The food is always great they never take long and the lunch special is of great value. Great if you dont have that long of a lunch

For $ 4 you can get the chicken plate with brown rice and steamed veggies. The spicey creamy sauce on the side goes well with the plate
The lady at the counter was friendly and helpful.
She brought our food to our table.

Hitting this place up after going to the gym was always nice. They dish out some pretty healthy choices to choose from. Love the lunch specials they would have. Definitely did not tickle the wallet leaving this place. Not gonna lie I was a little worried when this place first opened up because they are next to a innout but they have definitely held their ground. Hibachi chicken and steak are my faves.

Teriyaki chicken special is a lot of food for only $ 3.69 and upgrade to brown rice is free. Soda from the fountain is only $ 1.55. I dig good value. Chicken is in chunks but tender, sauce is tasty — thick, sweet and slightly rich. I enjoyed the steamed veggies with the dressing. Only downer was tables very sticky and unwashed. But I like the cozy lil dining room. Girl at the counter is friendly and helpful. I’ll come back.

I ordered the salmon bento box, substituted veggie rolls for the California roll with a side of steamed vegetables. Glad I added the steamed veggies because they were the best part of the meal. The salmon was dry and had a metallic fishy taste. The veggie rolls consisted of bad avocado and iceberg lettuce #wtf. The salad was not as pictured and was also iceberg lettuce with a slice of tomato. Oh, I should add a nod for the dressing though. It was one of those carrot ginger dressings, that was good. So if you’re feelin’ steamed veggies with some carrot ginger dressing this is your place. And if you don’t like super salty, dry, packaged salad and expired avocado, I suggest you sail to another bento box shore!

Really bummed out. Their food is alright and not pricy at all. I’m stuck at home with a sick child so I thought I can order food for us to get it delivered because it says on their website that they deliver but they said no to hey can’t deliver. I wanted to order two meals and a couple sides for my son and I but the woman that answered the phone said no they can not deliver today.

Wonderful place! I feel bad for the peeps that had a bad experience here, but I’m never disappointed when I come. Sometimes the food takes a bit but other times it’s quick. I usually come around lunch & am always greeted by a very nice lady who looks like the owner who is always generous when I’m craving extra sauces! Plus everyone I’ve seen working here always has a smile. You can’t go wrong with the food not only for how cheap but also on how delicious it is. Not much of a fish person but this is the place when I feel like salmon, it’s tastes great & I know they are good on keeping everything clean & separated cus my other foods Never have any fishy taste to them. If your looking for great chicken teriyaki come here, cheap & pretty generous on how much your paying!

Okay, after seeing this on Unilocal,I was so excited to get some take out. I ordered two separate orders, gave some adequate time before leaving to pick them up, and headed over.
Upon walking in, no one was at the counter. There wasn’t a bell to ring, or any way of even knowing if someone was in the back. My order was just on the counter. I waited patiently for a worker to greet me. A few minutes went by, and another couple walked in. We all waited. Then, a flustered female worker looking quite annoyed finally came to the counter. She nudged my bag toward me, and being trusting like I am, I just took the order without checking it.
I don’t know how someone could mix up two simple orders, but they did. I got one order that was entirely of sides – just fried rice and mixed veggies. I guess it was my fault for not checking at the restaurant, but if the lady at the counter had had less of an attitude, I would’ve been fine with the mix up. She seemed like she didn’t want to work there AT ALL. I assume she was the one who made my order, since it seemed she was cooking in the back on top of running the front counter.
Lesson learned! I always check my orders now.

This place could easily be overlooked where it is, but if you take the time to check it out, you won’t be disappointed! I could eat here multiple times a week, I love it that much. It’s just so good. Reasonably priced, great location, quick, and everything is so fresh. Oh, and that white sauce? What is in that? It just takes everything to another level! The vegetables are probably my other reason for frequenting: they throw zucchini in the standard mix of cabbage, carrots and broccoli.

Just moved to the area and went to Tokio Grill for takeouts. The young woman at the counter was very friendly. The chicken and shrimp plate was delicious and the food came out quickly. I will be back soon to try more items on the menu.

I use to enjoy going to Tokio Grill for lunch but now I don’t understand what happened to this place. When they first opened the dishes for lunch were well served with plenty of meat whether it was chicken or steak. Now it’s more vegetables than meat. Today my meal was more mushrooms and vegetables than steak! They sure charge pricy for the meal I’m getting. Not happy! Now I know why my co workers are avoiding this place.

Honestly, this place truly SUCKED… Their noodles really made me gag. Their California rolls were average, and their teriyaki chicken was pretty good; not bad.
We ate inside and WOW! Our shoes were sticking EVERYWHERE across the floor. I dont know why the floor was so sticky. Literally every step was trying to take off our shoe as we walkd across the floor.
I don’t think I will ever eat here again persé, but I am certainly not impressed.

This place is fantastic if you want a quick and delicious lunch that is healthier than the average fast food joint. The prices are very reasonable and their Chicken Lunch Special is only $ 3.99 and you can’t beat that price for the food you’re getting. Surprisingly, they don’t charge extra for brown rice either which is awesome. I work right across the street so I walk over here for lunch everyday and they’ve always been nice to me and bring my food straight to my table. I love this place and plan to come here everyday for lunch!

This place is AMAZING! If i dont feel like going to Benihanas or a teppanyaki restaurant, i come here. Their food is very good and I’ve never had to complain. I love their miso soup and they never over or undercook my food. I usually order their salmon, steak, and shrimp which is all amazing. I also really love their creamy sauce they give you with the hott sauce, it is so addicting. It comes with vegetables and fried rice and its always the perfect portion. I never feel bloated or nasty full after i finish eating here. Its not the best looking restaurant and its very small but their food makes up for it! Id definitely recommend if your in the area or live down the street!

This place intrigued me, not for the super cheap price advertised, but the location and lighted sign outside. Sadly the food was a huge disappointment. The Salt and Pepper Chicken side dish is just cold, hard rehash of the chicken used for everything else just minus the teriyaki sauce. Skip that item for sure. I ordered a shrimp plate, regular size, figuring you can cheap out on shrimp. Well they were fresh but the rice was old with hard bits inside. The vegies seemed overcooked and tasteless. The special sauce is a hoax — it’s Japanese Kewpie-​brand mayonaise. Drowning everything in teriyaki sauce is a common way to mask poor food.
I might have caught them at a bad time, around 6:00 p.m.
Otherwise stay away unless you crave the cheap lunch menu.

This spot is so yummy and delicious I can’t get enough of it. I work down the street and find myself coming 2 – 3 times a week! The woman working here is so sweet she told me about this special they have for about 4 $ full plate of rice, teriyaki chicken and steamed veggies, the rice is sooooo good, it’s plain white rice but man.

So, I’ve been to this place a few times already. Main reason since it’s so close, and I cant eat In-​n-​out that often. Figured I’d finally write a review.
I’ve tried few of their plates, and after its all the same. Just different choice of meat. They do tend to load you if you get chicken, but when it comes to steak you might get less. Their lunch special sounds attractive with their price. But that’s just chicken. If you try to add another meat, that’s extra 4 – 5 bucks. Lol such slick sneaky pricing. And that leads me to the actual prices. Difference between small plate and regular/​large is like 1 dollar. Really? 10 dollars for a small plate.
Conclusion? Retiring this place until they get serious with their prices. Panda Express will do just fine until then. Ends up being cheaper anyways.

They have a cheap lunch special but I opted for the chicken and beef combination with a drink I believe it was around $ 10. I would have rather gone to flame broiler for chicken teriyaki… The chicken didn’t have much flavor and the steak was okay even though it was a smaller portion for steak. Overall the food was OK. Nothing outstanding. What stood out to me was the cleanliness of the place but I think that’s just because the place is always empty. The cashier was really friendly however.

Great fast casual dining!
Chicken and steak plates with vegetables and fried rice are excellent. Quality is basically hibachi grill style, not your run of the mill «Flame Broiler» chicken bowl status.
Service is quick and friendly and prices are reasonable. My go to place for a quick lunch!

I had heard such good things about this place and was wicked excited to try it, but unfortunately it fell flat on it’s face.
The service was really good and the place is comfortable but sadly the food was not good at all. I want to try it again but its not worth what we paid the first time for a «chance»

Had to stop by and eat here when we were waiting for our turn in DMV Costa Mesa CA. It is only 5 minutes walk distance .
Basically chose this place by checking out the pictures on Unilocal,everything looked fresh and delicious .
Nice cozy, clean place. Ordering was easy, the display is easy to understand but honestly the quality of the food disappointed me .
I ordered chicken-​beef-​shrimp combo and it was overly salty, maybe too much MSG since I got a headache after couple of bites .
Unfortunately I had to leave the half of the plate because simply I couldn’t eat-​accept that much salt in my food .
Definitely not my type of the food place I just had no chance I wanted to eat something healthy but got the vice verse.

Opened a couple months ago. Mostly seems like a majority take out kind of place. However, there are tables for dining in.
The portions are pretty generous, and the food is always ready under 10 minutes from order to pick up. Satisfies my hibachi cravings at a fraction of the price! Love this place, will return

expensive food for a not so good dishes. I got a togo food from tokio grill today, i bought bento and miso soup.
Miso soup i 1 star — Too salty, no texture. i had to force myself eating it basically cuz im hungry
Salmon bento– Salmon was too hard on the edges, you can tell it’s been too cooked on the grill, it’s also very DRY!
California roll is a Ok.
In conclusion… i wouldn’t go back here. 12.00 for my food and it’s not worth it.

Yum! Might be dangerous having this place so close to my house! Got the swai plate and was seasoned and cooked perfectly. I enjoyed the miso soup and the seaweed salad too. Seems like there are lots of healthy options and I really love that they offer small sizes. Best thing is the prices are excellent. Only thing that could make this place better is if they served booze and dessert!

I wasn’t expecting this place to be that good but it definitely surprised me. I came here to eat dinner with my boyfriend while he was on break. We got the Chicken Teriyaki Plate.
The food here is definitely oily like every other fast food and you feel sorta gross after eating it because of that but what to expect? It’s a fast food joint. Despite that, I really enjoyed the fried rice here. The taste and texture was not like most Asian fast food places.

I tried the teriyaki chicken special which is a great deal for the price, and it was good! Lots of space, seating, and tvs. Worker at front was nice and friendly. I would visit again if I was craving the teriyaki chicken special.

I am a fan what can I say. The special teriyaki chicken bowl is a great bargain. If your on a budget and don’t want crappy Flame broiler come here. Food is fresh and the portions are pretty big. Fills up a big boy like myself with some still left over.
The restaurant is set up like a flame broiler. The menu is very visual so you could see exactly what it looks like. It’s a very casual lunch spot but dinner to go is not a bad idea either. If you are in the mood for some teriyaki for the value it’s one of my new sports in Costa Mesa

Order #5 Grilled Salmon Bento box… salmon was thin but its flavorful and grilled to perfection… one of the thing I like best is skin is off… it has a lemon pepper flavor. Came with 4 piece of sushi… your typical avocado roll… a good portion of salad… and miso soup. Miso soup is one of the best I tasted. Good flavor and actually have a few tofu n stuff in it… for the salad, I like that they let you pour your own dressing on it. $ 6.75
Order #1 Salt n Pepper Chicken combo… came with flavorful and cook correctly chicken bites… love the veggies that came with it… cook and crispy and has the beautiful color still… got the fried rice with it… very good… and a side salad… combo came with a drink too… $ 7.50
Overall, so far food is delicious… everything!!! Gotta come back and try other combos… plenty of seating and dining area clean. Has a variety of soda selection like coke, sprite, diet coke, Dr. Pepper, hi c, and sweet ice tea…
