s completely worth it, even in ‘winter’.

Our haus, in the middle with ice cream. Our haus, cookie sandwiches, such a treat. I attended an event, and to my delight, Coolhaus Ice Cream truck was on hand to supply their delicious ice cream & cookie creations. I’ve never had the opportunity to try Coolhaus before, so I was giddy anticipating what I’d have to satisfy my frozen sweet tooth. Having a difficult time deciding what I wanted, I went with my instinct & stuck with what first stood out to me. Brown butter candied bacon ice cream in-between gluten-free coconut almond chip cookies– Very decadent & rich. The salty bits of bacon contrasted w/the creamy sweetness of brown butter, cutting into the sugar. I really enjoyed this ice cream. The gluten-free coconut almond chip held the ice cream together, not being too tough or too soft. The edible wrapper, made from potato starch, didn’t taste like anything. It was like eating Styrofoam. I believe having flavored edible wrappers would add even more creativity & fun in deciding what flavor combinations to come up with. The brown butter candied bacon ice cream started to melt halfway through eating my sandwich, making things quite messy. I made sure to eat hovered above a trashcan, so as not to make a total mess at the event & cause a scene. For seconds, I strictly went for ice cream as another ice cream cookie sandwich would’ve been too much, even for me. Spiked egg nog ice cream– Just in time for the holidays, the spiked egg nog ice cream tasted like having frozen egg nog. I asked what alcohol was used, to which I was replied rum. Another great flavor, with a little kick just for the heck of it. Service was great. The man & woman working the truck were friendly & quick with sandwich assembly. The guy even complimented the color of my dress shirt. Hey, I can’t blame him. I am a snazzy dresser, after all ;p Coolhaus has some creative imaginings of ice cream & cookies. The taste was on point with my brown butter candied bacon ice cream sandwich, and also with the spiked egg nog. Never too cold for ice cream, Coolhaus gives you the problem of trying to decide what flavor combination to create, which in all honestly, is not a bad problem to have. Even if you have to try all of them for yourself. Highly recommend! NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM

Meh. I wish I understood the hype. I’ve tried Coolhaus at least 3 times and I honestly have never really been impressed. Yeah, they have some unique ice cream flavors, and it’s cool that they let you try as many as you want. However, none of the flavors are that good, the cookies are so hard and they crumble after a bite, and yeah they just generally aren’t that great.

Best Tahitian vanilla ice cream I’ve ever tasted! The fried Chicken and Waffle is not for everyone but I was adventurous and tried it. It’s different, but I’m sticking to vanilla!

Bomb ice cream. I didn’t have the truck but the store that is located there. It was awesome and cheap. well worth it. Especailly the soft cookie and the junk food ice cream flavor.

Ice cream cookie sandwiches I got the potato chip cookie with guiness pretzel ice cream which I enjoyed. You can get unique flavors here and worth trying cuz their combos are different. Warning: it can get really messy on a hot day!

Though they’ve been successful enough to open a store and distribute products throughout grocery stores, I’ve been able to get a sandwich from the original Coolhaus Truck a couple of times during events. I like the architectural concept and the gastro flavors on both their ice cream and cookies. As long as the cookies haven’t gotten too cold(I’ve had to deal with that once and it was hard to bite into the sandwich) they’re really good. The standard chocolate chip is nice, but I’d say the Snack Chip cookie with potato chips and pretzel bits is my favorite. Cookies sometimes have cereal in them, too! Dirty Mint Chip seems to be one of their top ice cream flavors, but their boozy creations are fun to try – sometimes they’ll mix some local craft beer into the ingredients – and the Beer and Pretzels Ice Cream I last had was pretty delicious. The only drawback with the truck is that people flock to it, causing a huge backup because every order is customized, making it take a long time to get an order if there are only a couple of people on shift. Otherwise, I’m still a big fan of Coolhaus and their ever-changing menu, and I hope to visit their brick and mortar shop sometime soon!

No longer an ice cream truck. Apparently this is a pretty hip place to be. Even the standard vanilla and chocolate flavors have been hippified. The ice cream is delicious — soft and creamy, and the hippification of the flavors adds a nice non-standard touch. I tried 4 or 5 different flavors, including the bacon one, but that was kind of odd. In the end I ordered a scoop of the vanilla(without even trying it! I guess I’m a vanilla kind of guy). I should get used to ice creams that cost more for one scoop than for a half-gallon of Dreyers from the super market.

Ingenious? Perhaps not. Nonetheless, these are quite decadent treats. I would not even like to think about how many grams of sugar are in these build-your-own ice cream sandwiches. In an earlier review someone mentioned that they were a good deal at $ 5. Well, not exactly. You see, if you really want to build-your-own ice cream sandwiches, this is what you do: 1) Go to your local supermarket, buy a box of their baked-in-house cookies for around $ 2.50/$ 5.00; buy a half/gallon of your favorite ice cream around $ 4.00 and 2) gather your friends, and 3) make an afternoon/evening out of it.

Not super crazy about Coolhaus even though I may be the only one. It’s definitely an innovative approach to the Cookie Sandwich package but I thought the super-flavorful cookie mixed with another super-flavorful cookie mixed with a very rich and flavorful ice-cream middle was overwhelming and the resulting flavor was not in harmony with each other. Throwing three very different flavors all at the same time is kind of like throwing three wild cats in a cage and watching them deck it out: one is going to overrule and you won’t even notice another. Service is great though — so friendly and helpful. Also big fan of the potato paper: NINETHUMBSUPFORBEINGECOFRIENDLY!

I have mixed feelings about the Coolhaus Truck. Prefer their Pasadena shop which has amazing fresh cookies with an awesome variety of flavors. The truck, however, is limited in offerings. Off the truck I’ve tried their Guinness Chip Ice Cream w/Chocolate Chip Cookie. Had requested for Coconut Almond Cookies but was given DRY, Crunchy Chocolate Chip Cookies which tasted more on the stale side to be honest. Ice cream felt lacking in Guinness flavor, felt more like simple Chocolate Chip — Boring. Also tried their S’mores cookie which was moist and fresher than their Choc Chip Cookie, with Nutella w/Almonds Ice Cream. Couldn’t taste or detect any Almonds, and this was excessively sweet. Nothing extraordinary. Would rather eat straight Nutella out of the jar instead of this ice cream. Or better yet microwave some Nutella and mix it or pour it onto some store bought ice cream instead. Salted Chocolate Ice Cream w/Double Chocolate Cookie was quite good. Possibly the best combo I’ve tried off their truck. Ice cream was creamy, cookie was moist, very rich in chocolaty flavor and not too sweet. What I cannot stand though at the truck are those stupid ‘edible’ rice paper wraps they give instead of napkins or little paper cup/bowl things. It’s hard for me to scarf down a rich ice cream sandwich within 2 – 3 minutes flat without it dripping and melting all over my hands. It calls for a very messy situation which doesn’t make me feel quite ladylike. lol. But yeah… I think I’m done with the truck and I’ll stick to their shops instead.

What COOLHAUSICECREAMTRUCK I LOVE, LOVE this little truck! I was first introduced to this truck many, many moons ago when I worked for Yahoo! It was a pretty AWESOME assignment and I LOVED everything about it EXCEPTTHEDRIVE! Hated it, killer, wanted to hang myself, wanted to jab myself in the eye with a hot poker, maddening, suicidal drive, crack inducing, I need to hit the crack pipe type drive! Probably the ONLY thing I DON’T MISS about that job! They were forever celebrating the employees there! Or the employees were celebrating themselves for being so GOSH-DARNAHHH-MAZING and being able to deal with the cray-cray demands of vendors and the outside world, while keeping up with the demands of the information age we live in! It’s pretty tough to stay ahead of the game while doing your best to make it look seamless. We worked hard and we played even harder! People who worked from home would come in just for the food or whatever the activity, or give away they had going on there! I don’t remember why they got the COOLHAUS truck but I’m sure it was something like your still breathing after that AZZ chewing you just got and you didn’t give up or give in, way to go for being a team player, GOODJOB at not killing your fellow co-worker while working on that project that had you up all day and night without food and water or a bathroom break, NICEJOBNOT curling up into the fetal position under you desk and crying while you sucked your thumb… They were celebrating something and WHATEVER it was unless you were allergic you wanted and did participate! With all the employees in multiple shared buildings they were always organized and we would get tickets so other company FREELOADERS we shared the buildings with could not partake! haha! I had NEVER heard of this truck. Food trucks were sort of new back then and if you didn’t have a brick and mortar it took A LOT of lip service to sing your praises. We were sent a email with the times the truck would be there and what day! It goes without SAYING I was pretty excited the day the ice cream truck was going to come. It reminded me of my childhood when the ice cream truck would come down the street in my neighborhood or around the park playing that neurotic repetitive music melody that ONLY kids seems to enjoy! I knew the line would be long so I waited a bit, went to lunch, let my food digest and then went just before the truck was going to leave figuring the crowd would have died down… WRONG! Still a line to wait in. The wait was pretty quick and before I knew it I was at the window perusing the menu. I think we got like 6 ice cream flavors and 3 or 4 cookie choices. I went for the snicker-doodle cookie with vanilla ice cream and it came with edible paper that had the Yahoo! logo on it! SOFRICKINCOOL you could eat the paper. The REALLY neat thing is they can be hired for parties and will print you logo or initials on the paper. A pretty cool concept I had ONLY heard about but NEVER experienced with my own taste buds. The ice cream was NICE and CREAMY and the cookie was FRESH and DELISH! I’m sure they had chocolate for you choc-o-holics. I haven’t seen this truck in the OC or even in LA but should I go to LA I will keep an eyeball open! Keep COOLHAUS chiillin’!

Found this yummy food truck at LA Zoo’s Roaring Nights event last night! I’m more accustomed to Cream’s $ 2 sandwiches, so this price hike was a surprise. But they had some yummy sounding flavors so I decided to give them a try since the line was unusually short. I had their red velvet cookie with cream cheese frosting with nutella toasted almond ice cream. It was delicious! The cookies aren’t as soft and fresh baked tasting as Cream’s, but it was still pretty tasty. I read the sign that their wrappers were edible but by the time I was done with my sandwich my tipsy butt had forgotten and threw it away. I wonder what those taste like… and I will probably be wondering for a while since I don’t plan on tracking this place down any time soon. All in all, I enjoyed my sandwich was tasty and if it happens to cross my path again I will most likely be in line.

3.4 stars Very friendly staff. There was only one guy manning the truck though so the line moved pretty darn slow. I think I just got a bad flavor that day. I picked pistachio truffle, which sounds really good, but after a couple bites, I realized the truffle was not chocolate truffle, but actual mushroom bits! I don’t know about you, but to me, mushroom + ice cream = weirrrd. Hahaha! The pistachio flavor was good though, just the combo was kinda strange for me. The snickerdoodle cookies I got were real good though! Perfect texture and chewiness. They give you big portions. It’s a LOT of sugar for one sitting! Be sure to hit the gym after eating it just like I did, heh!
