Tom Ford Fragrance Counter At Nordstrom

Sometimes I wish I was never introduced to premium fragrances like the ones created by Tom Ford, because now, I am never satisfied with the typical selection found at the run-​of-​the-​mill men’s fragrance counter…
Or who am I kidding?
I was first introduced to the collection some time ago in Vegas, and decided to check out the Tom Ford counter here at Nordstrom. I quickly realized that Tom Ford’s Private Blend collection of cologne is one of the finest set of frangrances a man can buy, from the quality of the ingredients, to the freshness and longevity of the scent, and right down to design of the bottle. My favorite cologne from the collection is Oud Wood, which isn’t as «heavy» as the traditional Oud fragrances from the Middle East. Tobacco Vanille is also another one of my favorites from this collection.
It’s practically a guarantee that when I spray some on, I get countless compliments and inquiries about what cologne I’m wearing, whether they’re from my professors, the baristas at Starbucks, random people I bump into, and even the local librarian (Yes, I sprayed this on a few times before coming to the library, as it comforts me with the illusion that I’m going somewhere nice after studying =/​).
The employees at the Counter are specialists in this collection, and know everything about each scent, and how to layer the fragrances. All the scents come in the small 175ml size (for roughly $ 175) while the top-​sellers (like Oud) also come in the larger size that is roughly $ 280. The largest bottle (which is about as big as a jug), is somewhere around the $ 500-​$ 600 range. And for the ladies, Tom Ford also has a Private Blend line for you that they have laid out on the counter.
And yes, it’s all worth it.

I am a fine fragrance fanatic. I said it. And it feels great to get that off my chest. And with that declaration (admission?) I would like to pay tribute to the best fragrance department I have ever visited.
TOM FORD FRAGRANCE.
Tom Ford and his PRIVATE BLEND are what fragrance lovers such as myself have been waiting for. A place to experience some of the most unusual scents – and marvelous packaging known to man.
Ford has captured so many atmospheres within his apothecary bottle lined universe that I am impressed each and every time I visit this display.
James and Sandra are the official reps for this department – and really know their stuff. And for me to say that – trust me – it must be true. You will experience the utmost professionalism and service here – so skip the shark-​like approach thrown out at so many of Nordstrom’s Beauty Counters and see what true luxury is all about.
But I am warning you – not for the feint of heart… if you like a fragrance here and don’t like big numbers – sorry – avoid at all costs. You will go into a crack addict-​like withdrawl and suffer from «fragrance envy»; wanting so desperately to return to the world you tapped into via your nose for a few split seconds of pure ecstasy.
