Ate dinner here. Baby back bbq ribs were excellent and tender. Service was prompt. They are closed Monday & Tuesday. Open for lunch and dinner 1130a– 800p. Need to get there early before they close. Note: Large flag sign permanently staked in ground says open but closed at hours mentioned. Nice country décor.

Super cheerful server. Great beer variety. Oh, and the BBQ(and sauces) are spectacular. From meatloaf to pulled pork to brisket to ribs… everything satisfied. Ordered a bread pudding to go as apparently that is a reason it itself for a visit. A real gem of a find up in a sparsely populated area! And… their WiFi is exceptionally fast(they apparently have a fiberoptic link).

A fantastic find and walking distance from the Sierra sky lodge. Our waitress was very friendly and they had wifi too! The food was above average BBQ(common in this part of California) but the service and ambiance is what pushes this up to a 5 star place. They also had a great selection of local beers! Yay Beer!

Best food, atmosphere and service in the area. Unilocal check-in nets you some down home fried pickles. Have been here numerous times, never disappointed. BBQ has just the right amount of smoke. Fries are fresh cut and the bread pudding is sinful!

WOW! Very good southern-style food. My boyfriend is moving here for a job, so we came up to check this place out. We are from the L.A. area and were excited to try to local spots. LOCATION — don’t be afraid if you try to find this place at night. In the middle of what seems to be the butt-crack-of-woodsy-mountain-nowhere is this place, with lights and a very filled up parking lot of patrons. Plus — it is biker friendly. Lot’s of bikers up in these parts. ATMOSPHERE — this place starts you off right by greeting you with a huge screen door on a porch, just oozing with laid-back country feel. Our server Becky, whom we thought might be the owner, was super nice. Turns out she isn’t the owner, but the place is family owned and operated. The napkins are real red paisley bandanas — can you say CUTE? Everything was fresh, clean, country, and there is amply room for your tummy to expand several inches as you eat in the booths. FOOD — I was SUPER bummed they were out of the fried catfish and chicken fried steak(it was a Saturday night), so I ordered the meatloaf, macaroni and cheese, and coleslaw. My boyfriend got the ribs, mac, and mashed potatoes. The bones on the ribs slid out clean — that’s how tender they were! Everything was homemade — the cheese sauce on the mac was super creamy and cheesy. TEA — I’ve never had real sweet tea — just the headache-causing super sweet tea from McDonalds. But the sweet tea here is REALLY good — you can tell they brewed tea and sweetened it themselves. Subtle and refreshing. DESSERT — We felt like we would explode from food and the waitress didn’t want us to go home without trying the homemade bread pudding or cinnamon cheesecake — UGH… we went for the cheesecake and WOW, SO good. The crust(which is the best part of a cheesecake to me) was ½ inch thick, moist, and everything I could ever want. I’m really glad my boyfriend will be living here in a month, because I REALLY want to try the catfish. And steak… and everything else. Time to dig up my P90X DVDs again.

The ribs here are awesome. They are the juicy fall off the bone meaty variety and the sauce is great too. Get a full rack dinner to share!

Heck YEEAH! At the risk of sounding cheezy, this place is the !! So yummy and so much fun! I would drive 90 minutes from Reno to go here. I heard that there had been a number of restaurants that tried to make it in this building and that it wasn’t super close to the surrounding cities, but I think those are just excuses! Give these people your business and make exceptional local restaurants like this THRIVE! We started the party out with some Fried Pickles, Mushrooms and Onion Rings. All battered perfectly and a small basket was more than enough for the 2 of us. We washed that down with some pretty fan-freakin-tastic fountain Mountain Dew. They had a really good selection of beers as well. The menu was so much fun that it was really hard to choose what I wanted. The special of the day was Redneck Tacos with Sweet&Savory Beef Brisket covered with homemade coleslaw. That needed to happen-so my husband ordered those with his choice of side: Sweet Potato Fries. I was leaning towards the burritos, but then decided on the Chicken BBQ Sundae. Imagine a pretty glass with a layer of homemade mac&cheese, a layer of shredded chicken and a layer of homemade red potato salad to top it off… oh and a sliced pickle on the side of the glass like a lime. So cute and imaginative! As if this all wasn’t great enough, we chose between homemade pie, a Twinkie sundae & homemade bread pudding. The bread pudding won out and it was quite tastylicious. My husband devoured most of it, but I particularly loved the brown sugar/cinnamon goodness around the edges. The best part was our server who I am guessing is also the Owner or Manager. She was very helpful and friendly. She gave great service yet gave us our space to take our time. We will be back next time we visit Graeagle and surrounding area!

Been meaning to write this review since my visit there in June. I drove by this place a couple of times on my way back to Reno from Almanor before I finally stopped. There always seemed to be several cars and/or motorcycles out front which I took as a good sign. On the day I went it was no exception. Imagine my apprehension when I went in and found that most of those belonged to a party of about 20 people who were sitting at a long table down the middle of the dining room. Since I had been looking forward to trying the place I decided to suck it up and get a table anyway. What happened next really sold me on this place. The table of 20 were waiting on their food when I sat down and ordered mine. I figured I was in for a long wait as there were a few other tables as well. Just a few minutes after I ordered the servers started bring food to the large table but before they got through it all out came my lunch. The server explained that the chef did not want to hold my ticket up behind the large table so went ahead and did mine in the middle of the others. That is called service. And the food was good to boot. Smoky pulled pork on a soft bun with a nice tangy sauce hit the spot. I will be back.

Have been by this BBQ joint a number of times but was always in to much of a rush to try. Was in a rush yesterday but stopping in for 20 minutes was one of my best uses of 20 minutes ever. When going through the Quincy area, I will now arrange my travel so I can stop in for lunch or dinner. Most importantly, Neighbors has good BBQ. Chicken(mine was pulled), pork, brisket, etc. with all the sinful sides but they did have broccoli and cauliflower mixed vegetables as I was trying to be somewhat good. Neighbors has the traditional BBQ plates: serving of meat with sides. However they also go the step behind to do something creative. Me? I chose the chicken redneck burrito. Instead of rice and bean in the burrito, Neighbors used mashed potatoes with some BBQ sauce. The BBQ sundae, macaroni and cheese topped with meat of one’s choice and BBQ sauce, almost got the nod this time. Just means I will have to get it next time. :-9 Friendly attentive service. I ate half of my burrito, boxed the other half, and was getting ready for the road. The waitress notice I hadn’t finished my soda so she asked if I wanted a to go cup. Yup, a to go cup with a new serving of Diet Pepsi. Only gripes, just because I can, are: 1) wished the played some good blues rather than the pop music coming out of the speakers; and, 2) Diet Coke tastes better than their Diet Pepsi. While I can’t justify driving an hour from Truckee just for this barbeque, I will try to make time for it if life brings me to the Quincy area. Yes, I am a super fan. Just wish I could find more BBQ places like this. If they were in Truckee, they would run Smokey’s Kitchen out of town.

We thoroughly enjoyed this casual BBQ joint with great food. What is rule #1 when first visiting a new BBQ restaurant? Get the ribs, of course! I had their ½ rack special for $ 13.99(two specific sides rather than a choice of sides for $ 16.99). Fall off the bones delicious. My wife had the Redneck Burrito(which comes with one side) for $ 9.99. She loved it. We then split the delicious bread pudding dessert(HEY, we’d been hiking all day!). The restaurant is right on Hwy 70 as you approach Cromberg from the Quincy side of «town.» It’s a classic knotty pine dining room, complete with a porch, a gravel parking lot, friendly staff, and great food.

The food here is simply great! Someone else said«awesome» and we have to agree! Their pulled pork is delicious, the barbecued EVERYTHING is wonderful, and we love their beans and salads. Every time we go, we take more friends or family with us and everybody loves their meals, even the picky ones. Try anything on their menu and I promise you will love it. This restaurant is just 12 minutes from Quincy, halfway to Portola, and we would be willing to drive much farther to find anything as good in the area. The friendly, helpful owners themselves wait on you and cook up your order. The atmosphere is down-home comfortable, and they serve local ales. We will keep going and we encourage you to give it a try yourself. — Roni and Joe

We were camping with our motorcycles at Lake Francis in Dobbins and made a beautiful day trip to Graeagle, Cromberg, LaPorte back to Dobbins. We met some friends at Neighbors BBQ as a half way point because they were staying at Lake Davis. What an excellent rendezvous point! One of the owners was our waitress and advised us we would enjoy her hand breaded onion rings, she was correct and I do suggest giving them a try. My wife and I shared the combination BBQ which was plenty of food and everything was cooked perfectly. Tender ribs, tasty brisket and some nice semi-spicy sausage. We were pretty darn full at the end of the meal but she of corse had to tempt us with her homemade bread pudding… oh the agony of eating too dang much good food, her pudding is some of the best I have ever had and all I can say is do make room and try it!

Just had lunch there yesterday. REALLY awesome food(no pre-fab food here) and great, friendly service. If you’re there for lunch and want more of an entrée and not a sandwhich, ask for the dinner menu. They accommodated every request we seemed to have. Dinner menu meant I was able to get a platter of pulled pork, beef brisket and 2 sides(baked beans and coleslaw). Oh and we almost stayed for another round when we had the bread-pudding for dessert. Also REALLY, REALLY good!!! It’s made there in-house by the owners daughter. As has been the case with some other of my reviews, this place more than deserves the business. We’ll be back every time we are either in the area or passing anywhere nearby. If you’re in the area, go there!

Sat outside on the deck in perfect weather. Great wait staff. Had the brisket grilled cheese(very tasty, with maybe a tad too much sauce) and half rack of baby backs(falling off the bone and yummy). Loved the fried okra. Good variety of beer. We were very glad to try a new place near Graeagle(this is in Cromberg). Will be back next time we are up this way.

We were headed elsewhere and happened by this place and I said, «Stop! Go back!» and that’s how we wound up having great beer, barbecue and service in the middle of nowhere. We were unsure about the place so we asked for samples of the three beers on tap(they’re brewed in nearby — I could be wrong about this — Graegle, I think) and I liked that, plus their attitudes, so we ordered up a couple beers and asked for a table. The bartender was a cute young chap and our server was a knowledgeable, helpful lady who was a star. The owner strolled by later, humble and exhausted. We quizzed her on how she came up on such a successful model and she told us about her travels. Anyhow, the food: they have homemade, deep-fried pickles(served with homemade ranch). Oh, be still my vinegar-loving heart. A small basket satisfied the three of us while we waited for our entrees. They also served some powder sugar dusted cornbread cakes — hot and just moist enough to tell you they were freshly made. I had the grilled cheese stuffed with brisket. It was perfection. Add a little of their spicy barbecue sauce and layer on some slaw and it was heavenly. My dining partners both opted for redneck burritos — your choice of barbecued meats, beans, slaw, and other stuff(I guess — I wasn’t paying attention). We also got sides of collard greens and deep fried okra(yum). The log cabin lodge setting was cute and it was decorated tastefully — lots of bandanna stuff, and vintage-y country(but not too country) motif. For example, above us was a retro Johnny Cash poster. It wasn’t over done at all(like some places can be). The menu had lots of great choices(I wish we were hungrier so we could have tried more). I’m not even sure what road this is was one but if you’re in the area, look it up and go. It’s that good — the people and the beer AND the food!

I’ve been here twice and both times it was superb. Happy Hour ends at 6 and the first time we split everything on the happy hour menu to try it all. The sliders are addictive! Pulled pork or brisket crowned with crunchy coleslaw The ribs were ½ a rack but in most places this would be a full rak! Meaty and tasty with a wonderful homemade sauce. The loaded fries are amazing! The only thing that didn’t wow me were the chicken wings, but were still good! On the 2nd visit we had the cromburger and ribs with side salads. Again, a huge portion of ribs sold as a half slab filled me up! The burger was great and the salads were fresh with home made dressing. Tried the twinkie sundae for desert. Try one before their stash in the freezer runs out! Its a bit of a haul from my cabin, but worth the drive!
