The Redwoods RV Resort

Clean, well managed and easy to find.
We drove in and immediately knew we would like the park.
I wish we could have stayed longer.

We LOVED our stay here. Park was beautiful! Shaded by huge Redwoods & ferns. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. They even threw a FREE BBQ dinner for all the park guests on July 4^th (ribs, corn, beans, potato salad, hot dogs, cake, lemonade).
Sites were spacious and clean. Laundry & showers open ²⁴⁄₇. Had firewood on site for $ 7/​bundle
(same price as Walmart). Internet was free, though a little spotty. Camp was very dusty, but staff came through daily spraying a little water to keep it from getting out of control. Each site had a nice sturdy picnic table, fire ring & full hook ups.
We passed about 5 other area RV parks while
Driving around and none seemed as pleasant as Redwoods RV park. The others seemed to have smaller sites, wide open in the sun (no redwood shade).
Only draw back was NO POOL at the site, but staff was right and it did seem a little cool out to swim.
We weren’t planning to return to CA again, but we would absolutely stay at this park if we ever came through again.

We had a very nice stay here. We stayed in a cabin, but also for one night in a tent for the boys as well. The cabins are very nice, as are the tent areas. The cabins are clean with the exception of the coffee pot. It was fairly affordable. The employees were generally friendly. We wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Very pretty, easy going staff, Clean, worked perfect for us. We thought. It was the best in the area. Good access to Jedediah smith redwoods. Yes! Stay here.

Seems like a good place if you have an RV and can get a spot toward the back of the campground.
We, however, were given a site that is surrounded closely by three other RV sites and has NO privacy at all (other than the privacy your RV will directly provide). Beware of site #6 & the sites surrounding it.
Small campground that is clean, family-​friendly, with a playground, open grassy area, and dog-​washing station, as well as a laundry facility and showers/​bathrooms.
MAJOR drawback: the Fort Dick volunteer fire dept is right across the highway, so if there is any emergency (fire, car accident, medical emergency, etc), a VERY loud siren is sounded so that all the nearby volunteer firemen can hear it. Unfortunately, so will you. They warn you when you register so that you don’t mistake it for a tsunami warning. While we were there, it went off just after 3am one night, 3pm the next day, and 10 pm later that night. The 3am one was a little rough. That being said, it does only go off for about 30 seconds, so it does end quickly.
Another note: Pelican Bay State Prison is also just across the highway.

We spent on night on our way up to Montana. Made reservations online on the road staff was very accommodating Got in late, campsite was perfect, Close enough to the (no token) hot showers and bathroom. Everything was clean and well maintained site picturesque. The campsites are beautiful and well kept up. ours was #20 nestled in the redwoods. There is some road noise but did not bother us. Would definately stay again.

I hate to write a bad review on such a beautiful place, but had a bad experience there.
First of all the park is ran by a 20 year old female that is totally clueless when it comes to RV ‘s and campgrounds for that matter. The office is a beat up Tuff shed. The management is off site so good luck trying to get anything after check in!
The park is not geared toward any big motor homes or fifth wheel trailers. Spots are pretty tight when it comes to large RV ‘s. I was about 24 inches from the camper next to me. I was out in a spot that I could not walk around my coach or get to the rear door. I tried to get moved to a different spot but no luck for the reasons already stated. The night before we were to leave the manager finally said I could move after she saw where they had put me. I just stayed in my spot and left in the early morning.
It is a shame this place is ran so poorly. They did say it was there last year managing this park. So who knows maybe next year it will be good.

Most of the reviews on here are true and accurate. Not all the sites have the same star value. I made reservations online and had the «deluxe pull through». My site wasn’t bad (site 37) but there was nothing deluxe about it. I felt bad for the family next to us on site 39. They had absolutely no room to hang out. Their picnic table was within several feet of my sewer hose.
I had several kids that raced through our site as if it was a path to their campsite.
Pros: Lots of trees and shade.
Nice staff managing the park. The groundsman noticed a limb barely touching the top of my 5^th wheel and cut it off.
Clean bathroom
Much nicer than the KOA nearby

Cons: Dated facility
The internet speed was terrible (basically dial up speed to an occasional 0.5mbps)
Very basic cable — no digital channels. Although, we didn’t come here to watch TV
Not an ideal location to visit the State and National redwoods park.
Even with the cons, I would definitely come back again.

Just stunning! Nestled in the redwoods. Nice staff, playground, laundry, grassy area with horseshoes and volleyball. And a short but beautiful trail thru Fern and redwood forest. Very clean too! My favorite campground on our two week trip up the CA coast!

The cabin we stayed in was awesome. Had a bathroom and shower and heater. Its says «fully furnished kitchen» but its not. They told me I would have an oven, so we brought cookies to bake, and there was no oven. That part should be taken off of their description. The TV was a little small for being so far away from the beds. I just wish this place was a little more reasonably priced. Its right across the street from the prison, and since I go there once a month I would love to stay here instead of a hotel but at almost $ 200 a night it is not affordable.
More Groupons PLEASE!!! Oh and one bed was a blow up mattress, not a real mattress. Staff was very friendly, WiFi did not work.

This place is a slice of heaven!!! I will be back for years to come. Already planning a road trip back in January.
Friendly staff. Breath taking scenery. Red wood trees on/​in between every camp site. Almost perfectly leveled site. I could go on and on. You won’t find a nicer place to camp/​RV than this one!

prettiest place i’ve seen. gorgeous surroundings and the campgrounds are nice and clean. everyone was nice. the cabins are clean and cozy. everything you could possibly need. would stay here again!

Such a beautiful RV park and campground. We had site #38. There some with a bit more privacy, but we were happy where we were. This is the prettiest place we have stayed in a long time. Quite and peaceful. Friendly hosts. WiFi worked well. They had a few cable channels, basically enough to watch the news. For $ 38.00 a night, this is an outstanding park. Would stay there again if passing through the area. Not much to do in Crescent City. We discovered Enderts Beach. A low-​tide beach with star fish everywhere. The rocks where covered! We ate at the Chart Room on the pier, excellent food, bustling with locals and tourists.

This was really nice for an RV park! It was well maintained and wooded. We rented an adorable cabin, which was such a good call! It was romantic, quiet, clean, and comfortable. We had a nice little porch facing the redwoods for evening wine and morning coffee. Fortunately the kids on site quieted down by 10:00 and didn’t start up real early in the morning. It surely beats anything in Crescent City, which is not a resort town to say the least. We would stay here again.

Campsite #21 is thee BEST !!! tucked in the corner — private, lush of trees, part shade — part sun. Plenty of room to park 3 cars
Other family members stayed in cabin #3 … it was nice, in the upstairs loft you can NOT stand up, I would only recomend this sleep space for a kids. the tv didn’t work nor did the fireplace, but that was ok … we were out an about exploring.

You are 20 mins from the beach … 20 mins from the Smith River … 10 mins (tho it feels a world away) from town (with fast food, safeways, starbucks, and cool little thrift store, head shops too)
HWY 101 is a great drive.

This is a GREAT alternative to the state and county parks. We met a lot of great campers here in huge RVs to tent trailers to just tents.
Pluses: Internet, clean, power, electrical, showers, laundry room (very small machines), quiet, playground.
Minus: office only open 10 — 2 and the lights are on all night long so while camping you never really got darkness.
Two miles up the north road there is a Ray’s Market for all your regular needs. Down about 15 mins on the 101 in Crescent City there is a drive-​thru Starbucks.
One reviewer said there are trails to walk off the campsites — we walked the entire campground and didn’t find a trail anywhere. But the trees are wonderful!
Easy drive to Redwood Parks nearby and to Oregon Habor towns.

Great place to stay if you have an R.V. complete hook-​ups. Has a shower area for humans and dogs. Even has cabins, if you’re camping with other people that won’t fit in your R.V.
Cabins are on the pricey side but great place, feels safe and in a secured area, and has a little play ground for kids.

We camped here in a travel trailer. Found they were top rated in the area on a RV review site and decided to stay here. We stayed here for two nights but wished we had stayed here a week.
The sites are private as RV sites go. You back into your own little grove of redwood trees and you are set. The sites are incredible and you are camping below giant redwood trees. How can it get any better?
They offer all the amenities and then some. We had full hookups with cable and wifi that actually worked great with a strong signal. There were activities on site, a playground and horseshoe pit and a dog washing station. There was a very small store on site with some basic supplies and activity information. Never checked out the showers or laundry room.
On the north side of the park (I think it was behind site 21) there was a series of trails that went back to some huge old growth redwoods that had fallen. We had a great time exploring there, but watch out for poison ivy.
It’s close enough to town that it is a quick drive. You are right in the middle of everywhere you want to be in the area. We did the Trees of Mystery, Stout Grove in Jedediah Smith Park, the Battery Point Lighthouse and visited the upper left corner of the state.
It’s rare to find a RV park with the level of privacy that the sites offered. Truly one of the top 5 places I have ever RV’d. Side note, they also have cabins for rent if you want that instead.

If you haven’t actually stood beside a California Redwood, you will be overwhelmed by these incredible trees. The Redwoods RV Resort is nestled into a fantastic Redwood grove, just minutes from Redwood National Park and the spectacular Northern California Coast.
We stayed here in our RV about 6 years ago, when it was named «Ramblin’ Rose RV Resort» and just returned again. The resort is under new management, and it’s obvious that they’ve spent a great deal of time and money on major renovations. The place is fantastic… much nicer than our last time here. Everything is clean and new, including the Wi-​Fi and cable TV.
Sites are large, level and secluded, with lots of space, trees, and ferns between us and our neighbors. They have brand new 50-​amp full-​hook-​up sites, with room for any size RV (ours is 43′ long, so that’s important to us). The Redwoods tower overhead, making campsites really feel like part of the forest. There is also a large, open, grassy area in the middle of the resort, making for a nice mix of forested and pastoral environments.
There are also lots of secluded, wooded tent sites, plus modern (and very luxurious) cabins with nice covered decks. SInce this is an area we’d love to share with our families, the cabins would be perfect for us to host family without them having to stay on the RV or in a tent. The manager was nice enough to show us inside one.
We will definitely come back to this park any time we visit Northern California’s Redwood Forest.
