Proper Hair Salon

I must say, I was a little worried about my first trip to a salon, but as soon as I walked through door at Proper Hair Salon, I instantly felt at home! I came in for a trim, and instantly fell in love with the place. The owner was very pleasant to chat with and even offered me a drink. I highly recommend anybody wanting to try out a new salon to get a cut at Proper, ask for Kiki, she was very knowledgeable about everything including the awesome haircare products they have there, (I love the Devine Curling cream they sell). Oh, one more thing, they have very affordable hand made Puruvian jewelry for sell too, I bought me an awesome turquoise and silver necklace that I wear everyday now!

My girl kiki is the bomb. I first went to her when she was at Chaz Dean, and I had to follow her all the way down here, cos’ she’s the best.
I’m the worst when it comes to maintaining my hair. Like i only go twice a year. But that’s where kiki comes in. She gives the best cut and color, for low maintenance people like myself-​meaning her cut and color grows out super gracefully. I’ve gotten compliments up until my 8 months. Go to her if you are like me. But just go to her cuz she’s all around awesome and does the best work.
She’s even a great barber and cuts my boyfriend’s hair. Couldn’t recommend her enough

I seriously love this salon!!! All around great service! My stylist KiKi is such an incredible gal with great suggestions and always listens to my concerns. She does such amazing work on my hair and I trust her every time I go in for an appointment! She is so fierce! Everyone needs to go to Proper and see KiKi!

Kiki is the one you want. Kiki spent time consulting with me before my first visit. I have thick, unruly hair. She listened to what I wanted to have done, appreciated that I brought in a picture and delivered. I love the color and cut. She was on time, professional and friendly. Proper hair salon is a hidden gem. It’s clean, everyone is friendly and the music is relaxing. Ask for Kiki and you won’t be disappointed.

Must ask for Kiki… Best hair specialist you will ever come across. My limp dry hair would not grow or respond to treatments even with regular hair maintenance. Kiki will evaluate your hair and tailor your color, style, and cut to fit your needs plus nurture your hair with all of her special secrets. Added bonus: she will accommodate your schedule and she’s super sweet! Length of time with her: rounding one year in December. I get compliments on my hair all of the time from people who have seen the difference. Color and cut specialist you don’t want to miss out on!!! Hair elevation at its finest!

Took my daughter in for a haircut today. We didn’t have an appointment but they took us right away. Kiki did such a wonderful job. My daughter Brianna said this is now her new place to get her haircut. Price is very reasonable.

Bryan the owner is always more than accommodating when i call and when i walk in the door. A drink, stiff or not depending on my day, and whisked along into my beautification zone.
I have been seeing Kristina for all my hair needs the last 3 years and i wont see anyone else. She has taken me from chestnut brown to burgundy to cherry wood and to blonde. Every transition seamless and leaving my hair more fabulous than the last time. She has pushed me to try new cuts and colors and always makes sure to customize it to my features and tones so even when im breaking into new territory i always leave the chair happy. I cant wait to get my hair done now because its and adventure rather than a chore. Ask for this lady and she is sure to please

I had a terrible haircut from a different salon coming in. They totally didn’t listened to what I wanted. Kristina «Kiki» was my stylist at Proper. I told her what I wanted and she exceeded expectations. She masterfully blended the messed spots on my head. Extremely friendly and professional. She even gave me tips on how to «Proper“ly style my hair. Highly recommend. I will be coming back for my monthly haircut.

First time at this salon, but not the first time the fabulous Kiki has done my hair! I love her energy and insight on how to freshen up my look. She is not afraid to play with color and style in order to take me to an edgier look. Always love how my hair comes out! Love the salon atmosphere and think I will quickly fall in love with the Davines products!

Went to see Damien. Super nice and my color turned out perfect! Will definitely be back again.

I spoke with Bryan today and voiced my concerns and Bryan was more than understanding and accommodating. My last review was based off of an association with an hairstylist whom I adore and at the time left to follow her dream. Unhappy or not no one is easily a true fit to any establishment; hence, I left Outback in 2003 after 3 wks… I prefer to be served rather than serve, duh!!! Princess! All in all I am beyond happy with my services and feel amazing that I can go to the owner and voice my opinions and he truly takes it in with reassurance and understanding. THAT is someone who loves what he does and lives what he loves!

Spent $$$$ at a high end salon in Beverly Hills… I walked out 5 hours later completely confused… I have very asian hair, I get it… But the way I walked out was worse than the way I walked in. A HUGE NO NO…
I needed to find someone quick! Of course I was on Unilocal and found the salon and carefully chose my hair doctor… I called asked if Monique was open– they told me no :(… Was so bummed– then I get a call 10 mins later from Monique herself– totally sweet, down to earth! She said come in!!!
From first greet to see ya later, it was probably the best time I had in a salon… I felt like I was at my homegirls house just getting my hair done :) not only that she proved to me that I don’t need to spend crazy bills to get what I want… Just gotta find the right person… Wellllll I did! And I’m so glad I met her! I’m sure she’s great for other types of hair… But specifically for all my ASIAN ppl… LOOK FOR MONIQUE! no brass, no yellow, orange, or red… She listens, she pays attention… Man… Can’t brag about her enough and I’m such a picky client! So trust me when I say she GOOOD! :) can’t wait to go back for my touch up in a few months!

This salon is beautiful. I came here because I follow my stylist Chanel. She does an AMAZING JOB! I’m 24 and I had never colored my hair and was so afraid to because I didn’t want to ruin it and wait forever to grow it out again but I had Chanel ombré my hair and it was perfect. She gave me exactly what I wanted. Super sweet girl that knows what she’s doing. I would recommend her to anyone! She is on the pricey side however, you get what you pay for! expensive price = amazing results!!!

I followed my stylist, Allison from another salon and will continue to follow her whenever she goes! She is a color genius — people make a comment on my hair color daily. She is honest about what she thinks will work for you or not and she is fun and willing to try anything you want! She has given me the perfect bob, made my straight hair funky and beach wavy, cut blunt bangs and endured the long months of growing them out with me. She is amazing! She is now cutting my 6 year olds hair — we have turned her into a little diva! If you are looking for someone who can get you the best cut and the absolute best color in Orange County, Allison at Proper Hair is your girl!

It’s always scary trying out a new stylist… But let me tell you! If you are looking for amazing talent at a reasonable price, look no further than Alaina at Proper hair! She’s so naturally gifted with color and cuts and is a true artist when it comes to hair (and fine art too! You can see her original paintings hanging in the salon!) she’s so sweet, listens to her clients, and BEST Of ALL… Gives INCREDIBLE haircuts and does exceptional color! I went in with mousy dark blonde hair and left a radiant golden blonde mermaid princess! I highly recommend her and feel great knowing that I have a new stylist

My husband and I followed our hairstylist Jody here and are so happy we did! She is amazing at what she does from the perfect blonde highlight to a great cut as well as blowouts and styling! So much so that we still drive down from Santa Monica to see her! Could not recommend her more, she’s the best!

Chanel has been doing my hair for 2 years. I have busy hours and need to look professional at all times. Channel does an excellent job, is very professional and a smart young women. I donot like my hair to look unnatural or overdone and Chanel has a knack for making hair look classy.
I highly recommend her.

I see Chanel for high lights and will never go anywhere else! She does the most flattering shade of blonde without damaging my hair. I love that this salon uses all Davines products. You wont go wrong if you book with Chanel!
