i echo the previous post by Jess A. This little shop is great to walk into. The aroma of the fudge knocks you over and you think you died and went to heaven. Great local business that has great products at reasonable prices.

I don’t know which I love more, local business offering amazing handcrafted goods or copious amounts of sugar. Luckily Olde Tyme Fudge doesn’t make me choose — they offer both. OTF features site-made fudge in an array of flavors(in fact I may or may not be ruining my lunch right. now. nibbling on the peanut butter milk chocolate and pumpkin nut varieties), a decadent variety of chocolates(I will be back for the bourbon truffles), local favorite Graeter’s ice cream and assorted candies. We walked in to the owner(I failed to get her name… shucks, I guess that means I’ll have to go back…) making a batch of Rocky Road fudge. After she was done, she patiently handed out samples of no less than 10 fudge flavors to my kindergartener — ‘because he uses good manners,’ she reasoned with me. Mmm hmmm, I know you Grandma types a mile away and you’re all suckers for his big brown eyes. But that goes to show that local shops give special service, and that was much appreciated. The only thing missing from Olde Tyme Fudge was, well, customers. I hope it’s because we came in on a weekday night, but suspect they’re not getting the traffic they deserve. This shop is wonderful and a unique addition to the town’s culture. I promise to do my part to support it with repeat business. You should too — and come with sweet tooth firmly in place :) PS — the listed address isn’t correct which means I couldn’t check in. Boo. I’ve submitted an update to the business info but when in doubt check them out at 1004 Grange Drive in La Grange.
