I had a very negative experience with D.B. Flooring on 9÷5÷13 and would not recommend them to anyone. Two days prior I had a very nice, helpful conversation with a woman from their company via telephone. She and I scheduled an appt for Betty to come to our house at 3:00 on 9⁄5. We were interested in having them refinish our hardwood floors and Betty was going to give us an estimate. On the day of the appt, Betty called me at 3:00 to say she was at the house. I apologized and said my husband was on the way and would be there in a few minutes(later I found out the interstate was down to one lane due to an accident, which is why he was late.) She said she would wait until 3:15 for him. At 3:05 on the dot my husband showed up at the house. While Betty was walking up to the house, my husband pulled our infant out of the car seat, said hello to Betty, then walked to the other side of the vehicle to help my three year old and four year old exit the car. It was then Betty turned around and walked back to her car. My husband assumed she had forgotten something in her car. Instead, she started to drive away. Her window was down and she yelled something out her car window but my husband couldn’t hear her because a garbage truck was driving by. She drove off and my husband had no idea what she said. I showed up at the house at 3:15 exactly and was very confused when Betty wasn’t there. My husband told me all that had happened so I called her immediately(still having no idea why she drove away or if there was something wrong.) When she picked up her cell phone all I said was«Hi, this is *» The first thing she said was«I am not interested in bidding on your house.» and without me saying anything she began saying things like«We had an appt for 3:00 and you are disrespectful for not showing up on time.» «I get that your husband has kids to help but he was rude by not giving me a proper greeting.» «I will not expose my staff to clientele like you.» She continually used phrases like«you people» and«people like you.» It was truly bizarre. And even though this woman clearly had some sort of personal issues that had nothing to do with me, I still felt insulted. The only words I could get out were«I’m shocked.» She replied«I thought you might be» and then hung up on me. I was stunned that someone in customer service would treat the public in such a manner. Plus it was just so bizarre! I called her back and left a voicemail very kindly asking her to give me a call back so we could discuss the situation with a more gentle tone. I apologized for my husband being 5 minutes late and asked if she could call me back so I could explain the circumstances surrounding that(the accident). At this point I knew we wouldn’t do business together but I at least wanted a peaceful resolution. She never did call me back. I found D.B. Flooring on Craigslist and I am clearly disappointed by my experience with them. Next time I will seek out a flooring company by word of mouth from friends. And one final note: we had a carpet installer out to the house that same day, same time. He witnessed the entire Betty encounter, he stayed to give us a carpet quote for a different area of the house, and is very happy to now have us as customers.
