Purchased a groupon and had surgery on 12÷4÷15. I have a medical background and did a lot of research before going to LVI. They claim this is an optimized treatment, but I did look at the«map» before surgery and it clearly shows a topography-guided map of my eye, to lead me to believe this is a true topography-guided Wavelight treatment. This is definitely not traditional, like the Groupon tells you. They use the same laser a lot of more expensive lasik places use. The Wavelight EX500. They do not use the FS200 femtosecond laser that comes in the Wavelight package; instead, they use a microkeratome. This is why a lot of people will need to have PRK instead of Lasik here, which isn’t necessarily bad(no chance of flap dislodges with PRK) I believe one of the main reasons they will be cheaper than competitors, however, the $ 1,000 cheaper price sold me on accepting the microkeratome. I know my cornea thickness and knew I would be eligible for Lasik. The healing process has been a little slower in my right eye than my left and I did have some bad discomfort in my right eye until I woke from a 3 hour nap later that day. I am better than 20⁄20 in my left eye and my right eye is just slightly behind. Halo/glare at night decreases slightly every day. TIPS: 1.) Do not wear contacts for a week prior to your consultation, and keep them out until your surgery date. 2.) Prepare to be waiting on surgery day. They schedule a lot of patients and you will be here over 3 hours. 3.) Take your Valium like they tell you. No matter how tough you are, it will help control any muscle spasms, agitation, nervousness that you might experience when the suction goes on your eye. It will also help you concentrate on focusing on the red light of the laser. 4.) Immediate Post surgery, keep your eyes closed as much as possible, and wear your eye guard like they tell you! Flap complications will be minimized!!! 5.) Start an eye supplementation régime. I recommend Lutein Vision support by Zenesis labs, but there are others with the same ingredients. 6.)Refresh optive advanced are really good drops! Why not 5 Stars!!! The surgeon listed on their page for St. Louis was not the surgeon that day! I spent almost an hour researching the Dr listed on their page, to find out surgery day there is a different surgeon!

Katie and Josh were great, they were very hospitable but it was 6 hours from start to finish. The company really needs to think about how to more efficiently move patients through the steps on surgery day. For a 20 minute surgery, it was very laborious. So far, results look promising, which is most important.
