The veal was a little tough, but the al pastor was great. I’ll give it 5 stars when they sell margaritas and coronas

How food should be: small family owned restaurants everything made in house. Fresh light and delicious. I only wish more people knew and recommended this taqueria. Best Mexican I’ve had in New York! Recipes right out of grandma’s kitchen!

Worst Mexican food. Never coming again. Ordered the saddest unflavorful burrito I’ve EVER ate even had to ask for the sour cream and it STILLLACKEDFLAVOR. Taco Bell food is even way better then this place. Also ordered the tortilla soup and it felt like I was eating OILSOUP. Even the horchAta wasn’t that great. HUGE disappointment

I’m Mexican and I can say that this place has hands down, the most authentic Mexican food I’ve tried in NYC

Another great addition to the neighborhood not only is the food great but the owner and his family make the place even better. They are warm and welcoming to everyone that walks in! Fast delivery too! Authentic flavors and the quesadillas rule!

They make homemade tortillas! Staff are the best kind of people in the world! They care how we enjoy their good food and they give you extra cilantro by a request. Kudos for that!

This tiny place is incredible! Had al pastor taco, carnitas taco, and the guacamole. All were delicious and a good price. The people who work here seem very sweet and the service was fast. I can imagine it could get crowded quickly but it was a small crowd when we arrived and everything was perfect.

I can’t even begin to describe how great this place is. Everything from the food to the ambiance to the friendly and fast service – this place is a real gem! A precocious, adorable fifth grader took my and my friend’s order. She was very professional and even brought out fresh, delicious chips and salsa to munch on while we waited for our take out. Once home, I inhaled my veggie burrito(and, yum! how many places make their veggie burritos with quality ingredients like zucchini?!). About halfway through, I said to my friend, «This is California good!!» Which is my highest compliment for any taqueria. Now, it would be great if instead of just pinto beans they also had a black bean option(for the burrito; they have black beans in their platters, so probably would’ve switched the beans if I’d asked), but I’m very happy with what they serve. I will definitely be back!

This place is new in the hood, but it looks to be family owned, at the very least it’s family operated(it’s literally family members running the place, kids & all) and the foods authentically made. The service is really great, the people there are super nice. Food is pretty good, iv had their nachos, flautas rice & beans. Quesadilla are a bit different however. They use a thick tortilla – which I actually like – but it looks more like a very big soft taco than a quesadilla. They carry Tamarind Jaritos tho! My favorite.

I just inhaled my food I ordered on grub hub. The chicken taco with handmade tortilla was just ok the chicken was tasty but it was kind of sad looking and they forgot my cheese. The steak burrito though!!! It was very good and filling. The chips were nice and warm and the guacamole on the chips was tasty. I loved that the burrito was wrapped up nice and secure I hate when burritos fall apart on me. I cut it piece by piece and it held its own. The food came very fast and the delivery guy was very nice :) I wish I took a picture but was too hungry! I definitely will order from here again.

I had three tacos one chicken, one steak, one fish(tilapia) they were all really, really good and I was especially happy that the steak was tender and not chewy. I decided that I didn’t like the cactus in the tacos but that’s just a personal thing. It wasn’t much anyway so it was easy to take off. I also had a tamale(chicken) with the green sauce and I liked that a lot too. The last thing I had(I was hungry! lol) was a chicken tostada, it was the tinga which is marinated chicken also good. Everything was just good and I left satisfied and full. I ate and enjoyed every bite and I also felt welcomed. I have nothing to complain about and I’d definitely go back. Everything I ate was just plain good. Simple 5 stars.

In the area and around the corner at a hotel, my innards were screaming for food. As I so often do, I happened upon this place due to solid Unilocal reviews. This is a small establishment that packs huge flavor in their meals. The prices are right and the service is friendly and quick. Not that I’m in that area often, but this spot warrants a special trek.

This is some of the most delicious and authentic Mexican food in Brooklyn. Their homemade tortillas are to die for. The quality of the food compared to the price is just unbeatable. The horchata is amazing. The service is fast and friendly and I love the environment. I would suggest the pork and pineapple tostadas. I will continue to order one every single time I go here, which is going to start being once a week.

Absolutely the best chicken mole burrito I’ve had in NYC. This family owned and run restaurant has a warm, friendly atmosphere. I always feel welcomed there. There’s limited seating, so the few people that grab a table are lucky. Service is relatively quick unless it’s packed. And always with a smile. Once again, and keep in mind that this is coming from a native Californian, BESTCHICKENMOLE I’VEHADINNEWYORK. The portions are great, especially the burritos. I also can’t get enough of their chips. Here’s a tip: bite into your burrito and shove some chips into it. Your welcome!

Tried this place since it’s right around the corner from my house. Came during lunch time for the 2 chicken tacos for $ 5.95 added guacamole and chips and rice and beans. I feel like the tacos for a dollar or so more should have came with something more. However the food is still reasonable. And great I’m taste not the best I’ve had but good. Will definitely come back. The restaurant its self is pretty small can maybe fit 4 parties of 2 – 4 in at one time. The also do take out and delivery. The staff was really nice and helpful.

This place is so much better than Chika Mexicana down the street. I’ve eaten here twice– once for brunch, once for dinner– and it has been delicious. I would recommend getting their homemade tortillas, you must specify on most dishes. The quesadilla with those tortillas is fantastic. The huevos rancheros are a very typical dish, nothing too special, but with very fresh ingredients. My friend had the cactus brunch dish and was very impressed with the flavor! Will be coming back for my Mexican fix.

I can’t stop thinking about this place! The food is amazing, authentic, never soggy or made in a rush. It is small and feels so comfortable and laid back. I live across the street from Chika, so it took me a while to finally try it out. Once I did, I was hooked, and went back the next day for breakfast. I had fish tostada, which was delicious and amazing. The tacos are not soggy and the cheese is just right. I also had good old Huevos Rancheros — perfect. Please try this place. The owner seem like such good family people. They are attentive and you can tell they care if you enjoy the food. I can’t stop telling people about it. No shade to Chika, but this place is really getting it right.

My Wife and I moved to Brooklyn from L.A. about 2 months ago and we have been looking for good Mexican food in NY for some time, it seemed that we were gonna have to go to Queens or the Bronx or somewhere far out in order to get Good Authentic Mexican Food with Handmade tortillas. We found this place and man were we happy we found it! We will definitely be going back for more! My wife ordered the chicken quesadilla and I ordered the steak enchiladas, the meat was good, not overlooked and not fatty but tender and had good flavor. The beans and rice were also very good with good texture and flavor. Try the Shrimp tostada, Very Good as well! Overall, this place was great! We will be going back for more!

5 stars and more! This brand Mexican restaurant offers awesome, authentic Mexican fare. And when I mean authentic I really mean it. Y’all from crown heights have got it lucky with another jewel to place in your crown. My gf and I tried the quesadilla de tinga made with homemade tortillas(one can tell the difference!), tostada de chorizo(very soft and tasty chorizo, not deep fried like most places), and a bistec burrito. The chips and salsa were fantastic(again, the salsa offers more flavor than actual spice which is what it’s all about IMO!). To conclude, the horchatas were infused with sticks of cinnamon which could be tested well through the end of the cup. Will I be making the trip out again? You betcha. Good luck guys! A true jewel of Crown Heights.
