I’ve gone to LDI for over 8 years for a multitude of skin issues. The girls at the front are great and many of them have been there the entire time I’ve been going to LDI. I naturally have problematic skin so its been a huge weight off my shoulders to find somewhere that actually works.

I went to the LA location. Have never had laser or anything done before at almost 60 years of age. Dr. Rispler was kind, has a great smile and answered all of my questions. Checked in often during the procedure. Val and Gina, the Nurses, were great and experienced.
They explained everything really well. The sales guy on the first appt. was not pushy at all.
Will report back later re: results on how my skin and brown spots are doing… but so far, am really happy with these folks.

The West Covina the service and facility is horrible. The interior offices are like a free clinic. They were dirty. Even the elevator was ridiculous. They set you up with a male sales person per se. He was rude and did not want to spend any time answering questions. All he wanted to do was talk about the money part. I asked him what is the laser of the surgery he is recommending. He could not answer the question. All he said is we have different things. Things? Since I was asking too many questions about the basics, he said the girl at the front desk can answer all of them. When I exited, I asked the Front desk employee. She was so surprised that he expected her to know all of the information about the lasers. I told her how rude the sales guy was. Her response was then why would you want us to do your laser if you did not like him? Can you believe that? All of them are incredibly rude.

Avoid this place like the plague! All they care about is making a sale. My acne did not improve at all and they robbed me out of my hard earned money ($ 4,000 for 2 treatments). Dr Rispler was rude and left me hanging when I went to go shake his hand. He then went straight to the numbers without listening or hearing my concerns. I would never attend this place ever again!

I read so many bad comments but I had a great experience there. The receptionists were so nice and personable, the nurses were friendly and had great bedside manner. The sales guy was very nice and understood my needs and was not pushy at all. Most of all, I think I understand how a lay person would misinterpret Dr. Rispler but he is very intelligent and really knows what he is talking about and I did a lot of research on him before going in. He has contributed so much to the laser world and publishings, which is why I chose to go even though I read some negative comments. Google him I found a wealth of information he has contributed. My results were fantastic and I have referred many to him in the last few weeks after seeing results. For wrinkles and skin tightening, they are the best. I have had subpar work done elsewhere so I have something to compare to. Highly recommended!

I came to LDI in West Covina in June 12, 2015 with severe adult acne, brown spots and acne scars. The transformation of my skin is unbelievable after 5 treatments. Being a fair skin African American numerous dermatologist would not recommend any type of laser. I am very thankful for Dr. Rispler’s expertise with multiple laser treatments and African American skin. The price is minimal in comparison to the amount of money that I spent in the past on creams, lotions and useless other microdermabrasions, peels, etc.
The only regret that I have is not take a before picture without makeup to post for everyone to see the best results ever,
I can now go out of the house with no makeup and get compliments on my skin from family, friends and co-​workers. Thank you Dr. Rispler and your team of awesome nurses.

A friend and I went to the Laser & Dermatology Institute of California on 08÷24÷15. They are INCREDIBLY rude! We both wanted to consult with issues on our neck. We have different issues, yet the price quoted is $ 7,500 each! Gloves were never put on and we were never examined. I was not even given an estimate in writing. Their attitude is «You need us more than we need you.» I don’t think so!!! Many years ago, when I was in college economics class I learned the following: The PAYING Customer is the King or Queen. I only got very bad vibes from this place. Stay away.

I came in to Dr. Rispler’s office for my adult acne that I suffer from, The staff was very friendly made me feel welcome as well as Dr. Rispler. I have been looking for a long time for a dermatologist that I can trust to help me. I have tried every product possible and nothing seem to work, I was ready to give up and just face that this acne is not going away. Since starting my treatments With LDI I have seen major improvement in my skin. I am no longer breaking out and my acne scars are less visible. Not only am I happy with the outcome of my treatments but I have gain the confidence to walk around without makeup and not feel embarrassed. I am one happy acne free patient.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!! Was a pt. a long time ago (before there was Unilocal) and experienced every negative comments people have said about the people working there. I can’t believe that they are still operating and have not change their ways of dealing with their patients. Dr. Rispler has NO personality. He does not acknowledge you whatsoever. He comes in, say a few words and then leave. The guy in the white lab coat/​suit, totally pushy. The treatments were painful. They did not even offered topical during all my procedures. My advice, STAY AWAY from this place and do your research (I didn’t. I was desperate and the «sales guy in a white lab coat» saw that in me). I’m glad I found a nice dermatologist and staff that are very caring and not pushy.

Took my teenage son here, for Acne scars, its like buying a used car!, the Guy in the lab coat walks in (yes we all thought it was the doctor) quoted us a price of 6, thousand dollars!!! For acne scares had the «Hard Pitch» in front of my kid no less!
It such a scam the doctor was rude, and GOD forbid you need any more of «there products» you cant get ANYTHING without that 150. dollar 5 min. doctor appt., and another pitch for MORE treatments!!!

Heed the reviews on this Rispler quack. He’s as bad as everyone says. I came here well over 10 years ago, and it looks as though he is still scamming people.
I had acne at the time, and they didn’t do anything for me other than sell me on all of their awful, proprietary products. The one time it did clear up, it was only momentary and at the cost of excessively drying out my skin. They used this as an opportunity to sell me on laser treatment to treat the acne scars. They kept pushing and pushing laser treatment even though I expressed opposition because I felt it was too soon. A short while later, sure enough, the acne came back. Had I paid the thousands for the laser treatment, it would have been in vain, but they just cared about making more money. In time the scars faded, anyway, as my acne was never that bad to begin with.
This Rispler guy is as rude as everyone says he is, and he and this place need to be shut down.

I feel really bad for leaving a negative review but I want to make sure I advise people so they can save their money and false hope. So I went here a few years back when I was 18 trying to help with my acne and scarring. I went in with my mom and spoke to the fancy guy with the suite and they just feed of every insecurity you have dealing with acne. They had me take off my makeup and hold and mirror and asked what would you change about yourself. They are smart they make you look at yourself and remind you how much you want to change and they make sure you remember how much you hate looking in the mirror. Anyone with acne know looking and having no makeup is torture and just reminds you. So I cried and my poor mom (single mom) cried to and asked how can you help her it hurts me to see her always so insecure and hurting over this.
So they offer packages and blah blah with treatments that would help. My acne wasn’t horrible and my scarring either but it feels like it is to me u know. So they said 8 to 12 treatments should do it and we can offer this. Prices were wow and my mom is a single mom so we only got 4 treatments. Sooo I got the four and all his rx face washing pads and creams. Lets me just say noo difference I mean I didn’t except perfection but I thought I would see a lil change and nope nothing.
My advise please before going here research your options and know they feed off the insecurities you have so don’t let him. I found a great doctor and office. Full spectrum dermatology in Fullerton. Amazing doctor and staff;).

I have got four treatments so far and everything is going good. A couple more treatments and I should be able to get rid of this mistake on my arm lol. Regardless of whqt all the other reviews say this was the right place for me.

Don’t go to this place!!! People that answers the phone is rude and only asking for money. All they want is your money!!!

Wow, for real? Usually if there is something redeeming about a place, I am the one to find it. (This is my first one star review). But my experience here left me with a feeling of disbelief at how this place is still running.
I drove from Walnut (20 minutes away) to go for a consultation. I was excited to finally get my skin tags removed. I had been quoted $ 4 – 500 at another institute in Orange, CA but could not go then because I didn’t have time as I was switching jobs and moving out of the OC. I had also been saving up for laser hair removal and scar treatment.
I took off an hour from work to drive here because my mom made me an appointment which was really nice of her.
When I got there, there was a lady at the front desk who was very kind and another lady who took me to the room who was also nice. The one star is for them.
After the lady left she said someone would be in to see me. A tall Caucasian man in a suit walks in with slicked back hair. He asked me what I wanted and I told him I was interested in removing my skin tags and improving the texture of my skin overall.
Within 1 minute of sitting down, before even explaining anything to me in detail other than my skin tags «have roots» and that would be very difficult to get rid of, he says it will cost me between $ 9,000 (for surface removal) to 12,500 (for a proper job) and take me 6 – 8 treatments to get the tags removed?!
First off who quotes prices things right off the bat?! Secondly seriously, $ 12,000?
I told him that other places had quoted me $ 4 – 500 and that his price seemed really high.
Quote for quote he replied, «well maybe you are better off going there then.» I politely said thank you and walked out while saying that was the strangest appointment I’ve ever been to. I really wanted to say something nastier but it was two days after Christmas.
Came back home and saw these reviews on Unilocal — looks pretty spot on. I also taught my mom how to look for reviews because literally nothing good came from this visit except a wasted hour and a half.
So frustrating and unpleasant.

Well I too have been receiving private messages since late Feb 2013 from the good «Doctor». The initial one was similar to the message to Eunice K and the last one stated that I signed an agreement telling me that there were no guarantees going into the treatments. Yes I did sign a bunch of paperwork and shame on me for not reading the 500 lines of small print disclaimer.
Most people don’t read that stuff and trust the salesperson. He (salesman) should not have lied to me telling me everything would be clear after all the treatments were done. He (salesman) also should not have told me that everything was covered with the price that I paid. That’s fraud in my book.
Mr. Rispler also states that there are tons of great reviews in the «Filtered» section? Most of those are negative as well and the few good ones including Amber B. are obviously fake. C’mon this is their only review and they all signed up at the same time? Lol, staff or friends obviously. I think the latter of Eunice K’s private message pretty much sums it up.

Do I really need to tell you what you are doing wrong? I already explained it in great detail in review and what I wrote almost literally reiterates what everyone else has written in previously. The only thing that can be done to rectify the situation is to stop running a scam practice and start anew by running a legitimate one and apologize to the hundreds of patients that you took advantage of and insulted.
