Great cup of coffee, probably the best you can get in Covington. I came into Cincinnati for a conference down the street and wandered my way over to this great little coffee shop. Ask for Pete, he’ll take care of you.

Had a Heath bar latte, priced about average for any espresso drink. Place wasn’t crowded, loved the atmosphere, loved my drink. Will be returning next time I’m in the area.

The hours are horrible and the employees are nice. However, I really don’t want to give my business to someone who can’t be bothered to be open when I’m looking for coffee.

I thought I was a coffee person, but after coming here I am just a coffee newbie. I’m used to drinking Starbucks coffee and can’t imagine having better until coming to the Groove. Bartista is an understatement for the owner. His pallette for coffee is amazing, he can find the best coffee for you at anytime of the day. If you enjoy coffee as much as I do, you will appreciate the best coffee in Kentucky here. This is the only place I have given five stars. This man has perfected his genre. A++

Living up the street, I’ve gotten in the habit of walking here anytime I don’t feel like making coffee myself. Whether you want plain drip coffee or a specialty drink, everything is good. Service is always fantastic and the owner is normally there to talk to customers and make recommendations. Definitely worth trying or making your regular coffee shop.

Coffee is great and not a big chain. But how am I supposed to get coffee in the morning if it doesn’t open until 9 am?

This is what a coffee house should be. I don’t know why this place is not packed all the time. The organic coffee is great and there is a nice selection of organic teas as well. There is always great music playing in the background which is not too loud to distract you but just loud enough to hear. I am amazed that people still go to Charbuck’s/Starburned when this place is infinitely better.

I was traveling through and stopped by to do some work. It was very quiet and homey. I think there are apartments above the coffee shop where employees live. The staff was friendly. The chai latte was the only reason they didn’t get a higher rating. Was a bit bland(and that says a lot for chai!). Also, some guy’s little dog kept barking really loudly and that was distracting and annoying. I realize you cannot always control your pet, but maybe don’t bring it inside a coffee shop.

Groove makes a good cup of coffee. The drinks are well made by a true barista. Ingredients are carefully sourced and seem to meet high standards. The offerings are mostly of blends, but I will look forward to single source offerings in the future. Drinks are reasonably priced. The location is relaxed with plenty of sitting and working space. The area upstairs has a nice long table that would work well for group work. The art is unique; no other coffee shop carries art that is so different, yet seems to completely fit in its’ space. If you are lucky you may have a chance to speak with the artist himself as it pretty interesting to hear the stories behind some of the art. This is definitely a place to try in the cincy area.

Stopped in Sunday morning for a cup of joe. Fresh brewed and local. Win win.

I’ll make this short and sweet. Stopped in for the first time today, and was very pleased. The young woman working was very friendly, and my english toffee frap was high in caffeine and flavor. Finally, someplace local to give my money to. So tired of giving it to Starbucks and Saxby’s!

We stumbled upon the Groove Coffee House on a Saturday afternoon walk in Covington. I wanted to see if Main Strasse had any cute little place worth discovering. Turns out it did! We walked in the Groove Coffee House around 4pm and it was empty. What a shame, I thought. But on the other hand, it made that my husband and I could really enjoy our time here. We both got a small hot chocolate and shared a heart cookie. While my husband was paying I got a chance to look at some of the cute soap and books you could buy. There was also a stand with extra sugar, cocoa etc., it made me think a bit of Starbucks but then in a non-chain way. We sat down next to the window and I saw a few people passing by who seemed to be curious about this coffee house but no one else stepped in during our time here. I loved the fact that there were games to play and photos and pictures on the wall that you could buy, although I didn’t really see anything I liked that much that I would want to buy it. This place just really made me feel at ease, with its homey feel, the relaxing music, the different pieces of furniture. I loved the fact that the barista was friendly but didn’t come to bother us once we were seated. He did a great job with the hot chocolates too, drawing a perfect chocolate picture in the cream :) I really loved this place on my first visit and will be sure to come back to show other people this hidden gem on Main Strasse! What a great place to have next to all the pubs.

I love coming to Groove. The place has a great vibe, and no matter when I show up there’s a place to chill for awhile and a friendly barista. They make a mean chai latte, which I love to order. I don’t drink coffee, and Groove has plenty of options for me to choose from. I like to introduce my friends to Groove when we meet up to chat. So far, they’ve all been impressed! Definitely a great little shop to frequent. :) Keep rocking it, Groove!

Can’t we all agree that Starbucks sucks and should burn to the ground? If you don’t feel that way, it’s probably because you haven’t been to a decent coffee house before. They are usually locally owned, they buy organic milk, they use fair trade coffee — you know, all the stuff Starbucks doesn’t do. Groove Coffee House is cool. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is nice, and the wifi is free. So, you can see, it’s nothing like Starbucks. Get your morning or afternoon coffee here. Listen to some spoken word, work on your paper or your novel, do some yoga. Groove is here for you.

Main Street Covington is not really known for it’s coffee scene … in fact, I wouldn’t say it has a coffee scene at all. I know there are bars and late-night eateries, but a coffee shop on that street? I just can’t think of one(if I am wrong, I do apologize.) Still, for those looking for a caffeine boost, place to work or study or just hang out, I present to you: the new Groove Coffee House. This two story coffee joint is really wonderful. Peaceful atmosphere, room to sit with comfortable chairs, a private area upstairs for studying or holding meetings. Nice. The owner is a great guy, very laid back and relaxed, who clearly loves what he does(and is putting a lot of himself into the shop.) He let us hold a book club meeting at this spot and even stayed open late for us when we were still talking. Now that was a win! They have a lot of well made and original drinks, but most of them are written up on the chalkboard behind the counter without explanation. I always feel a little awkward when I have to go: «What’s that? Uh huh? And that one? And that one? Ok, I guess I’ll take it,» when there might have been a better option. Even something like a piece of paper on the counter explaining each drink might help. No parking lot(at least, directly near the shop, there is a public one a few blocks down) but I found street parking very easily. It was a Monday night though and on the weekends, I know the street is insane. Still, a great new addition to Covington. Go on, get a cup of coffee here, you’ve earned it.

Like Howard, I was fortunate to come to this place for the first time and I too will be back. The place was not very busy on this Monday evening so it was perfect for relaxing and shaking the dust off from the first workday of the week. I ordered some funky flavored fruit juice beverage(see pic) and one of the«Groovy» beverages on the right side of the chalkboard menu. I believe it was the Peanut Butter and Jelly with Raspberry flavoring. Kinda awesome if ya ask me. The man behind the counter did have the right kind of «chill» attitude I expect from a barista. I am sure the building has some great history as it appears to have only been slightly modernized. I love the creaky floors and grand staircase that leads you up to a semi-private area with a nice table for conversations or board game playing. PLEASE stop by and support these kinds of businesses. Give the independents a helping hand against the onslaught of the chains. Thanks!

Northern Kentucky doesn’t have a whole lot going for it in terms of its coffee house scene. In fact, outside of maybe Sitwells and Coffee Emporium, Cincinnati in general doesn’t have much going on in that way, not since we lost The Buzz all those years ago. Which is why it’s such a relief to have a place like Groove: laid back, conveniently located for Kentuckians, with a creative menu and plenty of comfy room, including a front porch and patio. Tucked neatly into Mainstrasse next to Strasse Haus(perhaps too neatly – it can be easy to miss), Groove is that coffee place you wish we had, only to find that we’ve had it for a few months now and no one bothered to say so. It has the usual – indie art on display, a corkboard of events, a cozy upstairs conference room, a lot of hardwood décor, and, not insignificantly, friendly, down to earth staff. The drinks are a treat; my first taste of the place was a tiramisu latte. They keep all their most interesting stuff on a chalkboard outside. Not the usual pumpkin-spice-and-vanilla fare, although there are those if you’re the unadventurous type. Honestly, the biggest problem with Groove is that not enough people know about it. I seek out places like this because I hope to meet the sort of crowd less likely to be found in bars, and this could totally be that place if we only got the word out about it. So do your part, java lovers. Get these guys some business.

I finally got around to checking out Groove after all my lamenting about the lack of a coffee shop in the neighborhood where I work. Groove is located right at about the end of the Mainstrasse strip of restaurants and bars, and the entrance is tucked around the side of the building. They’ve kept it very house-like inside, so it’s cozy. The woman who took my order, etc was very kind and friendly. I love local coffee shops and Groove seems to have the staples– pastries, snacks, coffee, etc, as well as some areas to read or hang out. I had the ice coffee which wasn’t anything that knocked my socks off but it was good. Will have to update on the coffee next time I stop by. Either way, glad to have a coffee shop in the neighborhood again.

YOUALL. There is a new coffee shop in town and it needs(and deserves!) our help! Groove Coffee House popped up on my morning commute down Mainstrasse a few weeks ago, causing an immediate head swivel and potential road hazard. I’ve been searching for a good en-route coffee stop essentially since I moved to NoKy, and since Reality Tuesday is always at least a 15-minute wait served up with a side of «You’re Not a Regular Here» snobbery and the Dixie Kroger Starbucks is only good for the barista banter, seeing a new coffee oasis pop up on my radar was a decidedly happy occasion. It’s kind of tucked away, back from the road a little bit, and essentially in a house, so it’s not super-noticeable at first. They finally got a sign, but it’s totally blocked by Fatty Patty’s 3D Puppy Monstrosity if you’re headed across the CWB bridge, so your best bet is to look for the chalkboard on the sidewalk just past Patty’s on the right. Charming, cozy, approachable – and regrettably empty. While no one wants to wait 15 minutes for their coffee, especially when they’re already late to work(who, me?), it’s also extremely depressing to find a new establishment with a good selection, fair prices, and a quality roasted blend so light on traffic. Groove has a great selection of espresso and hot chocolate beverages, including some I’d never heard of, named for past Presidents, and they’re always happy to explain or answer any questions. Even though I just get a boring soy latte, it’s always made efficiently and to smooth perfection. So at least check it out and give it a try, y’all, to help get this new business off the ground and running, and support your local NoKy coffee scene in the process!
