Mudhouse is little more expensive than Starbucks but I’d much rather support a local business with fair trade coffee than a big chain. My favorite drinks are The Monkey, the Strawberry Smoothie, and the Vanilla Latte! There is nothing else in the entire world like The Monkey! It’s a mix of espresso, ice, cocoa, a frozen banana, half & half, and other things I’m sure. It’s blended together and topped with homemade whipped cream & chocolate shavings. SOOOGOOD! Also the Pumpkin Square — a baked treat — is TODIE for! You can’t beat the atmosphere here! Lots of big comfy chairs, fast wifi, and a great place to meet up with friends.

Made a quick stop here to pick up coffee and breakfast on a business trip through the area. Was disappointed I couldn’t stay longer! This is a fantastic place with a great atmosphere, fantastic food(I sorely regretted not trying the peanut butter pie), and friendly staff. Plenty of spaces to work, relax, chat. I imagine it’s a fantastic place to go for a chilled out evening. Will definitely be stopping by next time I’m in the area.

Great little artsy coffee house. Staff has been super each time I’ve visited C’ville. I’m a latte drinker and I always look forward to an early morning latte from the mud house. If you’re in the area you’ll be happy you stopped by this adorable little coffee house.

Pricey — a large soy latte over 5 bucks — and ¼ of the cup was foam. The ratio of espresso to soy milk and amount of foam made for a very strong burned bean flavor in my latte. I complained that my drink was to strong and didn’t taste right — and received a snarky comment from the register. Given it was my first time I was taken aback by the apparent indifference to my dislike of their espresso beans. Couldn’t drink the 5 dollar beverage– I asked for a cup of tea instead(which they didn’t charge me for). I would have preferred a new latte, but that wasn’t offered.

Visiting my friend who lives here, she mentioned the coffee shop, so I figured I would give it a try. Amazing! I walked in and said that I was here for one try so what should I have? The barista recommended a latte called the bora bora and a mudhouse power ball. The latte was amazing!!! I enjoyed the powerball, but I kind of wished I had chosen a pumpkin square instead. There were many sweet treats that looked amazing, so maybe I will just have to make one more stop. I think this is a stop where you can’t go wrong.

Great coffee and cool atmosphere. Only suggestion is that they should carry a larger size cup. To quote the beastie boys. «White castle fries only come in one size» Coffee should have size choices. Some days I need more caffeine than others. #GreatCoffee #JustSaying

Love the space and location but service is the most frustrating I have ever experienced in a coffee shop. Staff is rude, unhelpful, and could care less about getting your order right. When they mess up your order they will give YOU attitude instead of apologizing and making it over. Prepare to leave pissed off and annoyed.

espresso tart and«thin» and watery; a double fills the cup. Perhaps they pulled it too long? Wonderful food selection and comfortable atmosphere. Draft coffees were limited, but acceptable. I’d definitely go again if I wanted coffee and was in the area, but I wouldn’t drive all the way to Crozet just to go. BTW parking is a bear.

Overrated coffee and ridiculously overpriced. I live in Crozet and I no longer go, I’d rather travel 12 miles to Charlottesville and go to Starbucks; much better coffee!

This place has the best atmosphere, amazing staff, and excellent coffee. I make a point of getting a chai latte wherever I go just because I’m convinced Mudhouse makes the best chai latte in the world and I’m curious as to whether I can find something better. I’ve traveled across the U.S. and all over Europe, and Mudhouse still has the best chai latte I’ve ever tasted. Of course the other Mudhouse locations in Charlottesville are wonderful, but there’s something about the mood and the atmosphere at Mudhouse Crozet that is so inviting and comforting.

Enjoyed a slice of incredibly delicious strawberry rhubarb pie and ice lattes. Truly a wonderful surprise in such a little town. Coffee on par with ME Swings. Don’t skip this place!

Perfection! These folks compete in national competitions. They are that serious about their craft. The Crozet locations is more open and chill than their(also excellent) downtown cville location. When I was studying at UVA, I often made the drive out to Crozet to get my study on fueled by refill after refill. Cannot recommend this enough. The coffee sensai gave a TEDx talk on sustainability and coffee as commodity. Check that out if you are a coffee geek.

I discovered Mudhouse Coffeehouse & Bakery on a work trip to Crozet. The egg/ham/cheese croissant was Aaaa-mazing as well as the chocolate croissant pastry. I wish there was a Mudhouse bakery close to where I live. I would totally go every morning. I do wish the staff was a little more friendlier. The girls seemed like they needed a cup of coffee themselves, not as upbeat and welcoming as I’d like my baristas to be. Otherwise, the food was wonderful!

Very small serving of coffee for a lot of money! And, I felt like everyone’s eyes were piercing the back of my body. What happens is while you’re standing in line, everyone else that is sitting around using the free Internet and hanging out — stare at you. I think they call that people watching? Well, it’s creepy. There wasn’t much selection of food. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and it was not very good. I guess all of the good reviews are because there really isn’t anywhere else to go. You are much better off going back home and making a hot cup of coffee and your own muffin! Save your money.

A local coffeeshop, my husband and I stopped by after a blah-ish dinner. The staff were super friendly, and I loved the high ceilings. There were comfy arm chairs and a wall bench with tables where people were working/studying. I ordered a small cup of local apple cider(from Morris Orchard in Amherst, VA) — the cider is pressed weekly and has no preservatives. It was hot and delicious, and had a wonderful aroma of the spices. I also had their Pumpkin Square and a Curried Beef Turnover — the curried beef was actually pretty decent, and the ground beef was well-seasoned; the pumpkin square was decadent, moist, great ‘Fall-like’ spices with a nice topping of cream cheese frosting. A cute place to stop by to get a dessert and cider; it seems as if their coffee is pretty popular, too. +local apple cider +Pumpkin Square

Mudhouse Coffeehouse is my kind of place. Mudhouse coffee… two shots espresso topped off with coffee of the day is my kind of coffee… strong & flavorful. Wife got a glass of carrot juice to revive her. And they even had gluten free cookies & biscottis. Wow! All this in a very relaxed environment. I want to import them to CA.

Today’s review is inspired by the delishious cup of coffee I am delighting in this morning. It’s a good thing I don’t live near any of the Mudhouse Coffee Shops because I’d probably spend all my lunch money on coffee. Every time I’m around Crozet or Charlottesville I make it a point to stop by. The coffee is consistently good and their bread/pastries are really something to indulge in. I was recently given an amazingly thoughtful gift of ground Mudhouse coffee, so fresh, so flavorful. I prefer the Crozet location to the one in Charlottesville. Nothing but a personal preference. They both are great. They also offer juice, salads, and lunch type cuisine. So get your caffeine on while feeding your hunger. I see some folks think it’s too overpriced… I never thought that, but I pay a pretty penny any day for quality!

In addition to the great coffee, Mudhouse is one of the largest coffee shops I’ve ever been to. Ever. It quickly became one of my favorite go-to coffee shops for studying. I almost don’t want to share what a great place it is, lest I give away my secret study spot, but it really deserves the praise. Although technically 20 minutes or so outside of Charlottesville in Crozet, it’s far enough away for me to «escape» for a while but close enough to be a destination spot. The Crozet location has huge lofted ceilings, a good number of tables, both two-tops and four-tops, plenty of outlets, free wireless and comfortable chairs. And although there’s a steady murmur it never seems to get too loud. As if that wasn’t enough to entice you, they also have a pretty great food selection including pasta salads and pastries in addition to a delicious coffee menu. I’ve never felt rushed out of Mudhouse and the baristas will often make small talk about what I’m studying, or a new menu item they’re trying, and are generally patient and friendly and I’m always happy to tip well. I’ve never had any trouble finding parking right outside Mudhouse either, big bonus. Tip: Go early, study all day, and run across the street for dinner at Crozet pizza.
