I was originally assigned to the second floor, but my door was defective. So, I had to run downstairs to have my room changed, which they did. My new assignment was now on the third floor. Everything was fine except for smell of cigarette smoke everywhere, in both the second and third floors. I believe that the policy of no smoking is not respected by those are staying there. I’d really like to give this motel a good score but it does not live up to standards. Cost is about $ 75, from 3pm — 11am.

Even for a hotel in the economy /budget segment, the Microtel in Culpeper was a disappointment. The entrance hallway had a hole in the ceiling. The first room we checked into had hairs and stains on the sheets. We were given a new room after we informed the front desk. The replacement room was in better condition, although the sheets still had some hairs on it. We decided not to press our luck with a third room. There was no shampoo in the bathroom, so we had to request some from the front desk. Continental breakfast the next morning continued the trend of not fulfilling expectations. We arrived downstairs at around 8am to find that they were out of coffee, apple juice, orange juice, and grape juice — the only liquid available was water. And one of the bags of bagels was expired.
