Do you know about Jo’s Pub? No really… do you know? If you want a night you’ll be talking about with your friends for a long time, you should probably head in Jo’s direction. I have so much to say about this place that I’m not sure where to start. Maybe with the fact that it’s basically in the tiny basement of an old building? Or how about the awesomely bad karaōke? Or the shuffleboard table? Maybe I should start with the random Cottleville residents who station themselves at the bar from open to close… I worked at the Cottleville Wine Seller during my last two years of college, and Jo’s is right across the street, so it was always our after work hangout. We could walk in there in our dirty clothes and have a drink in our hands faster than we could ask for it! If you’re wearing a collared shirt in this place, you’re probably too dressed up. Just a tip. If you ask the bartender, they’ll throw a frozen pizza in the oven for you which definitely comes in handy after a few drinks. I think the pizzas are around $ 6 or something crazy, and they’re really delicious and sliced up in small so everyone can snag a piece. My advice is to get a table next to the shuffleboard table so you can play your friends in a few rounds. You might run into my friend Leif & I who are the current reigning Cottleville shuffleboard campions. Is it bad that I’m actually really proud of that? Jo’s is close to my heart and you should definitely check it out when you want a really(see: REALLY) low-key evening. Bring some dollars for the jukebox.
