I prefer their cel vinyl to acrylics for painting… the color mixes much better and retains its vibrancy well…
This is a great medium for quick sketch especially…

5 for product. If you are an artist that misses acrylics that float like silk, then this is your place. I feel as if this place is on the brink of extinction and since the lovely ladies of our time (which I like to consider myself) are not painting cells for good ol’ disney or hannah barbara… this ink/​paint needs recontextualization so JOIN OUR CALL LADIES AND GENTS, make this magnificent paint sing… on a variety of surfaces… let us not let go of the smoothest paint I have experienced since my childhood (my father is an artist) of the 1980s… lets give this space and place a chance… the color is awesome…
And now for the reality…
When I walked in the place was straight out of the 40s and not in a good way, the clerk behind the counter was on a personal call. Had to wait, she then gave me a color scheme and walked out of the room. I stood there fore 20 minutes, she did not come back. I had to use… shall I say it… It’s so rude… the bell… a different person showed up 5 minutes later, gave me a brush and the material I wanted. Let me play with it. The brush I painted on the paint surface in the space was a 30 year old brush (if your dad/​mum is not a painter you don’t understand) it danced.
I will definitely buy more paint here and perhaps a light box. Blue-​Rooster in Los Feliz suggested it for both… Because I was painting on Vinyl.
All I know is paint… and in a year or 2 I will tell you about the box

this animation supply shop has been around for over 50 years I picked up my light box here back when i was in college… the staff is friendly and very helpful… they also make custom light tables! what sucks is that they are closed on the weekends.
