Worst service I’ve ever had! Sassy little girl talking down to customers! Not to mention the burrito! Yuckkkk

Our go-to spot for tasty authentic Mexican food in Costa Mesa. I love walking here from our house and having lunch with my daughter who’s 16 months old. The woman who waits on us is always so sweet and helpful and makes sure my little one has everything she needs. Favorites include the breakfast burrito and the el pastor platter. Their breakfast burrito is actually my favorite in all of OC.

Great Mexican food. The nachos are excellent, so are the cheese and bean burritos and quesadillas. They have cold beer as well as the best salsa bar around.

Romans is the best! I think we live off of their nachos, which are amazing! Great quality meats and super flavorful al pastor(my favorite) Sunday breakfast is a must there! Great food, great prices. :)

Roman’s is my favorite authentic Mexican food joint in Costa Mesa. The menu includes a mix of white people approved Mexican food, seafood and traditional dishes. It also has my favorite Mexican dish, Chicken Mole. Service is fast and friendly.

Bean and cheese burrito, to go, is the first thing I have tried from this spot. It was made super fast, and it was huge. Pretty good, but I don’t think you can go wrong with that order. Everyone was very friendly, looked nice inside with tons of drink options. I’m sure I will be back, when I’m on that side of town.

I had two tacos, carne asada and carnitas. I also had a side of beans and skipped on the rice this time. Ok so overall, the asada taco needed much work for flavor and the carnitas taco was almost there, not really sure how I felt about the carnitas meat being deep fried then placed in a soft tortilla. With lime, it definitely helped. Adding salsa to it made it a lot better too. The red salsa was my favorite because it was the spiciest and tasty too. The thick consistency of the beans was exactly how I like them except, it need flavor as well which the cheese they place on top, somewhat, saved it, so I had to add salt to resurrect the taste. The service was good and the place was clean

Not sure why this place has 4 stars. Service was not good. Waitress was inattentive and unable to properly process our order. No language barrier issue, just simply forgot part of our order. In the end, it worked out well because we didn’t want any more food — it is exceptionally average. I would never come back because there are TONS of options in Orange County for cheaper and better Mexican food. That being said, if you just want something close to home, it is OK. Not the cheapest, not the best, just average in every way.

Went here by default because our reservation to that hideous Italian restaurant next door was not confirmed/actually reserved by whoever took our reservation. It was actually a blessing in disguise because we enjoyed our dinner here at Roman’s. First of all very friendly staff. The food is good and they have lengua which is my most favorite dish ever. We also ordered shrimp ceviche for appetizer(good taste). The other entrees were the chicken wet burrito and carne asada. Everyone enjoyed their food especially me with that lengua dish.

Recently discovered this gem! Roman’s is an amazing authentic Mexican food restaurant. Order at the counter, incredible salsa bar, wide selection of beer and other drinks. The food is so good! I mainly get a burrito, but the carne asada plate and al pastor are top notch! The menu is pretty vast and they have something for everyone. Prices are really reasonable and portions are generous. I usually end up here after a night at the gym or rock climbing and it is the perfect place to refuel!

I am ready to grab some maracas and sing about Roman’s! This is the place you have to check out. The food here is awesome. Delicious, great portions and quality. Muy sobroso! Lets dish why. Roman’s is lightly hidden near a laundromat and dry cleaners, but once you notice the sign and menu outside the door, just go ahead and step in. Inside dining area is roomy and clean. On the side of the room, is a huge refrigerated area with plenty of beer, sodas and juices in stock. On the other side, staff is cooking away and ready to take your order. The menu is full of great selections to choose from. I was so impressed with the Flautas I ordered that I enjoyed immensely with its flavor and portions! The hubbster had the Carnitas, which were amazing with just one bite! The best carnitas EVER! Perfectly seasoned, nicely salted and crispy! A++ for muy buena comida! I commend Roman himself! Gracias, this place is a total treasure :-) Perks: Great portions for the $$. Menu is super loaded with many dishes to try. Take out is available. Chips and Salsa bar, Breakfast Menu items, and an Orange Bang /Horchata drink dispenser!(Not that many around) KNOW before you GO: Location may be difficult to get to since its near a one-way section of Newport Blvd. Parking may be limited since there is another restaurant next door and a dry cleaners that can take up some space. OverALL: Super EPIC! Love. Love. Love. We have come back three times in one month! Not something we do regularly! Sooooooooo worth the Try in Costa Mesa!

This place is as amazing as the other reviews state. I came here for lunch and tried the wet burrito plate. WOW! It’s huge, and pops with flavor. I am craving one as I write this but should really try some of their other items. The interior is clean and service was friendly. During my visit here the state alcohol and tobacco agent made a surprise inspection. While it was awkward and interrupted the workflow of the employees, the agent left appearing that everything was in order! I will definitely be back.

Was out and about running errands and had a huge craving for Chilequiles. Stopped by this little place and was pleasantly surprised. I got the Chilequiles which comes in a red sauce. It comes with rice and beans and 2 eggs. The eggs I got scrambled and they were cooked perfectly.(I dislike runny eggs, gross). I wish the Chilequiles were a little crisper but overall they were good. I could never recommend a place that has bad salsa and I’m glad to say this place has great salsa. Plus they have a salsa bar so you can choose your own! Tip: pay the extra $ 4.99 for the fresh squeezed OJ. It was well worth it.

Read the reviews for the juevos rancheros… ordered them and they where terrible. Not sure where other Unilocalers have eaten… but aperantly they all live in England, which has terrible Mexican food also. The red sauce tasted like ketchup, no chorizo or anything other than egg, sauce and a tortilla. Blah! Also ordered a Asada burrito and it was equally bland, except for the tons of salt it was seasoned with. No guacamole, cheese, pico de gallo. Expected WAY better from a 4 star rated place.

The shredded beef crispy tacos with rice and beans on the side are outstanding. Really like the marinated shredded beef. Also they gave an excellent variety of salsas of every color and flavor. We will definitely be back. We have finally found the best taco place in this area!

Ok. Seriously. This is the best Mexican food I have found in orange county hands down. Total hidden gem. Absolutely perfect. Best salsa I’ve had in years. Rice and beans on point. Coolers where you can grab your own beer. Friendly staff… You have to try this place!

Great Mexican food here. I’ve been here a few times and will continue coming back. Pricy items but they are good portions. The carne asada meat here is really good. HUGE selection of juices, beer, soda, canned teas, etc. There is one cook that I like talking to and one waitress that is very nice. The other people don’t smile at all. Chicken wings are really good here too. I know it’s not Mexican food, but they are yummy!

Mom and pop shop. I do laundry at Sudz so my husband and I frequent this place while we wait for a load to finish. The server is extremely friendly and the food is good. Big portions for decent price. Good sauces. I saw a sign for freshly squeezed orange juice and it might have literally been the best OJ I ever had in my life. I was a little baffled when I found out it was $ 5 though for a glass. Nonetheless, it was soooooo good.
