This place has some bad reviews and for the most part they are all unfounded and seem to be written by people who expect to have some über fancy range because it will make them a better shot. If you are out to sling some rounds down range, work on your form, zero in your weapons, or even shoot some skeet then this is a good place to go. There are multiple lanes for rifles and pistols and the staff will call the range cold if you need to set up your targets or to move your targets to different distances. The rifle range goes out to 100yards with preset braces every 25yards. The rifle and pistol range costs $ 10/per person per hour. Range is open 9am — 5pm You cannot shoot full metal jacket rounds due to the issues it causes with buffer zones ie the round travels farther and causes more damage to the berm. The only downside is that the area down range could use some maintenance after the rains. I also suggest not driving there in a car unless it has a little bit of ground clearance just because of the few potholes on the road off of 1077. If you are one of those people who feel that they need some kind of designer range to be a good shot, then this is not the place for you. If you know that the range doesn’t make you a great shot but practice does then go check it out.

I passed by there to check it out and the gate to the entrance was opened so I drove through. As I got closer to the office(definitely a run down shack) I parked and looked around. No one was there to greet me and I didn’t see any signage like the other reviewers said. Doesn’t see any prices or hours. After looking around I went back to my car and saw someone pulling up and the man driving looked at me and(yelled not ask) «What was I doing here». I told him I wanted to check it out and get pricing/hours…he looked at me and yelled«how did I get in here» and I said«the gate was open» and he said” it’s not suppose to be we’re closed” …all in all he was a rude a$$hole and Wouldn’t recommend… waste of time.

Not sure how I feel about this place. I called ahead but never got an answer — I got a generic answering machine«leave a message» with no info or even mention of the company name. So I just drove over there. It’s laid back but not in an unsafe way — which is good. I used the handgun range which is next to a rifle range. Stationary target boards at about 20 feet I think. Bring your own targets — I’m not sure if they sell any there or not — didn’t see any. The rangemaster that was there was plenty friendly. Like another reviewer said, there’s no signage at all and no one to greet new customers to tell them the procedures or rules. You basically just walk up to the rangemaster and he writes your name on a slip of paper with the time you checked in. It’s $ 10 hr. He calls the range«cold» every 30 – 40 minutes so new arrivals can get situated and everyone can change targets if they want. When you are done, the rangemaster tallies your time, writes that on the ticket and you go to the front shack and pay. The biggest problem is that it is just a muddy muddy mess. If you don’t have a big truck then you might not make it into the parking lot. The drive is full of lakes that are practically impassable with a compact car. Don’t wear shoes that you care about. The pistol range has some old carpet laid over the mud so it’s not too bad but when you go out to hang your targets it’s like a mini swamp — grassy but very wet. I don’t think it had been especially rainy in the days preceding my visit. It’s just too bad that they can’t invest in some new gravel for the drive and parking lot and just spruce up a little. I’ll go back but I’ll wait for for a string of super dry days before I do.

This is down to earth place with a lay back attitude. I enjoy shooting skeet and 5 stand. The prices are reasonable. Best time to go there is middle of the afternoon during the week or on Saturdays. Would recommend it!

What a mess. This would be a decent facility if it weren’t for the management and staff and their complete neglect of both the facilities and the customers. They have, theoretically, sporting-clays, trap, skeet, 5-stand, and a pistol and rifle range. I’ve shot sporting clays, approx a year ago, and skeet recently. The sporting clays course itself was nice, but probably 20% of the launchers didn’t work. Shooting skeet, the ‘high house’ wasn’t working. It obviously hasn’t been working for a while. Instead they had a stand alone thrower sitting on the ground. Next to the house. If you’re not into skeet, just realize that this is completely unsatisfactory and kind of ruins the game, like paying to play basketball with one of the hoops bolted to a coffee table at knee height. The wooden stairs to the high house were completely collapsed. The ‘trap’ range appeared to also be a stand alone thrower just tossed on the grass by the second from left station. I’m not a trap shooter so I won’t comment on that one. I didn’t use the pistol or rifle ranges, but be aware that they do not permit full-metal jacket rifle ammunition for some reason. If in doubt, I’d call ahead. Which brings me to the biggest downer: the people. No one is going to welcome you to the place, no one is going to tell you what’s available or how much it costs, and if they come over to talk to you, it will probably be to yell at you. The ‘office’ is a shack that is just a wreck inside. There is junk everywhere, dozens of 12 volt batteries just laying around. No signage for prices or hours or anything, anywhere. The bathroom made me gag, and I’m a guy. I should have just pissed in the woods. All in all I was embarrassed to have brought two friends here. If you’re looking for skeet and trap, try the South Louisiana Gun Club, just south of the Huey P. Long bridge in Kenner. For sporting clays and 5-stand, try High Point Shooting Grounds in Belle Chasse. And for outdoor rifle and pistol ranges, try Honey Island Shooting Range just north of Slidell. As I said, what a sad mess.
