I’ve become somewhat of a bison meat fan, just to avoid some of the GMO and hormone issues found in most store bought beef. We recently drove down to the retail store, and I found it to be clean and very well stocked. It was very cool to see the bison grazing on the way in. The do have a small stock of other items, but I was so focused on the bison selection, I overlooked it some. The prices are a little high when compared to supermarket beef, but the quality is worth it. I’m also looking to cut down on portion sizes, so I don’t find a need to get huge cuts of beef. Smaller bison cuts carry me well and I highly recommend them. Also purchased some trail sticks and jerky for the ride back to NOVA… awesome. If you have ever had those convenience store«meat sticks» you will appreciate these… they are real meat and are completely identifiable ;) A great pack/biking snack.

We drive two hours round trip to visit this little gem anytime our freezer gets low. The meat selection and quality is great. Their farming methods are no only good for the environment and kind to the animals, but product high quality products. The staff believes in their product and are excited to give you cooking tips. The extra bonus is that they allow you to stroll around the farm grounds, which are beautiful. A fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

Came through here on our way to vacation to get some buffalo to enjoy. The store is clean and has lots of meats to choose from. We chose some buffalo steaks and buffalo hot dogs, and cooked them within the next few nights. Both were very tasty, and I like that they are a free-range farm that uses humane methods. Would love to get some more meats from them when they come to a local farmer’s market!

Once again, as we do every year, we visited Cibola during this year’s annual«Culpeper Harvest Days Farm Tour» yesterday. Enjoyed the pastoral views of all the grazing bison, as well as the exhibits of their Jersey cows, Nubian dairy goats, & free-range poultry(geese, Muscovy ducks, & turkeys). Also a handful of California rabbits. Just as they’ve somewhat expanded their farm critters, they’ve also expanded the meat offerings in their retail store. While we again just purchased a package of their wonderful ground goat meat & a package of the equally wonderful free-range turkey drumsticks, they now also offer cuts of rabbit, free-range duck & goose, & already had a handful of whole frozen free-range turkeys for sale. Unfortunately, since they keep the stock of these non-bison items fairly small, they do not show up on the farm’s website(they do sell online). However, I’m sure if you’re interested in any of the above, they could easily be added to an online order. Everything we’ve purchased from these folks has cooked up absolutely delicious, so if you’re in the mood for delicious humanely-raised meat/poultry products, you can’t go wrong here.
