I am dealing with the exact same issue as I see below– so I don’t think this is an isolated event! I too was given false information verbally upon signing my lease, very clear and bold mis-information. I was in a hurry that day, and should have stopped and read it, even though we were talking about the points right then and there, as we had(the manager, Staci and I) when I viewed the apartment. The only explanation for her actions that I can think of, is that she knew I was only signing the lease, based on this misunderstanding, and she knew that once I signed, I was locked in. Emails from her confirming this misunderstanding exist, as well, so this is not a he said/she said situation(later, she said she didn’t have the emails, even though I forwarded them to her). Very nasty communication, poor customer service, in simple, basic terms. No acknowledgement of what the other is saying, and I’ve had to make copies of my lease, and her internal accounting(which she provided) and give it back to her with my marks on it, showing her addition/subtraction errors. She charged me late rent for my move in month, you know, because I paid rent late. The fact that I signed the lease and got the keys, and paid 2 months rent in advance didn’t matter– she still said I was late! This is why I had to physically give her the lease, which clearly states(as every lease I’ve ever had does) that rent isn’t due until possession of the apartment is handed over! In emails, she completely ignored my statements about this, and charged it to me, and documented the charge in multiple internal documents. Maintenance resolution is nonexistent. Washing machine has been broken(you can see the coin tray is jammed just by looking at it) for over two months, and more seriously, the internal lights have been off twice in just the past month, so if you’re in the hall, or going down stairs at night, it’s pitch black. They need to re-evaluate how they communicate with tenants, handle their own internal accounting as well as basic landlord responsibilities. There’s NOWAY I’ll renew my lease, simply because of how Staci manages. Just like the other guy said, it’s a shame, since this is a nice location.

Really sad to write that this rental management company makes a lot of promises and false statements to get you to sign a lease. Poor management of their property at Gateway Edina — very poor maintenance and upkeep, noise issues, and sloppy response times. Property management’s reaction to tenants complaints is consistently that they don’t care. Really sad because Gateway Edina rental condos at 4910 W. 77th Street WAS a very nice property.
