Nicest red roof we’ve EVER stayed in. Clean and comfortable and super pet friendly. The pool was clean and enjoyable. The staff was fantastic. Our dog took off out of the room(three days of travel lol he was antsy) the front desk clerk was quite know to help us catch him and passed no judgement at all. Great place to stay!

Clean room, clean bathroom, good breakfast, friendly staff, and an 8 minute drive from the Henry Doorly Zoo. Very good deal.

Being converted to a Red Roof Inn. Only one wash cloth. Didn’t find out till I was ready for the shower. UGHHH! Towels, one was a very nice new one, but the other was about what I consider a rag. No box of facial tissues only a small package that was gone in a couple of hours. Allowed people to store their stuff on the two luggage dollies sitting in the lobby so I had to make multiple trips back and forth to move our luggage. Definitely a one star place. Won’t return here.

Formerly the Settle Inn, this hotel is right by the interstate and looks like a cross between a lighthouse and a castle on the outside. The lobby is dark, with a seating area and fireplace that looks somewhere between«vintage» and«dated» and you can tell by the smell where the smoking rooms are… or were? It’s an old smoke smell, like you find at estate sales. No bargains to be found here, though. AAA rate was $ 89 including tax, which I felt was high for the quality and condition of the room. We stayed in a(non-smoking, non-smelly) room where furniture was falling apart, the window had some challenges opening, the sink wouldn’t drain, and the pillows were small and very lumpy. Fortunately, the staff was able to replace the broken furniture and had a workaround for the sink. I didn’t ask for replacement pillows. What brought this one and a a half star experience up to three stars are the pool/hot tub, which was open late and attracted a lot of fun guests(your results may vary), the fact that the staff helped as much as they were able with the repair issues in the room, and the breakfast, which was ample and tasty and available until 10AM. We had bacon and eggs, fruit, and bagels with cream cheese. It turns out this is a pet friendly hotel as well– we met many well behaved dogs and cats during our stay. This could be a good or a bad thing for other travelers.
