The doc himself is great. Very helpful, patient and friendly. Unfortunately the staff is quite the opposite — in particular the older woman working reception. If you feel like being treated badly with a horrible attitude — EVERY TIME!!! then this is the place for you. The first couple of times I gave her the benefit of the doubt thinking she was having a bad day but unfortunately not. Those were good days! It only got worse and every time after leaving you almost feel her negative attitude somehow attached itself to you a bit, bringing down your day from the moment you leave.
They’re also crazy expensive.
I will never return again.

Dr. Van is great. Friendly, professional. Great, helpful staff. Theresa has been there forever, knows everyone and everything and does a great job.
I highly recommend. Been going there for more than 10 years. Easy parking. Takes my insurance with no problems.
Great selection of frames, although I would always love more, More, MORE of a selection, but I have always found something cool and hip from sunglasses, to computer glasses and now (yick) reading glasses! I can’t wait to get my new progressive D&G lenses. They look awesome and I’m actually looking forward to wearing glasses!

Quick, professional, and very thorough eye exam. A helpful receptionist and staff. Decent selection of frames at reasonable prices — didn’t seem like the type of place where they jack up some mid-​range frames into the $ 500 range just because they can.
Oh, and for what it’s worth, I didn’t have my insurance card and I didn’t have to fax anything in before getting an appointment, contra to what the one-​star reviewer stated. In fact, the staff was helpful and cool despite the fact that I forgot what my vision insurance company was even called.

Dr. Van is THE BEST. I’ve been seeing him for years, and it’s always a joy – dude is the friendliest and most professional eye doctor I’ve ever had. Plus, he fixes me up gooooooood. My astigmatism is, frankly, terrified of him.

It was just a regular eye exam. Everything went smoothly, from making the appointment to picking up my contact lenses. Everyone in the office is polite and friendly. I can see well with my new contacts.
(A couple years later) Same thing, but I got new glasses. Dr. Van is a professional and friendly guy, but not excessively or annoyingly friendly. Get what you need, none of what you don’t.
I haven’t hit any pedestrians ever since getting my eye exams at Dr. Van’s. I also haven’t collided with any pedestrians with my vehicle since then. :Thumbs up:
